Evening approached.

After battling all day, Kalia returned to her room at the library and took some time to rest.

Lian emerged from his Poké Ball, walked over to Kalia's backpack, and retrieved the two Move Disks marked with Iron Tail and Metal Claw. He then placed them in front of Kalia.

"Charmeleon, you want to watch these Move Disks?" Kalia observed Charmeleon's actions, picked up both disks, and noticed they were Steel-type attack moves, which generally wouldn't suit a Fire-type like Charmeleon.

Lian nodded; for him, these represented valuable Combat Points, so he definitely wanted to learn them.

"But these won't be very useful for you." Kalia found it puzzling; understanding Iron Tail was reasonable due to its decent power despite being a Steel-type move, but Metal Claw seemed less practical now that Charmeleon already had Flamethrower as a formidable skill.

Lian shook his head, pointing insistently with his claw at the Move Disks, indicating he must watch them. With only two Move Disks available, there was no way he would pass up the chance to learn from them.

"All right, but let Grovyle and Vulpix watch as well," Kalia ultimately agreed. The Iron Tail move was decent; after evolving, both Sceptile and Vulpix would have tails suitable for attempting to learn this technique. There was no harm in giving it a try.

If they learned it, it adds another move to their repertoire. If not, there's no loss of practice time, considering it isn't a crucial skill.

Shortly thereafter, at the Pokémon Center.

Kalia borrowed a Move Disk player from the center, releasing all three Pokémon to watch together.

She decided to start with the Iron Tail Move Disk, inserted it into the player, and turned it on. The demonstration video for Iron Tail began playing.

Lian sat on the ground, watching the familiar scene featuring Smeargle and Lillipup. When Smeargle unleashed Iron Tail, its tail glowed white, becoming incredibly hard, and swiftly struck Lillipup, instantly defeating it.

After viewing it once, Lian grasped the concept fairly well. He was no longer the inexperienced Charmander he once was. Mastery in one element translates to understanding others. As his control over Fire-type energy improved, so did his comprehension of similar moves from different attributes.

Before watching the Move Disk, Lian already had a general understanding of how to execute Iron Tail, thanks to his memories from his previous life. Unlike ordinary Pokémon who would be clueless.

Iron Tail involves channeling Steel-type energy into the tail, making it hard and sturdy. By swiftly swinging and striking with the reinforced tail, opponents can be inflicted with significant damage.

Iron Tail has a high power rating of 100, but its accuracy is relatively low. The infusion of Steel-type energy not only hardens the tail but also makes it heavier. Unless exceptionally agile like Pikachu in the anime, a Pokémon like Tyranitar, with its naturally cumbersome build, would find using Iron Tail even more challenging due to increased weight.

Lian watched the demonstration repeatedly, gradually grasping the essence of the Iron Tail move. With his own tail, he was well-suited for learning this technique.

After viewing Iron Tail over ten times, Kalia switched to Metal Claw, turned on the player, and began playing its instructional video.

Metal Claw shares similarities with Iron Tail; both moves operate on similar principles. Metal Claw relies on Steel-type energy to make the claws harder and sharper, enabling direct attacks against opponents.

Attack moves generally require less energy, relying mostly on the Pokemon's own strength. Lian wasn't concerned about insufficient Steel-type energy to learn these techniques.

"Alright, let's head back now."

Feeling drowsy, Kalia yawned and clapped her hands, ready to leave. If not for Charmeleon's insistence on visiting, she wouldn't have come at all.

In fact, most of the Move Disks in her backpack were intended for Sceptile, primarily Grass-type moves.

Charmeleon already had Flamethrower, so there was no immediate need for additional Fire-type moves. They could wait until later to learn advanced techniques like Inferno. There was plenty of time.

While Flamethrower isn't the pinnacle of Fire-type moves, stronger alternatives often come with side effects or drawbacks.

For example, Inferno suffers from slow release speed, and Exploding Flame involves consuming all available flame energy to explosively release it, leaving the Pokemon immobilized due to adverse effects.

While there are numerous Fire-type moves with side effects, only a few offer greater stability and power compared to Flamethrower.

Back at the library, Kalia began training her Pokemon. In the Battle Tower battles, Vulpix had limited opportunities due to its insufficient strength, making regular training essential.

Kalia planned to wait until Vulpix evolves into Ninetales before engaging it in practical combat training, as by then, Ninetales would be sufficiently powerful.

On the open field, Kalia gently stroked Vulpix's head and said warmly, "Vulpix, in just a few days, I'll have you evolve into Ninetales. Then, you can join Charmeleon in battles."

Vulpix responded joyfully, clearly excited about evolving—an aspiration shared by all Pokemon seeking to become stronger.

Smiling, Kalia commenced Vulpix's move practice session.

Obtaining the Fire Stone was imminent, bringing Vulpix close to evolution. Once that happens, she could integrate Vulpix into actual combat training. Although initially, Vulpix might struggle with the high-intensity battles, such experiences are crucial for growth.

Hearing that Vulpix would evolve soon brought joy to Lian as well. However, it seemed there weren't any notable moves for Ninetales that he could learn immediately. He couldn't master Nasty Plot, and Inferno or Flamethrower were already within Charmeleon's capabilities.

Overall, evolving Vulpix into Ninetales had its advantages. In regular battles, Lian's biggest concern was dealing with status conditions. With the potential to learn Safeguard upon evolution, once activated, it significantly reduced the chances of falling into any abnormal states. This would alleviate his worries about such conditions.

Later at night, inside system space.

Today's combat rating was impressive, earning him nearly three thousand Combat Points. His total now stood at 3524 points, allowing for significant increases in Control Rating.

Reflecting on the earlier battle with Ampharos, Lian recalled how the Pokémon used Charge to absorb the electrical particles from Ion Deluge, creating an Electric Barrier around its skin, providing remarkable defensive capabilities.

Lian considered attempting something similar, developing a flame-based protective layer. However, he knew it would be challenging and require extensive experimentation within the system space first.

Without hesitation, Lian spent all his 3,000 Combat Points on increasing the Energy Control Rating. It jumped from 22% to 25%, leaving him with 524 points remaining.

"Can still improve further."

Not yet satisfied, Lian glanced at the moves section. As expected, two additional moves appeared: Metal Claw and Iron Tail, both initially dimmed. He promptly activated them.

After unlocking these moves, Lian checked the Energy Control Rating. With the acquisition of Steel-type moves, his Steel-type Energy Control Rating increased from 0% to 4%, each move contributing 2%.

In the next moment, the Steel-type Control Rating reset to 0%, while his Combat Points surged from 504 to 1,304. Lian continued enhancing his Fire-type Energy Control Rating, raising it to 26%.

"A 26% Control Rating is not enough, but I've run out of Combat Points now."

Although he felt it was still inadequate, Lian had depleted his Combat Points for the day, so he would have to continue tomorrow.

Next, Lian focused on his daily tasks, starting with precise energy control practice, followed by refining his Fire Punch technique. Learning Metal Claw provided valuable insights that helped him progress faster with mastering Fire Punch.
