Pokemon x COTE: Advanced Nurturing Trainer School

Sorry for the slow update. Every time I do some research on YouTube, I can't help but watch some Hololive clips (that damn rabbit hole). I don't really have much time but still waste my time watching them, I just can't help it.

Also, to proseka fans, sorry for messing up Mizuki's character. Of course, some changes are needed for them to fit in this world and this school but putting Mizuki in the MC's clan have changed her whole background.

When doing some research earlier, I came across to the Mizuki5 conclusion which showed how much I messed up and that would also change some parts of N25's story, so I'm really sorry.

I'll try to make a good setting for her but don't expect much since I'm still new at writing.

Also, I ended up writing two chapters. It was supposed to be a single one but I ended up writing a very long chapters so I had to cut it in two.

Anyway, enjoy the double chapters.

After walking on the path for a while, we reached a crossroad. While this wasn't the first time we were on a crossroad in this forest, this on is a bit special since, while the left part just continue normally through the forest, the right part lead to a darker area that gives an eerie feeling. This was the dark forest. This forest is home to mostly dark and ghost type Pokemon.

"Wow, so this is the dark forest? Just being near it gives me some goosebumps, but I'm also very curious! Let's go there!"

"Before going there, let me warn you. Ghost type Pokemon are one of the most problematic Pokemon to train due to the fact the love pranks and mischiefs. While those would be pretty harmless when they're still weak, it would become more dangerous the stronger they become. If they would throw cakes on people when they're weak, the stronger ones may throw cars and laugh when they see the people's corpses. You'll have to educate them when you catch some even though it's hard you'll be the one responsible for anything they do so if you're not prepared for that then don't catch any." I said to them.

"Really? But as long as they become a good kid, there's no problem right?" Asked Saki.

"That's right but it wouldn't be easy you know."

"Don't worry! I'm ready! I'll make sure they'll be good kids. And you'll be there to help us right, Yuu-chan?"

"*Sigh* Really? Saki? You already expect Yuu to help you? How can you be so shameless." Exclaimed Shiho.

"Well, isn't that what friends are for? Helping each other, I'll also help everyone when you need help."

"I don't think there's anything you can do to help anyone though."

"You're mean! Icchan! Hona-chan! Shiho-chan is being mean with me!" Complained Saki while hugging Hoshi-chan and Honami.

With such a lively atmosphere, we started to go to the dark forest. The girls from my band seems interested in the forest but Sakura was hesitant to enter.

"Sakura, are you okay?"

"…Uh, w-well, I'm not really good with that stuff, I-I mean scary things. B-but since everyone is here, even though I'm a bit scared, I'll try my best."

"Don't worry, Sakura-san. As long as you're with us, we'll help you." Said Honami while holding her hand.

"T-thank you, Mochizuki-san." (Sakura)

"Hona-chan's right! Also, some ghosts are nothing when we have a demon king with us." (Saki)

"That title again…"(Yuu)

When we entered the dark forest, the atmosphere around us turned eerie. It felt like we entered a totally different world.

"Whoa! Amazing! This is like being in those ghost movie! You can feel the vibes! This is way better than those amusement parks' haunted house and... WAH!!"

As Saki was talking, a Ghastly appeared suddenly and started her. It chuckled a bit before disappearing.

"Uwah! That startled me! Those ghost Pokemon really love pranks it seems!" Exclaimed Saki.

"Well, you'll have to get used to it since pranks would be very common here." I said.

"Yuu, do you have one of your ghost type Pokemon with you? As fellow ghosts, they should be able to prevent those pranks right?" Asked Shiho.

"I have Sachiko with me but you have to endure those pranks if you want to catch some ghost type Pokemon. She'll protect you from the harmful ones but getting along with the harmless ones would help you to bond with them easier."

"*Sigh* Really... It seems we have to go along with that then."

"Yuu-chan, can I see your ghost type Pokemon? I don't remember seeing one in your mansion." Asked Saki.

"Okay then, come out, Sachiko!"

As I said that, a Pokemon came out of my shadow. It was a dark bluish-green Pokemon with long fluttering hairs and several round red gems around its neck measuring 1.4m (4'7) in height.

"Whoa, is that a Misdreavus? A giant Misdreavus?"

"No, it's a Flutter mane, an ancient Pokemon. It's an ancient relative of Misdreavus."

"Really? That's incredible! I never thought I'd see an ancient Pokemon! This is really wonderful!" Saki was really excited. The other girls were also interested but couldn't help but chuckle seeing Saki's excitement.

"Okay, Sachiko, just stay on guard in case of harmful pranks. Otherwise, don't do anything. Okay?"

"Maaa!" After nodding, Sachiko went back to my shadow.

"Okay then, let's g..." *Splosh*

As Saki was talking, she got hit by a tamato berry and its inside got splash all over her face.

"Ghahahaha!" The Ghastly from earlier, who was the one who threw the berry, laughed at her. Honami took out a towel from her bag and helped Saki.

"Muuu, let's see who will get the last laugh!" Exclaimed Saki.

"Ghaaaaaa!" The Ghastly sticked out its tongue before disappearing again.

Near its previous spot, Saki found a tamato berry bush with a dozen of them so se collected them for later use.

