RAIDS ONLINE: RAGNAROK BEAST

Chapter 68: Family Trip

The day before Luel and Amy's trip to the North-Seacoast City.

"Yeah! We're going to the beach!"

"Mhm!... The beach with Big Sister and Fluffy Hair Uncle!"

Yesterday, while Luel and Amy were making plans for their trip to the North-Seacoast City, the twins, Ram and Mie, who came to visit and play with Amy, overheard their discussion.

Upon learning that Luel and Amy are heading to the beach, Ram and Mie beg for Luel and Amy to take them on their trip.

Luel refuses Ram and Mie's request, as looking after two children barely at the age of five, is quite tiring during a total of three days trip. However, after seeing the twins who are about to cry when their request is denied, Amy couldn't bear the guilt of making the two children sad.

"Are you sure you two can look after the twins for three days?

Rammie, who's been sitting on the couch inside the living room watching the news on the television, asks Luel and Amy, who are still eating their breakfast in their usual place on the balcony.

"Their good children who know how to listen when they're told to. So it should be fine, right Ram, Mie?"

Amy directed her question while looking with a smile towards Ram and Mie.

"We'll listen to Big Sister!"

"And Fluffy Hair Uncle too!"

Seeing Ram and Mie happily hugging Amy, excited for their trip, Rammie looks at Luel with an obvious thought written all over her face.

...Get Amy to join the family already!...

...Don't give me that look!...

While Luel and Rammie are glaring at each other, having some kind of telepathic conversation, a sudden news from the television gets their attention.

[Is it really true that you're ending your career as an actress even though you just started two years ago and are now at the height of popularity?]

A young prodigy actress barely the same age as Amy is being interviewed in a press conference about her sudden announcement of quitting and officially retiring from the entertainment industry.

[Can you tell us exactly the reason why you came to such a decision?]

As another interviewer asks the most important question to the young actress, Amy, who's been sitting quietly on the balcony, swiftly runs inside the living room in front of the television to hear the answer that the young actress is about to give.

The young actress grabs one of the microphones placed on the desk before confidently standing in front of all the interviewers and proudly giving her answer.

[I'm chasing and fighting for love.]

[...WARGHHH!!!...]

The conference went wild after hearing the young actress's declaration about love.

A barrage of questions was thrown right after another until the broadcast was suddenly cut off.

Amy stands petrified after watching the news. After all, even Luel and Rammie know the connection between Amy and the young prodigy actress.

...They were friends, so it's obvious that Amy will be shocked by that news...

Or so Luel and Rammie thought until they heard Amy's remark.

"What the faq is Eve planning to do this time?"

"The faq!"

"FAQ!"

"Hey! Language you two!"

"Don't get mad at them, Rammie. They're just kids."

"I'm sorry. Please don't imitate my words, Ram, Mie."

"Always listen to Amy and Luel, okay? Make sure to stay at their side and don't get lost"

"We'll hold Big Sister and Fluffy Hair Uncle's hands."

"Mhm!... So they don't get lost!"

On the day of their trip, Amy and Luel packed everything they needed inside the trunk of the convertible Mini Cooper, which they would be using for their trip.

As per their plan, Amy is the one driving. Luel's trauma about riding a car is only limited when he's the one driving, so he's perfectly comfortable in the passenger seat watching Amy and looking after Ram and Mie, who are safely strapped in the back seat.

"Are you sure you're not coming with us, Rammie?"

Luel once again tried to invite Rammie to join their trip not only to make it easier for them to look after the twins but also to thank her for always looking after him during his recent anxiety and panic attacks that even escalated to being hospitalized.

However, Rammie rejects Luel's invitation as she has already made other plans for her sudden holiday of taking care of her children.

"Well, my husband and I have already planned another trip with just the two of us. So I'm really thankful to you two for looking after Ram and Mie in a few days. Anyway, enjoy this free trial family trip, so you will be ready when the baby comes out."

...Please stop causing more misunderstanding!!...

Or so Luel and Amy wanted to say. But as they haven't cleared the misunderstanding with Ram and Mie about Amy having a baby, Luel and Amy were unable to retribute to Rammie's teasing.

The trip towards the North-Seacoast City went unexpectedly easy and safely with Amy's skillful driving, which indeed surprised Luel.

Luel seriously took the task of looking after Ram and Mie to lessen the stress and allow Amy to enjoy her time playing with the twins at every stop they made.

Ram and Mie also play their part in following Luel and Amy's instructions and holding their hands so as not to get separated.

It should have only been a day trip to reach the North-Seacoast City. But with all the sightseeing spots that Amy decided to stop by during their trip so that Ram and Mie would enjoy the trip, it took them past 8 in the evening before arriving at the hotel they booked for their stay at the beach of the North-Seacoast City.

"Ram and Mie are already sleeping. I guess they tired themselves out playing the whole day."

"Well, you three didn't actually stop playing with every stop we made."

"Are you saying that I acted a bit childish today, Luel?"

"I'm saying that I enjoy watching you play with the twins all day, Amy."

It's already midnight, yet Luel and Amy are still awake sitting on the couch in their hotel room.

It's a one-bedroom, one-living room-style hotel, so while Ram and Mie are sleeping inside the bedroom, Luel and Amy are having their alone time on the couch where Luel will be sleeping tonight.

However, it's not like Luel hates sleeping on the couch. In fact, sleeping on the couch has been rather more comfortable for Luel compared than the bed. After all, the chances of dreaming his Player's Nightmare is higher when Luel is sleeping in his bed back at their house.

Seeing the dark circles under Luel's eyes, Amy can't help but ask Luel how he's handling his nightmare.

"I'm fine, Amy. The nightmare is kind of getting more realistic but I'm getting used to it."

"You mean you're getting used to dreaming about me getting killed, Luel?"

It was only a simple teasing attempt by Amy to make Luel loosen up his stress from his nightmare of killing Amy while he was within the body of a Ragnarok Beast. Yet Luel's reply is something kind of serious and honest.

"Of course not. I will never get used to seeing you die like that, Amy. What I'm getting used to is keeping my sanity as I keep saying to myself that I will someday save you from that nightmare."

The two of them suddenly became quiet as Luel realized how awkward their situation had become with all the things he said.

Amy, on the other hand, can't find the words on how to respond to Luel. She knows that Luel isn't lying about his nightmare. After all, Amy can see the desperate look in Luel's eyes. The same desperation that she suffered on the first days, weeks, and months when she started dreaming of her nightmare.

Therefore, Amy was at least sure that Luel thought of her as someone important.

While Luel and Amy are thinking about how to deal with their unspoken and unsure feeling towards each other...

"What are they doing?"

"No hugs! No kiss too."

"Hey, aren't you two supposed to be asleep already?"

...Wah! Big Sister is mad!...
