B2 | Chapter 14
Aqua
It ends up taking me another day before my heart injury finally fully recovers. And while I could've easily continued battling during that time even with the wound, I'd rather not risk it.
So as soon as the injury is fully recovered, I head back to the second cavern.
Only to find what's practically a mountain of shredded monster parts flooding the latter half of the tunnel.
Huh?
[Well that's quite a sight…]
[I guess we know why the monsters haven't entered her cavern…]
[That's a lot of body parts]
[So many…]
[I just lost my appetite.]
Well then. The viewers are right about one thing. This does explain why none of the monsters entered the first cavern.
All of these body parts and corpses are covering up the smell of the living coming from the first cavern. Coming from me.
And even the undead that may have just wandered into the tunnel would've turned around at this sight because of just how much clutter there is here. With these corpses and body parts covering the tunnel.
I purse my lips for a moment before going ahead and activating Abyssal Ruler on the corpses and shredded bodies here.
To my pleasant surprise, I find it actually working on quite a few of the corpses and shredded bodies. Albeit not all of them.
Which ends up giving me quite a few new abyssal servants. While also clearing up a lot of the tunnel in the process.
Although the sight of the monsters regrowing most of their bodies as the aura expands to form the size of their original bodies is a little disturbing to see.
But once they finish reforming again, I send them further into the tunnel before following after them. Only to see a rather empty cavern upon leaving the tunnel.
Uh…
Where are the monsters?
[Did she kill all the monsters in the cavern during that chase?]
[What happened?]
[Just how many monsters did she tear to shreds with that skill of hers…?]
[It's so empty…]
Hmm…
I guess that would explain all those levels.
Without hesitation, I begin slaughtering the rest of the remaining monsters in here. Which is pretty much just a few. Enough that I don't even have to participate in the slaughter. I just send the abyssal servants to deal with them for me.
Then I begin searching the cavern to see if there's anything in here. Only to not find anything at all.
If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
Not a single other monster besides those finished off by my servants. And not a single item.
It's just a cavern with a lot of water in it and a large hole at the center of the cavern leading out into the sky above a sea.
And when one of my abyssal servants is pushed into that hole by some of the monsters they're fighting, it just vanishes into a deep blue almost black mist. Reminding me that my servants can't leave the water.
Fucking hell. That's annoying.
This battle is going to be intense and difficult.
Because it means I can't summon my abyssal servants until I'm down there. I can't bring servants down since they'll just dissipate the moment they reach the open air part.
I'll also have to figure out how to even get down there without being hurt. Since there is a massive height between here and the water that I'll have to fall. And my strength will be going down when I'm out of the water.
Then again, strength doesn't really affect my constitution much. Even if my constitution does affect my strength.
I try to think of solutions before one comes to mind. One that hasn't been as useful lately but will be useful here.
Right. How could I forget Call of the Abyss?
I glance at my mana to find it almost full. And while I normally would've waited until after it regenerates at midnight, if I wait, then I'll just be losing the current abyssal servants I have summoned and will have to resummon them.
Which will take even more mana than I'm currently missing to do.
So it's best to just go now.
I take a deep breath before letting it out as I begin making plans for how to deal with this monster.
It's clear that its eyes will be its weakest point. Seeing as the rest of it is covered either by scales or its exoskeleton on the crab-like parts.
And with its level being so high, I can't see myself managing to break through its scales or exoskeleton.
Then there's the inside of its body.
If I can't attack it through its eyes, I might be able to enter its mouth without being hurt by its teeth. Then I can attack it from the inside.
This monster is certainly large enough for that after all.
Putting all that aside though, the reward I'll be getting from killing this thing will be incredible.
Not only will I get a Special Core that will unlock a new Hidden Stat, but I'll also get the chance to extract the boss's blueprint. Which will be incredibly useful for me.
Although it'll also be a little inconvenient to summon. Considering this monster's size.
I won't exactly be able to summon its abyssal servant in a cavern after all.
It's just way too large.
I narrow my eyes while looking down at the boss.
If the thing does have eyes, then I think my best bet is to use my new claw skill to pierce straight into its eyes and begin digging a route into its body. But if it doesn't have eyes, then I should enter its mouth directly and before it can try chewing me.
And the best way I can think of to do that would be to send swarms of abyssal servants into its mouth to block it when it tries to chew me.
I continue watching the creature as it stays unmoving at the bottom of the sea for a while. Then I look through my skills again to come up with a plan.
And after doing that for several minutes, I finally begin the plan that I come up with.
Starting with stretching my hand out into the open air beneath the cavern before using Call of the Abyss. Just in case it doesn't count that cavern as part of the room I'm in.
And the moment I use the skill, water begins pouring into the open air of the sea like a tidal wave. Flooding the room in less than a minute.
But despite that, the boss doesn't so much as move an inch.
It continues staying at the bottom of the sea without opening anything that would resemble eyes. Not even so much as twitching.
Then I command my abyssal servants to rush straight down through the flooding water towards the sea below. And I follow right after them without hesitation.
All while summoning more and more abyssal servants along the way.
At the very least I managed to increase my mana by a few hundred total since first entering this dungeon. So I have a much higher capacity now.
But I don't move at the same pace as my abyssal servants. Instead moving a bit slower than them and letting them go first.
After all, I don't want to risk being torn apart just from getting too close.
It's best to test the monster first.
So I have my abyssal servants charge straight at the massive monster. Creating the sight of an army of my abyssal servants consisting of large sharks, undead creatures, haunted ships, and more all rushing straight at an enormous monster spanning over an entire kilometer in length.
Which quickly has the chat going crazy with awe, fear, and shock.
But I ignore it all as the monster itself finally begins to move the moment my abyssal servants make it halfway to it.
And, of course, I make sure to keep the orcas from Call from the Abyss back at the entrance to that cavern. With some abyssal servants there to help guard them just in case.
My brows furrow and I narrow my eyes at the monster.
Feeling serious and not lazy for the first time in quite a while.
Because this battle will be an intense one.
