Chapter 107: The Agent Working as a Security Guard and the Voodoo Gang_2

Potato: "I guess this part of the game's history uses the Vietnam War and the conflict between Israel and Palestine as its background... I heard it was quite a big deal back then."

Mann blinked. He knew about the Vietnam War; it indeed felt similar to the Central American battlefields, but the Israel-Palestine conflict...

Which country is that?

Mann didn't go to school, so he didn't even know that Palestine had a presence.

Yet upon hearing that someone had self-immolated at the United States Federal Embassy entrance, he couldn't help but feel admiration.

"He's a real man, stronger than me. What's his name?"

"Seems like it's Aaron."

"Come, let's drink to Aaron."

The three raised their glasses and drank it all in one go.

"Damn it, why can you guys understand things, but that guy just can't?"

"Hmm?"

The two standing around immediately perked up their ears upon hearing Mann's complaints.

"Who is that person?"

"An idiot who believed in New Federal propaganda. He was the one who dragged me into the military back then." Mann was already drunk, muttering under his breath.

"He's loyal to New America like a dog, joined the intelligence agency, even wanted to pull me in too, but I refused. And guess what happened?"

"What happened?"

"Back then he was doing well in the intelligence agency; everyone said he was no worse than the previous Morgan Blackhand. But then? After the Unification War, Military Science didn't dare offend Huang Ban, so they sold him out!"

Bang!

The glass in Mann's hand was shattered by this big guy, leaving shards scattered on the ground.

The more he thought about it, the angrier he got!

"We did so much for Military Science and New America; some became disabled, others got PTSD, and what came of it? No compensation, no retirement pay, each sitting on the street like a pack of stray dogs waiting to die!"

"Many thought that guy was dead, but do you know? Just last year, I saw that idiot working as a bartender in a Haywood bar!"

Mann still remembered entering Dino's Bar and seeing that hulking, low-eyed security guard.

Others didn't recognize him, but there was no way Mann, who fought together, wouldn't recognize him.

That black guy was Solomon Li De!

"The ace of New America intelligence agency, Li De made monumental contributions for them. And what happened? Sold out to Huang Ban, barely escaped and now only dares to work as a security guard in a bar, not even daring to reveal his name, like a mouse!"

"Damn it, screw you New America!"

Mann cursed and poured more booze into himself, then slammed onto the table, snoring loudly.

The two, Jughead and Potato, were a bit surprised.

And after the surprise came excitement.

The ace agent of New America intelligence.

Survived and now works as a bartender in a Haywood bar in Night City.

Isn't this a hidden quest line?

This game really knows how to hide stuff, burying new version content in an old NPC from one or two versions ago. If they weren't cunning... ah no... wise, they would have missed it!

So thrilling!

It's just a shame Brother Ni couldn't sit still and went on a mission with Sword Saint.

......

Compared to the sewers elsewhere, Taiping Continent's sewers are a bit cleaner.

Of course, this is largely due to Taiping Continent's construction being halted because of the Unification War.

The population in this area is far less dense than in other places, so the sewers aren't that dirty, and many parts are in an abandoned dry state.

However, this also makes it easier for players to encounter people while exploring Taiping Continent.

Sword Saint: "I'm telling you, yesterday right here, I heard strange noises. It sounded like someone talking, but it was all gibberish, couldn't understand a thing, but most likely it wasn't anything good."

As players who are passionate about exploring the sewers, after learning about the situation in Taiping Continent and Dogtown, they leaned towards scanning tasks in Taiping Continent when it came to sewers.

Wanting to see if they could find a secret passage leading to the suspected high-level dungeon — Dogtown.

Thus, the development progress was quicker than other areas, and for those who died frequently, this was a low-risk and reasonably rewarding exploration task.

The blind boxes can yield quite a lot of useful stuff to fill the combat power gap.

"Couldn't understand? Saving money even on voice packs?"

The alluring lady summoned by Sword Saint was somewhat surprised. This isn't the real world, yet with a voice pack installed there's still incomprehensible speech?

Brother Ni thought for a moment and said, "Could be Haitian Creole. It's not among the seventeen languages in the standard voice pack, and there are a lot of Haitians here."

The alluring lady: "Haiti? That bizarre place little John mentioned?"

"Yeah." Brother Ni nodded, he was more interested in the game's backstory, so he researched more.

"According to Taiping Continent's backstory, Haiti had a tsunami caused by an earthquake back in the day, leading many to illegally immigrate to Night City. There's a strong Haitian culture in Taiping Continent, and these people are very exclusive, don't get along with the locals, so Sword Saint's voice pack not translating Haitian Creole is normal."

The alluring lady patted his shoulder, saying with admiration, "As expected of Brother Ni, you really know Brother Ni well, Ubisoft should invite you to be a character planner for Shadows."

"Get lost!"

Talking about this got Brother Ni irritated, but fortunately, he no longer cared about Ubisoft or anything. Don't they want diversity and ZZZQ? He's done catering, whoever wants to play those dumb games can play them.

"Hurry up and download the Haitian Creole voice pack, it's in the system store."

"What's the point in finding a bunch of black guys."
