Chapter 206: 206:Time To Summon The Power Of Family
A suffocating pressure pressed down on Ethan, followed by a strong wave of murderous intent that seemed to choke the very air around him.
His chest tightened as if something heavy was crushing his lungs. His eyes narrowed while he stared at Kai's terrifying transformation. Instead of fear, he let out a cold snort and tightened his grip on his sword.
"Hmm. So did you change your race just to get beaten?"Ethan spoke, trying to lessen his fear.
Kai laughed.
His voice was low and deep, vibrating through the air like a drum. He bared a sharp set of fangs, his eyes glowing with madness, and replied slowly, "You talk too much for a mere huma…"
But Ethan already moved. His body blurred and he charged forward with everything he had, sword raised to strike. His aura flared violently, shaking the ground beneath him.
Kai did not even flinch. He simply lifted his hand and whispered something in a strange language that sounded ancient and twisted. Words that felt like they came from the depths of a forgotten hell. A wave of power erupted outward instantly. The ground trembled, and the space around Ethan suddenly twisted like liquid glass.
A heavy force crashed around him from all directions and froze him in place. Invisible chains locked around his body like steel binding his bones. His muscles screamed under the pressure, every vein bulging as he struggled to breathe.
His body refused to move despite him exerting all his strength.
"Damn it," Ethan muttered through gritted teeth. He pushed back with all his strength, his legs shaked and sweat dripped from his forehead.
However, nothing worked. The pressure only grew heavier. It felt like the sky itself was crushing him.
It was the pressure of a higher realm expert forcing down someone weaker. It was suffocating.
Kai pointed one finger toward him. A thin beam of glowing crimson light formed and shot forward, aiming straight for Ethan's head.
But another beam streaked in from the side and collided with Kai's attack, exploding in midair.
BOOOOM!
The shockwave pushed both forces away, sparks raining down like burning dust.
Kai's eyes widened in surprise and he snapped his head to the side. Duchess Emma appeared rushing forward to help.
Her hands glowed with blinding thunder energy that crackled around her like a storm.
Kai looked at her and just shook her head.
"Begone!"
BANGGG!
A mounting pressure slammed her down onto the ground breaking her apart.
"Ahhhhh!"
She cried out in pain, still her face was fierce, and her eyes were burning with resolve. She screamed in a voice full of fury and pain.
Duchess Emma staggered forward, clutching her chest as she felt something burning violently inside her body. The earlier hit she had taken had cracked her ribs, and blood dripped from the corner of her lips. Her breathing was rough and painful.
Every breath felt like fire spreading through her lungs. Her vision blurred slightly, but she forced her eyes to stay open.
She stared at Kai with trembling hands. The sight of her soldiers dying behind her, the screams of children echoing from the city, and the faces of her son Roen and daughter Julia flashed rapidly through her mind. The weight of her responsibility pressed on her shoulders like a mountain. She could not fall here. She refused to.
Her voice trembled as she whispered to herself, "I must protect them. I must save my people. I cannot die here. Not yet."
Something inside her snapped open like shattering glass. A violent rush of mana surged through her veins, tearing through every blockage in her body.
The pain was unbearable, like her body was being ripped apart and rebuilt at once. She dropped to one knee and pressed her palm into the ground, gasping sharply as lightning flashed wildly around her body. The air thickened and twisted, responding to her awakening.
Her aura exploded outward in a powerful burst.
The ground cracked beneath her. Storm winds whipped around her like a raging tempest. Sparks of lightning scattered through the air, crackling and slashing through the space around her. Her silver hair floated upward as her eyes lit up with a fierce golden glow.
She roared, voice hoarse but filled with determination and desperation. "I will never let you touch my people!"
In that instant, she broke through the barrier of Advanced Rank and stepped into Master Mage. Her mana surged like a living storm, wild and uncontrollable. The sky darkened overhead with clouds swirling as if answering her call. The wind screamed violently, and every nearby tree bent backward from the pressure.
Her entire body trembled under the amount of power she released. Tears of pain and relief mixed with sweat on her face. She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand and stepped forward slowly, lightning dancing around her arms.
