Chapter 201
Chu Muxi understood after just one glance.
This was a Colosseum—and more than that. Vincent and his group were involved in selling arms not only to the interstellar pirate groups but also to those from Black Star.
They were also engaged in the trafficking of various interstellar races.
They abducted individuals from other interstellar races, imprisoned them here, and forced them to fight to the death. In the end, most did not survive.
Chu Muxi cursed silently in his heart: ‘Inhuman garbage.’
But on the surface, he just displayed curiosity and took another look at the mermaid in the water tank.
Vincent, who had been observing him closely, noticed his curious expression. He smiled and said, “Is this the first time Ximu has seen a mermaid? Have you never seen one before?”
Chu Muxi nodded slightly, but his gaze lingered on the mermaid.
Lynn must have noticed his people being persecuted like this. That was likely why he took the initiative to investigate the clues, which eventually led him to the Sun family behind the scenes.
Casey spoke gently, “If you’re curious, I’ll take you to a place on Black Star later. There are many aliens there—tree people, and so on.”
Chu Muxi suddenly asked, “Why are they here?”
Casey paused, then said, “Ximu, come here.”
Chu Muxi moved closer, approaching the glass. Although his view was still limited, from this angle, he could see more clearly. The mermaid seemed to be sleeping in the water.
“If you want to live freely, you have to become strong,” Casey said, resting one hand on his shoulder and pointing in the mermaid’s direction. “Otherwise, you will be treated like cargo, just like them.”
He looked at Chu Muxi steadily, his words carrying deep meaning.
Chu Muxi’s pupils trembled slightly, and his gaze toward the mermaid became thoughtful.
“We’ve arranged a good show tonight, and the other guests are about to arrive,” Vincent said with a smile. “When the time comes, I invite you to visit. Especially you, Xiao Ximu. I promise you won’t regret it.”
After speaking, Vincent reached out as if to pat Chu Muxi on the shoulder, but Chu Muxi avoided it.
Casey stepped forward, positioning himself between them. Chu Muxi suddenly raised his eyes and glanced at Casey’s back.
Once they left, Casey brought Chu Muxi back to their quarters.
Vincent arranged a place for them to stay. Initially, Casey chose the room he usually used, but Chu Muxi’s room was arranged farther away.
Despite this, Casey insisted that Chu Muxi live next door to him—or even in the same room.
His suite was spacious, large enough for two people.
“I brought this child. Of course, he’s going to live with me,” Casey insisted.
Chu Muxi noticed that Vincent’s expression changed slightly. Although he kept smiling, the smile did not reach his eyes.
“What’s so unusual about this?” Vincent said, looking between Chu Muxi and Casey. “I just didn’t expect—” Vincent paused, his gaze moving back to Casey. “This is the first time I’ve seen you so interested in a brat like this,” he added calmly.
Not to be outdone, Casey smiled and replied, “I’ve already said that I’m very optimistic about this kid. I see him as my successor. Why else would I bring him here to see you alone?”
