Chapter 536 First Lady or Second Lady?
536 First Lady or Second Lady?
At the top of a tower in the Dark Kingdom, two women in robes covering their entire faces were casually watching a large celebration nearby while quietly sipping tea.
One of them, Mia Holmer, looked carefully at Charlotte.
"Lady, are you sure it's all right to come here unannounced? Being so close to the great leaders of this world is dangerous... From here, I can see even Gray Allen himself." She said, feeling a little choked up to be seeing such powerful people gathered together.
There were so many that she could see the huge difference between the most powerful and human race.
Still, Charlotte was calm.
"We're just passing through, casually watching a big celebration. Besides, someone will be coming to see us."
"He's coming? Are you sure? This celebration is for him; I'm afraid he's busy."
"Haha, no matter how busy he is, he always makes time to spend time with those he loves, " she said, putting the cup of tea on the table.
Just then, and before Mia could speak, Charlotte smiled.
"I didn't make a mistake, did I?" She said, looking back at her.
Just then, Matthew and Isla materialized there. Matthew smiled at Charlotte.
"I don't think you can go wrong with anything to do with me." After that, he looked at Mia and nodded at her.
"It seems our meeting didn't take place under the circumstances you thought, Miss Mia. In enemy races, but being friends like in the old days."
Mia Holmer was surprised to see him arrive like this and choked when she felt the tremendous power Matthew now enjoyed. She had grown enormously stronger, but she felt quite distant from Matthew's power.
She couldn't figure out how to react or what to do for a moment. Should she kneel? Should she bow? What should she do?
When she first saw him, he was a pupil, then a… ¿Business partner? Subsequently, she saw him as an enemy/friend with great potential with whom she had a strange promise. But for some time now, she has seen him as the Husband of her Lady.
And now he suddenly appeared in front of her and was greeting her.
What was she going to say? She was in shock.
So Matthew smiled and walked over to her to pat her on the head. "Keep treating me like you always do, and everything will be fine. Like I said, I will eventually make you belong to my race, so you don't need to be polite."
Mia Holmer was even more surprised but smiled and nodded at him. "Your personality and walk have changed, but your power could not be considered to have changed. You literally look like you've evolved into a whole new being." She said and smiled at him.
"Haha, maybe I have evolved lately."
Matthew looked at Charlotte but noticed that she and Isla were staring at each other.
Just then, Isla stepped forward and made Charlotte stand up.
"It's been many years without seeing you, Second Lady." Isla said, teasing a little. However, she suddenly put a hand on her mouth as an apology. "Oh, right. Looks like you couldn't make it to that. Sorry."
Her words made Charlotte's eyebrows twitch, but she could control herself perfectly.
"Hahaha, I'm sure Miss Isabella likes to joke around. You should address me as Matt's real Wife. Times and lives have changed, now the First Lady of Dietrich is not the same."
"Heh. Looking for excuses to run away? Even if lives were to change, there is no other First Lady than me, Second Lady."
"If life changes, the position changes, Miss Isabella. Besides, what ways are those to address your ancestor? Just because you're a vampire now doesn't mean your human roots are gone. Remember your place, don't be arrogant. I've always given you such advice, but even 10 million years haven't made you understand it; maybe you're the most airheaded person ever."
At Charlotte's teasing, Isla frowned. Charlotte knew and remembered her better, which could create more problems for her because, according to Matthew, she was with him for over 30 years when he was in another world. And Isla's time with Matthew was only a few years, albeit very intense.
Still, she soon found what to talk about and smiled.
"Even when you inherit a legendary legacy, a person with no skills can still overtake you. I really pity you; your state is pitiful." Isla sighed as if she really felt pity, and it wasn't just mockery.
At those words of provocation from both of them, sparks flew back and forth, and they stared at each other as if they wanted to start a fight right then and there.
Mia Holmer was in shock; she could barely understand anything they discussed. However, Matthew smiled and gave them both a little smack on the head, freezing the 'sparks' that ran between them.
"Stop fighting over nonsense." He scolded them.
That made Isla look at him reproachfully, but she backed off after that, and Charlotte did exactly the same.
She looked at the chair she was sitting in and smiled. She immediately moved to where Matthew was and made him sit there. Then, she sat on his lap, overtaking Isla.
Isla stared at her as if she wanted to swallow her alive with her eyes, yet she said nothing and sat down beside Matthew.
Mia Holmer was excluded.
She looked on from the side at all this as if in shock. Somehow, suddenly, an unknown woman began to rival Charlotte, and it was all because…
They seemed to be fighting over the man? Why fight over the husband of both of them? Naturally, she didn't understand that the two simply had a petty grudge. But somehow, she felt she had to support Charlotte with all her being, so she sat close to her.
Charlotte smiled and leaned back against Matt. "Apparently, you've started moving already."
He smiled at her. "Yes. Those who are hiding like rats will soon come out; it's time for them to know my power."
She nodded slightly. "Try not to abuse. Don't extinguish a race; remember that order and adaptation are fundamental to the coexistence of a race."
