Chapter 520: A New Homeland
Zhou Yuwen asked Lu Wanting to squeeze out twenty million US dollars from the agency. Fifteen million of that was for purchasing the estate, and the remaining five million was for the basic construction of the estate.
All the land of a small county town is now Zhou Yuwen's private property. It includes mountains, forests, and various rare wild animals. Honestly, after acquiring this piece of land, Zhou Yuwen wasn't sure how to develop it. Thankfully, there was an experienced Manor Owner, Heather, next door, who told Zhou Yuwen that he could hire local farmers to work for him, or go to city bars to hire some cowboys, or even workers with more professional skills.
"It's not like before; you can't quickly get cheap and stable labor. But as long as you have enough money, I'm sure they would be happy to work for you," Heather said with a smile.
The American Continent is good for everything except for the high cost of labor. Heather had made quite a bit of money from Zhou Yuwen, so she was willing to lend some of her still idle farm workers from her estate to help Zhou Yuwen tidy up his estate a little.
Su Qing and Susan are designers. Before they designed the building, Zhou Yuwen thought they could first help him plan the estate. Su Qing was surprised when she learned Zhou Yuwen bought a large estate. If it weren't for having to work with Susan in the studio, Su Qing would have wanted to go with Zheng Yanyan and the others to check out the estate.
In the center of the estate, there is an abandoned castle that hasn't been inhabited for a long time, even by the former Manor Owner, Old Brown, who only lived in the small wooden house he built himself.
After discussing with Su Qing, Zhou Yuwen decided to start by building a two-story Western-style villa from the old Brown's wooden house as the starting point for temporary residence, while the castle would definitely undergo gradual restoration.
In addition to this, Zhou Yuwen also planned to build a ranch and hire cowboys to drive all the wild bison and wild horses into his ranch, from the wild to domesticated.
In a few days, Lu Wanting finally arrived with Zheng Yanyan and the others.
When Zheng Yanyan arrived, Zhou Yuwen was directing workers with Heather, and in just a few days, a simple stable had already been set up.
Heather really likes horseback riding and has a batch of race-level horses bought at a high price. Zhou Yuwen was interested in horseback riding, so he constantly sought Heather's advice on riding these past few days.
Heather generously shared her knowledge, realizing Zhou Yuwen was fascinated by the wild horses on the land. But she warned Zhou Yuwen that beginners shouldn't think about taming wild horses. If interested, he could purchase a race-level horse raised from a young age.
Zhou Yuwen, however, replied that he didn't have that much money, as even a racehorse costs around ten thousand dollars.
Heather feigned surprise, saying, "Oh, are you short on money?"
Zhou Yuwen said that when he was buying the estate, he hadn't realized that construction would require most of the funds, so he had to be frugal.
Heather laughed at his words, saying, "Mysterious Oriental Wizard, don't get disheartened; this land will bring you wealth."
Zhou Yuwen hadn't expected her to use his words to tease him, and he shrugged his shoulders.
While they were chatting, they suddenly heard a distant shout of "Honey~"
Zhou Yuwen looked up and saw Zheng Yanyan waving at him before running over, eventually landing in his arms.
Lu Wanting, Shen Yu, and the other girls also followed one by one.
Zhou Yuwen asked them how they arrived so quickly?
"Don't mention it, we almost couldn't find our way. Luckily, Sister Wanting knows a lot of people and asked around to find this place," Zheng Yanyan replied.
Zhou Yuwen turned to Lu Wanting and said, "Thanks for your hard work."
Lu Wanting gave a shy smile upon hearing this.
Zheng Yanyan looked at the already under-construction Western-style villa joyfully and eagerly asked Zhou Yuwen, "Hey, hey, honey, is all of this ours?"
Zhou Yuwen said, "Not just this, but also over there, and there."
Zhou Yuwen pointed to the eastern hilltop and the western birch woods, telling Zheng Yanyan, this would all be ours in the future!
Zheng Yanyan was so excited she stomped her feet on the spot. She hooked Zhou Yuwen's neck and said, "Awesome! Then won't I be the landlady in the future?"
Zhou Yuwen said, "What nonsense you're talking. What era are we in now? There are no landlords anymore."
At this point, Heather couldn't help but cough and asked, "Um, excuse me, is this your sister?"
In fact, Heather had wanted to ask this for a long time. Isn't Zhou Yuwen's lover Su Qing? How come he's so close with another Oriental girl? She was confused.
Seeing Heather's puzzled expression, Zhou Yuwen didn't hide anything. Holding Zheng Yanyan's hand, he said with a smile, "Oh, I forgot to introduce you. This is Zheng Yanyan, my lover."
"What?" Heather was indeed a bit stunned.
Zhou Yuwen continued introducing Lu Wanting, Shen Yu, and Lu Lin.
These four girls each had their own charms. Zheng Yanyan was wearing a pair of tight jeans that emphasized her long, slender legs, and her exposed ankles added a few playful and cute touches.
Lu Lin was dressed simply in black flared jeans and a black short-sleeve T-shirt.
Lu Wanting had the look of a professional woman in an office lady uniform.
As for Shen Yu, she wore a chiffon top with a long skirt, appearing like a graceful lady.
Zhou Yuwen told Heather that these were all his lovers.
Heather's mouth hung open in surprise, with a look full of incomprehension.
