Chapter 747: Delayed Again
Recently, the spotlight in the country has largely been on Henry, chairman of the Walker Group, after all, Henry has consistently ranked among the top three most eligible bachelors for years.
Now that he was finally married, the public's attention was naturally drawn to him.
Add to that the fact that his father was John Walker, which has pushed the attention even higher.
In terms of guests: Elites, Pseudo-Champions, and Type Elites all attended—even Duke, the strongest Champion of Drakoria, showed up. The level of prestige was absolutely overwhelming.
What's more, Julian also revealed Celebi, instantly raising the buzz another notch.
Right now, there were plenty of photos circulating online of Julian's Celebi.
Curiously, nobody was asking where he got it—since they knew he wouldn't answer anyway. Instead, everyone was fixated on a different question:
"Why on earth is Celebi so fat? It even has a little belly sticking out!"
The mystery was solved once footage spread of Celebi wolfing down mountains of sashimi, only to top it all off with a fried chicken drumstick.
Of course, this scene inevitably drew criticism.
Everyone knew Pokémon weren't supposed to eat too much human food—especially a Pokémon under a trainer's care.
But here was Celebi, not only eating, but eating so much. Wouldn't that ruin its body?
Some people even went as far as demanding Julian release Celebi back into the wild—or hand it over to the state for safekeeping.
Naturally, those voices were drowned out by Julian's loyal fans.
As for Julian himself? He paid no attention to any of the chatter. He was planning to head into the Oreburgh Great Wall Secret Realm.
That had been his intention ever since his uncle's wedding—after all, despite the fact that the Oreburgh Great Wall was already considered his family's secret realm, he hadn't set foot in it even once. Honestly, it felt a little shameful.
Julian had just decided to go tomorrow—
—but his plans were derailed by a single phone call from his grandfather.
"You want me to go to Pannar?" Julian asked in surprise.
"Mm. There's a Top-tier secret realm riot happening over there," John explained briefly over the phone.
Pannar had long been Drakoria's number one ally and staunchest supporter. Their ties were so close that even their Top-tier secret realms and Ruins were accessible to Drakoria.
With a land area of three million square kilometers, Pannar was mid-sized by territory. Within its borders were three Top-tier secret realms.
Domestically, it had one Champion and thirteen Pseudo-Champions.
If not for its relatively backward technology and economy, its national strength might have rivaled that of Wyvernia or Babath.
Unfortunately, due to those weaknesses, the country had consistently remained at a lower level of development.
And now, a riot had broken out in their number #2 Top-Tier Secret Realm.
The Pokémon riot in that Top-tier secret realm had been going on for nearly a year now.
At first, only Advanced-level Pokémon were rampaging. But as time went on, pseudo–Elite level Pokémon joined in, and now even Elite-level Pokémon were rioting.
If things continued to escalate like this, then next would be Pseudo-Champions, and in the end… even Champion-level Pokémon might follow.
Since Pannar had only one Champion-level trainer, it was impossible for them to enter the secret realm and investigate the specific cause of the riot.
If the Champion were to enter the rioting secret realm and accidentally die inside, it would be a devastating blow to Pannar.
Moreover, with their sworn enemy right next door, they absolutely cannot afford to lose their Champion.
So instead, they dispatched three Pseudo-Champions into the secret realm. Yet three months passed, and none of them came back—most likely, they had died inside.
For Pannar, that was a devastating loss. They only had thirteen Pseudo-Champions in total, and just like that, three were gone.
After that, they didn't dare send in anyone else.
But the riot still had to be dealt with. Otherwise, if the Pseudo-Champion and Champion-level Pokémon inside also joined the riot and broke out of the secret realm, the consequences would be catastrophic.
Fighting a Champion-level Pokémon and an unknown number of Pseudo-Champions on their own turf would cause unimaginable collateral damage—who knew how many lives would be lost?
And if a Champion-level Pokémon managed to escape the secret realm, the large number of Advanced-level Pokémon inside would follow.
That was the most terrifying aspect of a secret realm riot: once Pokémon left the secret realm, the destruction they could wreak on the outside world was utterly terrifying.
If they stormed into a city, human trainers wouldn't even be able to fight freely—they'd have to hold back to avoid civilian casualties.
Left with no other option, Pannar had no choice but to turn to their big brother, Drakoria, for help. They wanted Drakoria to send some powerful trainers over. If a Champion came, that would be even better.
Drakoria responded that they were willing to help, but sending a Champion was out of the question.
A Champion was like a mobile nuclear weapon. If a country's Champion leaves their homeland, other countries would be on high alert.
They'd fear that this "mobile nuclear weapon" might be coming to cause trouble in their territory.
As one of the two superpowers, Drakoria had six Champions, all stationed within the country. Even if they needed to leave, it was done discreetly.
But now, with Pannar's Top-tier secret realm riot being common knowledge, other nations had already guessed that Pannar would seek Drakoria's help.
If Drakoria were to send a Champion to assist at this time, the Champion would have to pass through the airspace of several countries that have unfriendly relations with Drakoria.
And honestly—did anyone think those nations would just sit by and let a Champion pass through their skies?
They would be afraid that under the guise of helping Pannar, Drakoria might actually be targeting them.
At the same time, Drakoria was equally wary: if they sent a Champion abroad to aid Pannar, what if other nations—or even terrorist organizations—took the opportunity to assassinate their Champion in secret?
Therefore, sending a Champion was out of the question.
The only alternative was to dispatch a Pseudo-Champion who possessed Champion-level combat power.
The top ten trainers on the Elite rankings were all peak Pseudo-Champions with Champion-level strength.
But without exception, they were either clan leaders, the strongest fighters within their clans, or held critical national positions.
Sending them abroad was… highly unlikely.
The Elders Council was feeling somewhat frustrated—despite its power, Drakoria surprisingly couldn't immediately dispatch a suitable person to help its little brother.
It was then that James suggested sending Julian.
After all, Julian had a track record of defeating a Champion-level Leafeon, proving his strength met the requirements.
But Julian's identity was far too special—he was undoubtedly destined to become a Champion. If something were to happen to him abroad, Drakoria would be devastated.
For this reason, the Elders Council hadn't even considered him.
Yet James Walker said calmly:
"What are you so worried about? Just tell Celestria this—if anything happens to our prodigy, then the First-class Legendary Mewtwo and John will pay a visit to their capital."
This was both a threat and a deterrent.
As for why only Celestria was singled out—because they were the only ones bold enough to target Julian. If they didn't dare to take action, then all the other nations aligned under them certainly wouldn't either.
This also included certain terrorist organizations.
Drakoria wasn't blind. They knew well enough that Celestria had long been nurturing terrorist organizations to stir up trouble internationally and destabilize other nations.
