Pretending to Be an Untouchable Crime Boss

Chapter 302: Side.

It was hard to truly understand the scale of it, how much power Darvik and Maraci had over them… how much they could fuck them straight into the ass. Yeah, well, they have fucked up from the beginning… if from the beginning they were more cautious about everything in the fucking country in the government this could have never happened…

"But it doesn't make any sense." Benjamin said as he shook his head and visibly looked confused about something.

"Oh really?" Linda asked back in a mocking way, still frustrated with everything.

Yeah, like, if we think about it more, Maraci deals with the Union and under the rug, which means we can't be blackmailed by anyone." He looked at Linda, who didn't understand a word from him or what he implied by that.

"Explain it." She said,

"I mean, only high-ranking politicians know about the deals between them even if there are sanctions… and we are those people, we know about the illegal trade deals that have been made between the Union and Maraci, so we can counter the blackmail with a blackmail."

What a move… not a mastermind move but one that was in front of their eyes but they didn't even think about for a second… and for good reason.

That would cause so fucking much trouble that it is truly story-ending one… going to war with the Union, going blackmail for blackmail, it would cause a fucking revolution, easily, because everybody knows that those so-called deals under the rug included not just oil, ores, and other high-value things… no, but of course stealing money, millions upon millions with every deal just reallocating it out of official actions to shell companies.

Yeah the Union loves to act as the guardian of peace and democracy but it is the most fucking corrupt alliance since its existence. Of course, it has its own good things, but everything is corrupt in the world and they are definitely up on it.

Like humanitarian missions that the Union forces did… well, they used the planes to carry weapons to rebels and to start a revolution… and they made a profit off it. Not just that, the Union sold weapons to even terrorists… the same terrorists that attacked countries that are in the Union.

Profit is profit, they said, even if it came with civilian deaths… well, if that would come to the surface, shit… everything would fucking burn. People wouldn't even care about that the mafia is in the government, but how fucking devilish the Union is… that's why nobody used that card so far, because it would be shit for everybody.

But now they have it. If Maraci really started a blackmail then they can use it, and, well, burn everything to fucking ground with it.

"Yeah, but we're going too far into the future. Maybe this Darvik guy helped James because of something else, maybe they are really friends, maybe he made a deal with money, so in my opinion we don't need to stress about it too much." Stephen said as he slowly stood up. "What we do need to worry about is to make up a story for the cartel deaths, and finally move out our own troops to seize every asset, to arrest everybody that has connection with them."

Stephen said it well. It's all just something that could happen, but not a fact that is going to happen, and they can't just freeze down thinking about it all the time, because they need to act on the main thing that has happened.

Once again, make up a story… but in reality, they don't even need to make up a story.

They said in their speech, they're going to kill criminals and now they just need to build up the story of how it happened.

"Yeah, that's true too." Thomas said as he got up. "I'm going to send some guys out to look official and believable. You too, Benjamin, send out some guys, so we can say it was a joint operation with all of the agencies."

It was not a master plan, but one that was actually believable, and, well, it was good for another reason too. With it, they could please the public and show that they were actually doing what they promised and had killed many cartel members who were fucking parasites in society, and in this way the national emergency would make more sense to people, they would believe in it much more.

"I'm going to tell William about it." Linda also got up, but she was still like a zombie. "So he can prepare his speech and move if Maraci decides to actually move on us." She looked at Benjamin. "You call up Hector and ask him if they need anything or not… and if he says they're going on a killing spree… then let them do it with your agency. We can get more points with it in the general public's eyes."

Silence… everybody was stunned by it. Now Linda is the one who has allowed the use of force… or more like is balancing them with James' men… though it could truly work as a point to the general public. If Hector goes on a killing spree, then later the agency can show off the dead bodies and say whatever they want.

"I will." Benjamin answered. "But what about James? Should we call him?"

"I will speak with him." Linda said, but to everybody else it was the worst option because she will definitely snap at him and make everything more twisted… though it needed to be done.

Somebody needed to once tell James to chill out and do everything with caution…

In long, tell him he fucked up and be a fucking man with some sense… though they didn't know the other side of it… the money deal between him and Darvik… the protection he gave to his family and to him.

Yeah, he maybe fucked up, maybe he was played, manipulated, but the deal that Darvik gave him is far greater than everything else could be.

He chose the side that is worth more at the moment.
