Pokémon: A Trainer Who Masters the Six Powers from the Start

On the third morning since arriving in Fuchsia City, it was finally time for Ron's Gym battle to begin.

From the moment he left the Pokémon Center, Ron had a faint feeling of being watched.

Without much thought, Ron could guess it was likely people from the Wade family keeping tabs on him.

What puzzled him, however, was why a family as established as the Wade clan would go to such lengths to antagonize him over his refusal to sell the Qualification Badge.

If they were truly this petty, how had they managed to develop into such a powerful entity?

Unaware that he had been marked as a trial target for Dunn, Ron naturally couldn't understand the underlying schemes.

Shrugging off these concerns, Ron took confident strides into the Fuchsia Gym.

Standing on the other side of the battlefield was Koga, dressed in full ninja attire. Ron couldn't help but admire the man.

Regardless of his methods, Koga had managed to balance two different allegiances, continuously expanding his power and influence, eventually earning his place as one of the Elite Four in the Johto region.

"Both sides, release your first Pokémon!"

As the referee's voice rang out, Ron set aside all distractions and released his Bellossom to face off against Koga's Weezing.

Currently, Bellossom was on the verge of breaking through to a higher level. Whenever he found a suitable opponent, Ron made it a priority for Bellossom to participate in battle, even when faced with a type disadvantage against Poison-types.

"Bellossom, use Magical Leaf!"

At Ron's command, shimmering green leaves materialized, signaling the start of the battle.

"Weezing, use Sludge Bomb!"

A large glob of sludge was hurled toward the Magical Leaf, erupting upon impact.

The sludge corroded the enchanted leaves, causing them to wither and fall lifelessly to the ground.

"Bellossom, Shave: Hexagram Formation!"

As soon as the Magical Leaf attack was countered, Ron issued another command.

"Weezing, quickly ascend and use Smog!"

Noticing Bellossom's instantaneous movement disappearing from view, Koga swiftly ordered his Weezing.

Hovering in midair, Weezing rose higher while releasing a thick smog from its mouths.

Unfortunately, Weezing's speed wasn't fast enough. A green blur flashed by, and the sudden burst of pain interrupted its ascent.

Bellossom launched attacks from multiple angles, forming a glowing green hexagram around Weezing.

"Bellossom, Shave: Hexagram Formation!"

"Weezing, use Gyro Ball!"

Learning from the previous hit, Koga switched tactics, instructing Weezing to use Gyro Ball to directly counter Bellossom's assaults.

Spinning rapidly, Weezing transformed into a purple, oval-like projectile.

Bellossom's green silhouette clashed against the spinning Weezing, even creating sparks from the collision.

Thanks to Bellossom's superior level, Weezing was the first to falter, sent flying by Bellossom's decisive Leaf Blade strike.

"Weezing, set a Toxic Spikes trap!"

"Bellossom, charge in and use Shave: Swords Dance!"

The instant they separated, both trainers issued commands.

Weezing sprayed toxic liquid, spreading it across the ground to block Bellossom's approach.

With graceful footwork, Bellossom effortlessly avoided the toxic patches, closing the distance while spinning its Leaf Blade with precision.

"Weezing, Gyro Ball again!"

Instead of retreating, Weezing stood its ground, spinning aggressively to meet Bellossom's attack head-on.

However, this time, Bellossom used softer, controlled strikes to suppress Weezing's offensive, steadily gaining the upper hand while also boosting its attack power by two levels.

"Weezing, tackle for a Double Hit!"

With both Pokémon at close range, Koga opted for direct offense, hoping to force Bellossom into creating some distance.

Poison-types like Weezing, with slower speed, were best suited for wearing down opponents gradually. The biggest danger for them was being overwhelmed in close combat.

Unfortunately, against Bellossom's lightning-fast movements, Koga couldn't deploy Weezing's ideal strategies and found himself on the defensive.

"Bellossom, Shave: Swords Dance!"

Combining Shave's speed with Swords Dance's fluidity and Leaf Blade's power, Bellossom effortlessly neutralized Weezing's attack, maintaining a distance where it could strike at any moment.

"Weezing, seal the area with Toxic Spikes!"

"Bellossom, use Magical Leaf to intercept Weezing's Toxic Spikes!"

Before the toxic liquid could land on the ground, Bellossom's Magical Leaf blocked it midair.

Holding a vibrant green Leaf Blade, Bellossom's presence alone sent chills down Weezing's spines.

"Weezing, use Clear Smog!"

Sensing imminent danger, Koga hastily called for a counter. But it was too late.

Before Weezing could release Clear Smog, Bellossom used Shave to close the gap, appearing directly in front of it.

With a radiant green hexagram glowing around it, Bellossom delivered a decisive blow, ending the battle in one strike.

"Return, Weezing. Crobat, you're up next!"

"Bellossom, Moonlit Bamboo Shadows!"

A combination of Moonlight and Magical Leaf engulfed Crobat in a mystical light.

"Crobat, counter with Steel Poison Blades!"

Koga's voice rang out as Crobat used Steel Wing combined with Cross Poison, shattering Bellossom's combo.

Bellossom immediately leaped into the air, its glowing Leaf Blade slashing down onto Crobat's wings.

With a simple yet powerful strike, Crobat's wings were injured.

Struggling to maintain balance with its remaining wing, Crobat quickly distanced itself from Bellossom.

"Bellossom, Moonlit Bamboo Shadows!"

Landing gracefully on the ground, Bellossom executed its move combination once again.

Under the moonlight, a cascade of green leaves danced in the air, creating a breathtakingly beautiful scene. Yet, to Koga and his Crobat, there was no beauty to be found in it.

"Crobat, retreat and use Shadow Ball Barrage!"

With one wing injured, Crobat's speed and balance were significantly impaired, making it nearly impossible to execute complex move combinations.

Left with no other choice, Koga instructed Crobat to retaliate with its simplest move.

"Chase it down, Bellossom! Keep using Moonlit Bamboo Shadows in rapid succession!"

Relentlessly pressing forward and targeting Crobat's weaknesses, Ron directed Bellossom to overwhelm its opponent with sheer force.

Even with its Level 41 strength, Crobat was utterly outmatched by Bellossom. It struggled to find a way to break free from its predicament.

The injury to its wing worsened with every movement, making defeat inevitable.

"That's enough. I concede."

Before Crobat's injuries could worsen further, Koga ended the battle.

In the two battles they fought, Koga's Weezing was swiftly neutralized in the first round by Bellossom's speed, leaving no room for it to demonstrate its true strength.

The second battle was even more frustrating. Right from the start, Bellossom disabled Crobat by rendering its wings ineffective, cutting its battle prowess in half.

Fortunately, Koga's composure was impeccable. Despite two frustrating defeats, he maintained his calm demeanor as he handed the Soul Badge to Ron.

"Thank you for the match," he said with a steady tone.

After offering a polite response, Roen calmly turned and left, showing no trace of excitement or joy despite having defeated Koga in two straight battles.

Up next, Ron would have to deal with the relentless pursuit of Dunn.