Later, Shiho found a Murkrow and decided to catch it. As she was collecting back the PokeBall, a Pokemon appeared near Honami. It had a dark bluish-green body with round red gems on the neck. It was a Misdreavus, a real one. The two of them were looking at each other for a moment before the Misdreavus used flash, generating an intense light.

Honami was surprised and got blinded and dazzled for a moment. The Misdreavus snickered a bit then made a bell-like sound generating an energy that healed Honami's condition.

"Oh, thank you. That was a bit mean but thank you for helping me." Said Honami while patting its head. It was surprised by her reaction for a moment before making an ominous mist ball that entered Honami's body.

"Hona-chan!" "Honami!" The girls panicked but I calmed them saying that it wouldn't harm her. Honami also panicked for a moment but she then felt something and didn't resit it. She then looked at the Misdreavus, took out a PokeBall and said.

"Phew, that surprised me a bit but please take care of me from now on!"

"Vus!" Misdreavus smiled at her and let herself to be captured without resistance.

"Honami, are you okay?" Hoshi-chan immediately came up to her and asked.

"Yes, I think. I'm not sure what was that but I can feel a connection with her. It's like I can trust her."

"Really? Hey, Yuu, do you know what was that?" Asked Shiho.

"Well, the Misdreavus actually did two things to her. The first one was Destiny bond. Also unlike the one used in battle where a Pokemon who knocked out the user would be knocked out, the one used earlier was called eternal destiny bond. Their lives would be linked together, when one die, the other would also die. In exchange, both parties' remaining lifetime would be added to each other's. For example, one should be able to live for 20 years more while the other for 40 years, with an eternal destiny bond, both would be able to live for 60 years.

"In Honami's case, due to the fact ghost Pokemon don't have a life expectancy and can live forever unless killed, she's now technically immortal and would stop growing when she reaches a certain age. An eternal destiny bond can't be forced and a Pokemon asking for it is extremely rare, even more for ghost type ones. And in most case, the human would resist it instinctively and and also die to knowing nothing about it.

"Also, the human should get some powers relative to the bond Pokemon so from now on, Honami should get a ghost related to ghost. The stronger the Pokemon and the stronger the bond, the more power the human would get, and that power can be passed down to the human's offsprings. That's actually how our first ancestor got the miracle power. She formed an eternal destiny bond with a legendary Pokemon called Xerneas." I explained to them

"Wow... Just, wow. That's really... Wow." The girls were speechless hearing the explanation and even the talkative Saki could only say that. Honami was completely silent and it took a while for her to let everything sink in. We just stayed quiet waiting for her.

"So, I'm immortal now? And does that mean she actually entrusted her life to me since she'll die if I die?"

"Yes, and yes. This show how much she took a liking to you. You see, ghost type Pokemon are rarely trusted, even among themselves and she seemed really moved when you showed kindness to her, so much that she immediately asked for an eternal destiny bond." I said.

"I see, then, I'll take care of her from now on." She said with a smile. Knowing her, I'm pretty sure that she'll have a really strong bond with her Misdreavus, just like Miyabi and me. She worked very hard to lear destiny bond even though she doesn't normally learn it just for that.

"Wait Yuu, you said Misdreavus did two things right? What's the other?" Asked Shiho.

"Haunting."

"""Haunting?"""

"Yes, she's now haunted by Misdreavus. I think Misdreavus did that to be able to stay with her even if she rejects the destiny bond. Ghost type Pokemon can only haunt one thing in their whole life. It could be a person, an object or a location and they would only haunt something they really love or something they really hate. This also show how much she likes Honami. Also ghost type Pokemon would get some power boost when they're near the haunted object/person."

"Whoa, like in those movies?" Asked Saki.

"Yeah, like in those movies. But most of those movies only show the bad things while Honami's case is a good one." I told her.

"Even so, it's like we're living in a movie, it's very exciting! Pokemon are really wonderf... Hyah!"

As Saki was lost in her excitement, the Ghastly appeared again and licked her face. Her body went numb and she feels on her knees. It's very likely that she got paralyzed. Ghastly then sticked out its tongue while laughing and went away.

"It seems he got you when you had your guards lowered." I said while healing her.

"Moouu! I'll get him next time! Célia, tell me of you manage to find it!" Saki seemed even more determined to return the favor to it.

As we continued our way through the forest, a white candle-like Pokemon with blue flame appeared in front of us, a litwick. It looked at each of us for a moment before approaching Sakura. Her Bellossom was on guard but it just approached as if there's nothing wrong.

"Lit!" It greeted her with a smile.

"Um... Hi! A-are you interested in becoming my Pokemon?"

"Li? Lit!" It pondered a bit but instead of answering, it pointed toward a direction and made a sign as is asking to follow it. Sakura was a bit surprised and looked towards me.

"Do you want to folllow it?" I asked her.

"Uh… well, I-I'm a bit interested s-so… yes!" She said in a small voice.

"Okay then, lets go!"

The litwick seemed happy and led the way, though, I could hear it snickering for a moment. Well I already expected that knowing what kind of Pokemon it was.

"WHY DOES IT ALWAYS HAPPENS TO ME!"
