Chapter 115: Chapter 115: Hypnotizing Sabrina

Chapter 115: Hypnotizing Sabrina

Sabrina's expression turned grim after failing to teleport away and being mocked mercilessly by Asahi.

Beside Asahi, his Gardevoir sat elegantly, the black hem of her dress swaying gently with her legs.

The overwhelming psychic pressure she emitted weighed heavily on Sabrina.

"What did you do?"

In the past, even when facing an opponent she couldn't defeat, teleportation had always been her way out.

Now, her infallible escape method had failed, leaving her feeling insecure.

"Nothing much, just had Gardevoir use her psychic power to seal off the entire area." Asahi replied casually. "If you want to teleport away, just defeat Gardevoir."

"....."

If she could defeat Gardevoir, why would she even need to teleport away?

Should she call for reinforcements?

The students of the Saffron Gym didn't know her true identity, but as the Gym Leader, they would likely obey her if she ordered them to attack Asahi.

However, Asahi seemed to have anticipated her thoughts and smiled slightly:

"By the way, Gardevoir's psychic power has also isolated all sound. Even if you scream at the top of your lungs, no one will hear you. Heh heh...."

"..."

Between the two of them, who was really the villain here?

If this were a different situation, Sabrina would definitely introduce Asahi to Giovanni.

But with her escape route cut off, surrendering was not an option.

Her ace Pokémon was still in fighting condition, and there were over ten Psychic-type Pokémon in the field. Though the situation was dire, she refused to believe that Asahi and Gardevoir wouldn't reveal a single opening under a relentless assault!

As long as she could force Gardevoir to drop the psychic barrier, she'd have her chance to escape.

With that thought in mind, Sabrina launched her attack.

---

Sweat dripped from her hair as she leaned on her equally battered Alakazam, panting heavily. The look she gave Gardevoir was filled with unwillingness.

She had always known that the gap between Elite-level and Champion-level trainers was immense.

But as a self-proclaimed psychic genius, she had never seen a Psychic-type Pokémon wield such terrifying psychic power.

Her plan was to use sheer numbers to wear down Gardevoir's psychic energy and wait for her barrier to collapse.

Yet in the past ten minutes, Gardevoir had effortlessly crushed her Pokémon one by one with her relentless psychic onslaught.

Even now, there was no sign of exhaustion in Gardevoir's power—almost as if an external source was constantly replenishing her energy.

Looking at the exhausted Sabrina, Asahi smiled. "How about surrendering?"

"We at the International Police treat prisoners well—you even get fresh Moomoo Milk for breakfast every day~"

At first, Sabrina had little reaction to Asahi's offer. But when she heard "International Police," her gaze sharpened, and she looked up at him.

"You're with the International Police?"

She had considered that Asahi might be affiliated with the Pokémon League, but she never expected him to be part of the International Police—an organization Team Rocket had already taken down.

Yet according to Team Rocket's intelligence, when they dismantled the Kanto branch of the International Police, Asahi was still working as a forest ranger in the Safari Zone.

Did that mean the Kanto branch had been rebuilt?

And who the hell had recruited this guy?!

Meanwhile, all the way in Indigo Plateau, Lance sneezed, looking confused.

Hearing Sabrina's question, Asahi maintained his smile. "Of course. Lt. Surge was quite shocked when he found out too."

Since Sabrina was already at his mercy, Asahi didn't mind indulging her curiosity.

"Lt. Surge... you caught him too?" Sabrina asked.

"Yep. Honestly, Surge wasn't as strong as you, but he was way harder to deal with."

Capturing the Rocket grunts in Vermilion Gym had taken him an entire night. Although Sabrina was stronger, her reliance on Psychic-types made it easier for him to capture them all at once.

Sabrina never expected the man Giovanni had been hunting relentlessly to be standing right in front of her. Yet now, she had no way to relay this information to Giovanni.

"So? Want to surrender?" Asahi leaned forward. "Honestly, I never understood why someone with your background would join Team Rocket."

"Was being a Gym Leader too dull for you? Did you join for the thrill?"

Sabrina turned her head away, refusing to answer or surrender.

She acknowledged Asahi's strength, but she would never give in.

Sensing his trainer's determination, Alakazam tightened its grip on its spoons, preparing to fight to the bitter end.

"Tch... So after all that, I still have to do this the hard way."

Asahi clicked his tongue and waved his hand. Gardevoir sent a powerful Psychic attack at Sabrina and Alakazam.

Alakazam, already drained from the battle, struggled to maintain a Light Screen, but Gardevoir's attack easily shattered it, knocking Alakazam unconscious.

As for Sabrina...

Perhaps under Asahi's silent command, Gardevoir's blue psychic glow shifted to pink.

Sabrina's expression changed as she struggled to resist, but Gardevoir forced eye contact with her, and pink waves of energy flooded into Sabrina's mind.

Hypnosis!

With the power of the Psychic Plate, Gardevoir's telepathic influence overwhelmed Sabrina's mental defenses, gradually taking control of her consciousness.

Seconds later, Sabrina stood beside Asahi, her face still wearing the polite smile she had when they first met.

"Nope, that smile is too stiff. Keep the expression cold."

Asahi gestured to Gardevoir.

"....."

With no choice, Gardevoir adjusted Sabrina's expression to a more neutral, cold demeanor. Asahi then put sunglasses on her to hide the unnatural stiffness in her gaze.

"Much better."

Admiring his work, Asahi clapped his hands and led the hypnotized Sabrina into Saffron Gym to gather evidence of her connection to Team Rocket.

To his surprise, there was barely anything—just a few Team Rocket uniforms with her scent and a half-written report.

Compared to Lt. Surge, who had foolishly turned Vermilion Gym into a full-blown Team Rocket base, Sabrina had been incredibly discreet.

If Asahi hadn't already known the story, he might not have been able to confirm her affiliation.

With what little evidence he had, Asahi and Gardevoir left the gym with Sabrina, under the watchful and curious gazes of the students.
