Chapter 22: 21. Turning point [Arc 2. Sinful colors]
The clash of cyclones shook the ground and made the string of sky rumble; the elves were completely astonished; their sobbing eyes shifted with awe.
Princess Mia swung her fist deeply into the face of Marquez the Wise; her cunning grin painted around her. She smacked her laughter widely; the man formed a spear out of his grief and released it at the Princess. They plugged each other with faster attacks; the two were showing their potential blasts.
Hippocrates the apothecary, Ronson the vocalist, and Lhara, along with the other girls, were taken aback; even the cockroaches laying in the corner pointed their gazes at the two.
"Elder, why are you doing this?!" the tiny Princess pressed, blocking the man's attacks.
"Looking for a particular reason?" Marquez the Wise countered, continuously striking the Princess with his kicks, fists, and spears.
Princess Mia laughed and shifted her eyes to the ground; mud swallowed the man's feet, and she snuck up to hit him. She managed to land a combination of pounces and kicks.
Marquez the Wise glanced to his side and saw Kimberly with an inscription engulfing her body; he gnashed his teeth and changed his prey. Kimberly stood up and tried to run away; after she glanced at her back, the man suddenly appeared with a luminance aura.
The man struck her, but the Princess blocked it with her fist. "Tsk…royalties are shit! You're giving me a headache!" Marquez the Wise muttered, gripping the tension inside his head.
Hippocrates summoned another demonoid; this time, a huge beast emerged, towering almost the entire building. It was a demonoid titan; its skin was gray and dead, and an unknown liquid was flowing through its neck.
Ronson blasted a tiny seed around the area; he then proceeded to sing a drastic melody, fleeing around. The seeds slowly grew and became plant beasts; their bodies seemed to be trees but had eyes and mouths that sprouted grass that turned into spiral thorns. They lured the terrified elves into the middle.
"I'm your enemy!" Lhara shouted, narrowing her gaze at Ronson. She picked up her silver sword and pointed it at the man.
Ronson quickly dashed toward Lhara, and his plant beasts surrounded the girl. Lhara swung her sword smoothly, chopping the plant beasts into pieces. Ronson shifted his gaze to the upper part of the theater and jumped out of his position.
Huge hands emerged and struck the area, leaving only cloudy dust. The demonoid titan slowly raised its arm, and the dusty ground cleared by the waving air, revealing a crimson girl shielding Lhara.
"Time for the second round!" Kiyara muttered, looking at the apothecary.
Lady Mirae stared at the moon and started to play her flute, chanting throughout the area. The anti-magic seal in the corner was torn apart due to the huge Titan's attack.
The other elves started to run for their lives, shouting and sobbing; their tears, like diamonds, cascaded into the river. They were too occupied to make a right move, so they ran in every direction.
Kimberly and her older sister, Kiyara, encircled the demonoid Titan. Kiyara grabbed the beast's attention and ran inside the Capulet mansion; the Titan followed her trail, destroying the mansion. While the Titan was making smoke, Kimberly prepared for an inscription spell to attack the Titan.
Meanwhile, Lady Mirae was playing her flute, thinking about the unease she felt before they entered the Capulet theater. She inspected the anti-magic seal only to find out that it was fake. She scratched her head and shifted her gaze to the apothecary.
"Care to explain yourself!" she muttered, glaring into Hippocrates' eyes.
The apothecary quickly summoned another demonoid elf and attacked Lady Mirae with his curse binder, but the lady only fled and snuck up on his back. Hippocrates made a barrier before the lady grabbed him, preventing her from attacking him.
The Princess' laughter became more and more eminent throughout the area; she almost forgot her dying parents. Luckily, Lady Mirae managed to strike and knock the apothecary unconscious and made her way to the king and queen.
Kiyara took her tickling pounce out of the mansion, jumping in the windows; Kimberly finished her chanting, gazing at the mansion with raging cherry eyes.
"Explode!!" she muttered, and a dark ball emerged from above the towering mansion and slowly descended, wreaking havoc in everyone's minds.
As the blast destroyed the mansion along with the Titan inside, Princess Mia and Marquez the Wise struck each other in unison. A huge blast of light illuminated the area, blinding and making everyone hear the abyss of silence.
The smoke dressed out like a bride in a wedding ceremony, chanting everyone's attention and making them amused with narrowed eyes; the uncertainties locked their movements.
"Cough, cough…cough, sniff…sniff" Princess Mia gasped for breath, glancing at the dusty surroundings.
She moved her body, but the thousands of dust particles seemed to have a huge effect on her; her aura had also undone, leaving her more confused.
While the janitor wind was dusting the area, everyone waited for him to finish his work and stop their movements.
As the dust slowly perished from the period of a girl, the tattered light of the crimson ball in the dark sky illuminated, and the broken structure greeted them.
Marquez the Wise moved his body, but to his surprise, nothing even happened. He gazed in front of him, trying to find the Princess and thinking that it was part of her plans. But he found the girl glaring at him with confusion.
He shifted his gaze and found that everyone seemed frozen, unable to move: the elves that were running around, their sobbing faces, and the other girls who were fighting him before, caught out by the unknown magic.
"Wh…the heck happened?" Kimberly muttered; her confused voice was eminent.
"You played another trick, hah! Elder!" Lady Mirae mumbled; her voice was soft and gentle. "You're too unfair; can't you stop this play! You already killed a lot!" she added, biting her lip.
"Hah?" Marquez the Wise mumbled, trying to make sense.
"Stop this; I'm afraid of heights!" Kiyara muttered; her voice was painted with fear; her eyes were hinting with tears; her body froze in the air while she jumped out of the mansion's window.
The song of silence and uncertainties echoed around like flying birds. The moonlight revealed a man walking out of the ruined mansion.
His eyes were sparkling like a flare of light; his silver hair was slowly dancing in the waves of wind, creating a crescent view. His steps were the only music around; the crippled, tormented bodies of everyone were scattered with curiosity as they asked themselves who and why this guy was the only one who could move around.
He gazed at the Princess and Marquez the Wise, who were frozen without any idea what had just happened. His distance unveiled his full appearance: a man with a six-foot-tall height and raging lavender eyes was staring with amusement; his long and soft ears were blushing like a rose in the woods.
An eminent red aura emerged from him, making everyone tremble. He unleashed his domain and stopped the movement of everyone, creating a huge opportunity for his divisive move. He bit his lip, and red liquid cascaded from the wound.
"Don't enjoy this event by yourselves! Did you guys forget to invite me?!" he muttered, glancing at the theater.
Princess Mia tried to speak, but her mouth sprouted nothing but a sigh. She pointed her attention to the man, trying to unlock her aura, but it was seized in a mere blink.
Marquez's chin almost fell down upon seeing the elf; his rage overflowed in his veins. He gnashed his teeth, controlling his anguish. "Curse you! Curse you!" he muttered in his thoughts.
"Lavareamor!" Marquez the Wise muttered; his voice was mixed with sorrow and guilt.
