Chapter 47: ch44
The Master Ball? It's surprising that this is considered just a purple product. It seems a bit downgraded. The Master Ball is said to be capable of capturing any Pokémon, even Legendary ones. However, that's the setting in the game. In reality, the system-produced Master Ball still maintains its exceptional ability to capture all wild Pokémon, Legendary or not.
"Save it slowly," Alex thought, after purchasing the Master Ball fragments. While it's a great item, it requires ten fragments to complete! Compared to some items needing only five fragments, the Master Ball's level is quite high. Currently, Alex hasn't encountered any Pokémon so powerful that it requires the use of a Master Ball, so he'll treat this as a long-term collection task.
Returning to the dorms, Alex realized his roommates hadn't returned yet.
"There's class tomorrow, but they're still not back," Alex noted, rolling his eyes. Were they planning to extend their holiday completely? With no roommates around, Alex was left to enjoy his car-buying experience alone.
After packing his things, Alex took a taxi to Auto City. On the way, he received a call from a familiar voice.
"Alex, I'm in Horizon City. Come pick me up."
It was Elesa! The Elesa known for her electric Pokémon, stunning figure, and career as a supermodel. She had mentioned transferring to Horizon City for school, but Alex didn't expect her to arrive so soon. Her efficiency was impressive.
"Driver, change course to the train station," Alex directed.
Having a beautiful girl by his side was far better than shopping alone. Soon, Alex picked up Elesa. Her striking figure and iconic face naturally drew attention, with fans even asking for her autograph. After a bit of waiting, Alex and Elesa headed to Auto City.
"Why did you suddenly decide to study at Jiangnan Pokémon University?" Alex asked, curious.
Given Elesa's success at Kyoto University and her status as a third-year student, part-time model, and celebrity-level Trainer, transferring to Jiangnan, one of the top five Pokémon universities in the Dragon Kingdom, seemed odd.
"Hmph, don't worry about it," Elesa replied, turning away from Alex's "fatal question."

Elesa thought the reason was obvious, but Alex seemed oblivious, leaving her a bit flustered.
"Alright, don't ask anymore. Let's go buy a car," Alex said, changing the subject.
He had passed his driver's license test over the summer, initially planning to buy a modest car. But with millions in his pocket, Alex confidently headed straight to the luxury car dealership.
Coincidentally, there was a car show in Horizon City, featuring many luxury and new energy car companies. The show wasn't Alex's focus—he wanted a ready-to-drive car.
Shortly after, Alex and Elesa arrived at Auto City. Elesa offered her input, recommending several models. Finally, Alex chose a Ferrari. Although it might seem cliché, Ferrari was a great choice for a first sports car.
Moreover, Alex opted for a silver Ferrari instead of the typical red. The Ferrari representative provided ice cream for Alex and Elesa as a courtesy, treating them warmly. Compared to the neighboring brand's poor service, Ferrari's customer care was commendable.
"Mr. Alex, here are your keys. Please keep them safe!" The Ferrari team was efficient, delivering a brand-new Ferrari 458 from the garage. Priced over $400,000, the 458 outclassed the more common 718.
With a roar of the engine, Alex drove Elesa back to school. He drove carefully on campus, mindful not to disturb others.
To accommodate his new car, Alex applied for an underground garage space. His counselor, Mr. Johnson, aware of Alex's recent windfall, approved the request and informed him accordingly.
"Alex, the school team wants you to join for next year's National College Student Pokémon Competition," Mr. Johnson announced, surprising Alex.
Joining the varsity team as a freshman? That's rare at any school. The National College Student Pokémon Contest is akin to a regional sports championship, culminating in a national title. It's divided into team and individual competitions, showcasing hard-earned skills.
"Me?" Alex hesitated. Though skilled, school teams are typically composed of elite and gym-level Trainers. He hadn't even passed the professional assessment yet.
"Haha, the school has faith in you, especially with your acquisition of a quasi-god. Train it well, and I'm eager to see your Larvitar shine next year!" Mr. Johnson said before hanging up, leaving Alex no room for protest.
Larvitar? By next year, it could be a Tyranitar. Alex chuckled, not taking it too seriously. School competitions no longer held his interest. The Baby Cup might suit Riolu better, especially after evolving into Lucario.
"Should I let Magikarp compete?" Alex mused.
Magikarp: Really? You want me to splash around?
"School team?" Elesa overheard and laughed. "You're not joining them? They're all a bunch of snobs."
It seemed Elesa had her reasons, and Alex was curious.
"Let's grab some wine and chat," Elesa suggested, eyeing Alex. "Aren't you going to treat me to something nice?"
"How about the cafeteria?" Alex teased.
"..." Elesa was not amused!
"Haha, just kidding. I'll take you to try West Lake vinegar fish!" Alex decided, offering a taste of Horizon City's famous dish.