Then she lifted both hands to the sky.
A massive spiral of storm clouds formed above her in seconds, spinning faster and faster. Wind tore through the battlefield, lifting debris high into the air. Bolts of lightning twisted through the storm like furious serpents. The magic circle beneath her feet glowed bright blue, pulsing like a heartbeat.
Her voice echoed like thunder.
"HURRICANE HOWL!"
A giant vortex of howling wind exploded forward, screaming across the battlefield and ripping apart everything in its path.
She thrust her hands again, and lightning erupted from her palms like a raging river.
"LIGHTNING JUDGMENT!"
Thousands of blinding thunderbolts crashed down into the vortex, merging and forming a massive spear of storm energy that tore through the ground as it shot toward Kai. The sky itself shook from the force.
"Die, you demon!"
She swung both arms forward and unleashed a storm of magic. A massive Hurricane spell roared to life, twisting the air into a violent vortex. Bolts of lightning shot through it and whipped forward like dragons. The wind howled so loud that the sky seemed to shake.
The attack shot toward Kai with terrifying speed. The ground ripped apart under the pressure and trees snapped like twigs.
But Kai only smirked, his eyes cold. He raised his hand and several glowing magic circles appeared instantly in front of him. They spun and overlapped, forming a wall of demonic energy. The attack crashed into it and vanished inside, swallowed whole without leaving a mark.
BOOM!
BOOOOM!
BOOOM!
Heavy bombardment fell over Kai however moments later the storm of magic disappeared like dust.
Kai tilted his head slightly and smiled. "Is this it?"
He watched her with amusement. "You came with such momentum but this…"
Emma did not stop. She charged forward, her boots digging into the ground, dirt flying behind her.
Her face twisted with frustration and rage. She clearly decided that close combat was the only chance left. Her body flashed with lightning as she leaped straight at Kai.
"Old woman... just get away," Kai muttered, his voice filled with disgust. His figure blurred and vanished.
They collided in the next second.
A deafening explosion rocked the battlefield. The ground shattered. Dust and stone shot into the air. The blast wave shoved everything backward.
Ethan's eyes widened in horror. He watched Duchess Emma's body fly through the sky like a ragdoll. Blood sprayed in all directions. Her body spun and slammed into the ground with a sickening impact. A huge crater formed under her from the force, and she lay motionless inside it, her body twisted and broken.
A deep chill crawled up Ethan's spine. His heart squeezed painfully. He could not tell if she was alive or dead.
Before he could think or move, another force slammed into him out of nowhere.
BOOM!
His body shot backward through the air like a cannonball. He bounced across the ground repeatedly, smashing through rock and dirt.
Each impact sent shockwaves ripping through the battlefield. His vision exploded with pain. His sword flew from his grip and spun away.
His mind blanked. It felt like his soul had been ripped out of him. His body finally stopped inside a huge crater. Dust settled around him. He stared up at the sky, unable to think or understand what had just happened.
A clear fist mark was carved deep into his stomach. Every breath sent a sharp wave of pain tearing through his body. His hands trembled when he tried to move.
It had been too fast. He never even saw the attack.
A shadow flickered above him. Kai landed beside him, wings spread wide. His face twisted into a wide, wicked grin, teeth razor sharp.
"It's time to die," Kai said calmly. His voice was quiet but filled with killing intent.
Ethan felt rage surge through him like fire. His hand shook violently as he pushed himself up from the broken ground. His vision blurred but he stared back at Kai with burning eyes.
"In your dreams," he muttered. "Do you think I don't have trump cards?"
He did not want to use this now. He wanted to save it for later. But he knew he had no choice left.
It was finally time for that
The thing Vin Diesel used when everything was over in Fast and Furious.
He clenched his fist and roared from the bottom of his lungs.
'System,condense the family strength!'
"Salute Mi Familia… Ahhhhh!"
BOOOOOM!!!
A massive explosion of power burst out from his body. The ground shattered. The sky shook. A bright pillar of light shot upward like a spear, tearing through the clouds.
