Many of Evan's Pokémon were called to the hall, where they eagerly tasted the jelly he had prepared for them. Even Exeggutor, whose leaves had been pruned bare, joined in.

When they ate the jelly made from their own leaves, their expressions turned peculiar. It was an odd sensation for them, almost depressing, yet strangely delightful. The flavor was simply too good to resist. With this thought in mind, several Exeggutors began silently channeling their energy into regrowing their leaves.

Grow quickly. Grow quickly.

They hoped Evan would make these delicious treats again soon.

Unaware of their determination, Evan continued distributing the jelly to the Pokémon in his nursery. All the Pokémon seemed to love the jelly, especially the Grass-types, who adored the unique flavor.

As Evan glanced around the living room at the gathered Pokémon, his eyes settled on his Gardevoir.

"Gardevoir," he said gently, "take it easy for now. We won't train this afternoon. Have a good rest."

Then, with a smile, he added, "Later, I'll take you out to catch some Water-type Pokémon."

Hearing this, Gardevoir froze momentarily before nodding.

All right! it responded telepathically, agreeing without hesitation.

Satisfied, Evan stood and began preparing for the outing. He returned to his workshop and addressed Isla and the others.

"I'll be heading out for a while," he informed them. "I might return late, or maybe even tomorrow. Take care of the nursery while I'm gone. When I come back, I'll teach you a new recipe."

He continued, "You can take turns making it in batches. If it doesn't work out, just use the results as food for the other Pokémon. If it's successful, store it for anyone who needs it later."

Isla and the others nodded, though they felt some pressure. They didn't want to risk wasting resources on failures, knowing how much money each attempt could cost. To avoid loss, they decided to only experiment when confident.

Evan, unaware of their concerns, went to pack his belongings. After gathering some Poké Balls and changing clothes, he came downstairs. Waving to Gardevoir and Pikachu, he gave instructions to the others.

"Kirlia, you stay here with Gallade and keep an eye on things. Gardevoir and I will handle this trip. Pikachu, Charmander, Lurantis—you're coming too. And you, Pidgeot," he added, looking at the shiny bird.

Pidgeot paused mid-bite, raising its head in confusion. Was it really going out too? That wasn't bad—it could use a break, and maybe it'd find some wild Pidgey to mingle with.

Evan began recalling the Pokémon that had finished eating the jelly, leaving only Pidgeot out of its ball. After securing Gardevoir, Pikachu, Lurantis, and Charmander in their Poké Balls, he turned to Pidgeot.

"Let's go," he said.

Pidgeot stared at him, puzzled. Wasn't it time to set off? Why head to the backyard? Shouldn't he be putting it back in the ball too?

Once in the backyard, Evan motioned to Pidgeot.

"Come here and squat down," he instructed. "I'll ride on your back, and you'll fly us there. I'll guide you."

Pidgeot froze in shock.

What?! You want to ride me?

Though thoroughly displeased, Pidgeot complied, albeit with a heavy sigh of resignation. It would get through this… somehow.

Evan looked at Pidgeot with a playful smirk. Seeing its reluctant expression, he teased, "What? Are you upset about something?"

He patted Pidgeot's side, continuing, "You've grown so much recently. When you stand, you're almost taller than me. Riding you out would be so awesome—it'd look so cool! Imagine how many heads we'd turn."

Tsk, as if I need to be ridden to be attractive, Pidgeot grumbled internally, annoyed.

Even so, it crouched down obediently. Evan was its trainer, after all—the one who fed it, trained it, and, in Pidgeot's mind, shoveled its metaphorical poop. No matter how unwilling it felt, it had a duty to oblige.

Once Pidgeot squatted, Evan couldn't help but chuckle. He climbed onto its back in one fluid motion. Pidgeot's shiny feathers glistened in the sunlight, and its broad back provided plenty of space for Evan to sit comfortably without feeling cramped.

"All set!" Evan said, steadying himself.

Pidgeot spread its massive wings, gave a powerful flap, and rose into the air. It wobbled slightly at first, unused to carrying a rider, but quickly regained its balance. It adjusted to the added weight, flapping its wings rhythmically as it soared higher into the sky.

Once it felt stable, Pidgeot turned its head slightly to glance at Evan.

'pidg?' (Where to?)

Evan pointed southward. "Fly this way, toward the seaside. You've probably been there before, haven't you?"

Pidgeot gave a sharp nod and immediately angled toward the destination. It didn't hesitate as it accelerated, cutting through the wind with ease.

As they climbed higher, the wind whipped fiercely around them, tossing Evan's hair wildly. Evan focused, channeling his Psychic abilities to create a protective telekinetic shield around himself. The shield dulled the harsh wind, making the ride more bearable.

Riding a flying Pokémon wasn't as simple as it looked, especially one as fast as Pidgeot. At its peak, Pidgeot could reach speeds up to Mach 2. Even carrying Evan, who weighed over 100 pounds, Pidgeot still soared at an impressive pace, far from its full potential.

Glancing back at Evan's shield, Pidgeot squawked. 'Pidg?' (Should I go faster?)

Evan gave an encouraging nod. "Go ahead—speed up. Don't worry about me. I've got it covered."

With Evan's permission, Pidgeot accelerated. There was a loud boom as it broke through the sound barrier, leaving a shimmering sonic ripple in its wake. The sheer force might have thrown Evan off if not for his Psychic shield.

The ground below blurred into a continuous streak of greens and grays as Pidgeot flew faster. The cities and forests passed by in an instant. After twenty minutes of high-speed flight, Evan spotted their destination: a bustling coastal city with sparkling waters stretching into the horizon.

Evan pulled out his phone, checking the map. He leaned closer to Pidgeot. "Slow down and head in that direction," he said, pointing. "Look for the red-and-white building that looks like a Poké Ball. That's where we're landing."

Pidgeot nodded, its sharp eyes spotting the building from a distance. Adjusting its trajectory, it descended gracefully toward the Pokémon Center.

As they entered the city, people on the streets noticed the dazzling golden bird gliding overhead. Murmurs of awe spread among the crowd.

"Is that a shiny Pidgeot?" someone gasped.

"And such a striking color! It's so rare!" exclaimed another.

When Pidgeot landed elegantly in front of the Pokémon Center, its golden feathers shimmered in the sunlight. The onlookers gawked at the majestic Pokémon, some taking pictures while others whispered in amazement.

Pidgeot, however, was unfazed by their attention. It raised its head high, looking down at the crowd with a hint of disdain. Fish-lipped humans, it thought smugly. What, have you never seen a handsome Pokémon before?

Just as it began to revel in its pride, Evan pulled out a Poké Ball.

"Good job, Pidgeot," Evan said with a smile, recalling the bird into its ball before it could bask in its glory any further.
