Chapter 898: Tyrantrum Group
With firm steps, several silhouettes began to appear.
It was a sizeable group of Tyrantrum, along with a few Tyrunt.
At a glance, there were around twenty of them.
For ancient Pokémon, having a group of about twenty individuals in the modern era was already considered quite large.
Even in ancient times, a combination like this of Tyrantrum and Tyrunt was a fairly notable group.
At least, that was the impression it gave.
The leading Tyrantrum, upon seeing Cain, began to look around, searching for the Tyrunt that had been there moments before.
However, it didn't find the Tyrunt—instead, it saw Cain and his Pokémon.
Cain narrowed his eyes as he looked at the lead Tyrantrum, and his system scanned its data.
Pokémon: Tyrantrum (Dark Green)
Gender: Female
Level: 42
Type: Rock + Dragon
Ability: Strong Jaw
Held Item: None
Egg Moves: Thunder Fang, Ice Fang, Rock Polish

Learned Moves: Dragon Pulse, Iron Tail, Block, Earth Power, Stomping Tantrum
TM Moves: None
This Tyrantrum, nearly three meters tall, was clearly the leader of the group.
A female Tyrantrum.
Cain also scanned the other Tyrantrum and recorded their levels, which were around level 40. Tyrunt evolved into Tyrantrum at level 39, which explained their levels.
It seemed this group of Tyrantrum had been living in this barren plain for some time.
They hunted using the same pattern as the earlier Tyrunt.
Now that one of the young ones had been attacked, all the adults had stepped forward.
In fact, the entire group was present.
Cain smiled as he pulled out a Pokéball and then the portable Pokémon transfer device he had recently received from Meyer.
At the same time, on the island in the middle of the ocean, Porygon2 projected Cain's image.
Porygon2 retrieved Swampert's Pokéball. After getting his consent, it returned him to his Pokéball and placed it in the transfer device, making it disappear from the island.
Instantly, Cain held Swampert's Pokéball in his hand.
He threw two Pokéballs at once.
Swampert and Politoed appeared together.
With Politoed's appearance, the sky over the plain began to fill with dark clouds.
However, the clouds soon dissipated, as Cain had not ordered the rain to start.
Without a Pokémon with the Swift Swim ability, and considering Pupitar and Lairon were present, the rain wouldn't be beneficial.
Even so, with Swampert and Politoed on the field, there wouldn't be too much pressure in facing the Tyrantrum and Tyrunt.
Their levels were considerably high.
In fact, their presence was mainly to support Pupitar, Lairon, and Combusken.
"Pupitar, Stealth Rock and Precipice Blades."
"Lairon, Magnet Rise then Head Smash."
"Combusken, use Agility."
Cain gave his Pokémon their commands.
Pupitar used Stealth Rock immediately, since a joint charge from the Tyrantrum could be terrifying.
Also, this would be the first real battle where he used Precipice Blades since learning it.
Even though the version of the move was incomplete, it was still very effective.
Being a Ground-type move, it would deal double damage to the Tyrantrum.
Lairon, with electric currents running through his limbs, though not able to fully levitate due to his weight, lightened the load on his legs and began charging forward like a rhinoceros.
Combusken followed, matching his speed.
When they were close to the Tyrantrum, Combusken delivered a powerful kick to Lairon's back leg.
Lairon used the momentum to charge even faster, while Combusken launched into the air thanks to the rebound force.
Swampert and Politoed joined the charge.
Swampert, who hadn't fought in a long time, wore a fierce expression.
Dense earth energy gathered in his fists as the muscles in his arms tensed. He struck directly at the lead Tyrantrum's face.
Pupitar, Lairon, and Combusken couldn't handle the lead Tyrantrum alone, so Swampert had to step in.
Politoed also made a high leap, showing his impressive jumping ability, as he formed a spinning water sphere in his hands and launched it at another Tyrantrum.
"Ralts, it's your turn!" said Cain, patting his Pokémon as she floated beside him, cheering on her teammates.
"Riilss!" she said with a playful grin before floating higher.
A fine pink mist began to surround her.
Misty Terrain.
As a Psychic and Fairy-type Pokémon, she had learned from Slowking in the psychic domain, while Florges' training had helped her master the Fairy type.
Although it was her first time using the move, the mist spread quickly, covering all the Pokémon.
The Tyrantrum immediately felt the effects of the mist, which started to bother them.
Even though Ralts was a low level, the mist managed to cause them some discomfort.
Boom!
Swampert's punch struck the leader Tyrantrum's head, taking her down effortlessly.
The difference in levels and the type advantage were just too great.
However, Swampert didn't continue attacking.
This battle was meant to be mainly for Pupitar, Lairon, and Combusken.
Lairon endured enemy attacks head-on, launching powerful counterattacks with Combusken's support.
Pupitar, despite lacking visible limbs, was still agile.
In fact, thanks to his control over the compressed gases inside him, he was more agile than when he was a Larvitar.
Sharp earthen spikes emerged from the ground, striking the Tyrantrum or Tyrunt in the stomach.
Swampert, watching the scene, instinctively closed his legs with an uneasy feeling.
Politoed kept fighting. Although his level was similar to the Tyrantrum, he displayed impressive combat skill.
Combusken, the fastest of them, moved between the Tyrantrum, who, due to their large size, had a hard time catching him.
Over time, his speed had reached its peak.
