Our Multiverse Adventure as Gokaigers

Somewhere in the red-light district,

"Waaahhh!!" A giant cube opens up as a young girl fall out of it and landed on her butt.

"Ouch!"

"... ok, it's official. I hate cube travel now." Shinobu rubs her butt to soothe the pain.

She gets up and dust her clothes off. She then picks up the Zyuohger Ranger keys that were on the ground and put them in her pocket.

(Alright, let's get back to searching Uzui-san's wives.)

"Gokai Change."

"Zyuohger"

"Zyuoh Shark."

(I hope this works.) Shinobu then backflip and dive into the ground.

*Splash*

(Interesting. It's like I'm swimming in water. I feel no resistance from the ground at all.) Shinobu continued to dive deeper into the ground.

(Hmm, still nothing. I need to go deeper.) Shinobu speed up her movements and widen her eyes as she fell through the ceiling of the underground pit.

(Woah!) Shinobu shifted her body midair and took out a Ranger key from her belt. (I can't let the demon see me.)

"Gokai Change"

"Kyuranger."

"Cameleon Green!" 

She turns invisible mid and using Cameleon Green's ninja skills, Shinobu tried her best to land without making a sound. 

*Whoosh*

(Wow, the nest's huge. It's going to take forever to look for Uzui-san's wives in this. Well, let's get started shall we.)

Shinobu walk around the nest, occasionally jumping, to look at the woman who were captured one by one.

(Not here.)

(Nope.)

(Not them.)

(Where are they? I can't find them easily in the crowd. This'd be so much easier if I didn't have to worry about being found.)

Shinobu continued searching. After a while, she noticed a woman with yellow bangs near the top right side.

(That's Uzui's wife! If one of them is here, then maybe the other two is also here?)

She marked the place where one of Uzui's wife is before she continues. But, even after searching the whole pit, twice, Shinobu did not find the rest of Uzui's wives.

(Sigh, no luck. I could only find one of them. If I remember correctly, the crybaby was the first one to get captured but I don't see her anywhere. Maybe another change from the original?)

(For now, I should retreat and regroup with Ren. Then we can discuss how we should handle the rescue.)

"Gokai Change."

"Zyuohger."

"Zyuoh Shark." Shinobu resisted on doing the pose and swim above ground. She then jumps out of the ground and transforms back.

(I know that's Uzui-san should be in this district according to the storyline. He should be searching for his wives or the demon to show itself. Should I go look for him before meeting up with Ren?)

(Having two Hashira is more reassuring then just us facing the upper moons, even with the Sentai powers.)

(Ah well, there's no telling where he is right now, and I still want to sleep tonight.)

(Before going back, let's go check Kirimise to make sure the first wife isn't captured like she was in the manga.)

*Tutu tututu tu* *Tutu tututu tu*

Just then, Shinobu's mobirate rang. 

She opened it and answered the call.

"Shinobu, we have a situation."

"What's wrong? Did the demon catch you? Do you need me to free everyone?"

"No, but did you already discovered where Daki's keeping everyone?"

"Yes."

"Hmm...for now, let's wait on freeing everyone. I discovered some things that changed our plan."

"What happened?"

"I met Aoi in the Kyogoku house."

(Oh...He met Aoi...)

"Wait, you what! What the heck is she doing there!"

Ren could hear the distress in Shinobu voice.

"I think it's because Tanjiro and the others aren't here yet, Aoi was taken by Uzui-san."

Shinobu gripped her katana's handle, preparing herself before asking the next question.

"Is she...alive?"

"Yeah. You don't have to worry about that. She's alive and kicking. We're going to meet Uzui-san with her tomorrow afternoon."

"Thank goodness." Ren could hear the relief in her voice. 

(Uzui-san, consider yourself lucky. Your punishment went down from barely alive to injured.)

"Wow. I didn't know you cared so much about her." 

"Of course I care about her. She is my student and one of the only people I've spend time with at the butterfly mansion."

"How did you think I was going to react?"

"Well, I guess nonchalantly or at least not this extreme."

"*Hump* I'm not that heartless Ren. I'm hurt that you would think of me like that."

"Sorry. Sorry. I know my little butterfly is very compassionate."

"..."

"I also know that she's kind, sweet, playful and care very much about her friends' safety. And that she'll always be there for me when I need it."

"*Hump* And don't you forget it."

"*Hehehe* I won't."

"Good." Shinobu nodded with a smile.

"Well, meeting with Aoi aside, I think I can finally confirm my suspicions. Something or someone is making the plot follow the storyline."

"Are you sure? Couldn't it just be a coincidence?"

"No, I'm sure. Ever since I became a demon slayer, I'd face with the demons that appear in the plot at those places rather than other demons."

"First was the drum demon, then there was also Muzan's two lackies I killed."

"After that I had a mission to the spider mountain straight away. We also can't forget the train demon and Akaza. Luckily, we managed to keep Rengoku-san alive."

"With my arrival and show of powers, there should've been some changes, no matter how little it is. For example, an increase or decrease in demon activity."

"Muzan isn't the type to not care about one of his upper moons dying, at least not upper 3. But there's no change so far. There's no news of a village being wipe out or something."

"That's why I reach the conclusion that something or someone is making the plot stay on track."

"*Hmm* That could be a problem, Ren. I don't like it."

"Don't like what?"

"The thought of an unknown unstable factor."

"Yeah. Well, for now, let's just focus on the mission at hand. I'll meet you back at the inn."

"Ok. I'll come over as soon as I finish checking Kirimise."

"Got it." She prepared to hang up the mobirate when Ren's call out to her.

"Hey Shinobu..."

"Yes, Ren?"

"I love you."

"...I love you too."

Shinobu hang up the mobirate. She then jumped onto the roof tops and went back toward the Kirimise.

(Why did I hesitate? I just heard those words and froze. I've never had trouble saying that to him before, what changed?)

(I must still be dizzy from going to the cube ride or else there's no way I'd hesitate to say 'I love you' back. Yeah, that must be it. There's no need to doubt myself.) Shinobu forced herself to stop thinking about the matter and headed to Kirimise.

(But still, I love you, huh. I would've never said this kind of thing to anyone before he came into my life. Not even my sisters. If past me could see me in the present, I wonder what she'd say?)

(Oh well, there's no use thinking about something which'll never happen. Now, time to see if Uzui's wife is in Kirimise or not.)

Ren POV

"...I love you too."

(There was a delay, must've been bad connection. Wait a minute...now that I think about it, It's the taisho era! How do these things even work? ...Oh well) I shrugged. (If you can't make sense of something, it's probably magic.)

(Still...I love you, huh?) I look up at the moon. (We've been together for nearly 5 months. That night, just before the final selection, the day I met her changed my plans.)

(I was just going to train and become a demon slayer until the storyline starts or at least train until I master the breathing styles and unlock the Sentai powers.)

(But when I saw her, I was instantly captivated by her eyes.)

(I could see pain in them but also fear and loneliness.)

(Those hollow eyes reminded me of my past self. The memories I buried deep in my mind started to resurface.)

(I wanted to be there for her. I wanted to carry her burden together. But we didn't even know each other. Back then, I was judging her based on my knowledge about her from the manga and anime.)

(So, I decided to have a connection with her by making her remember me. I fought her and lost badly but I succeeded in getting inside her head, even if it's just a little.)

(Then before I know it, we met each other again at the spider mountain. Hmm, I was pretty cautious back then making plans and what not. I'm still cautious but not as much since I got the Ranger Keys.)

(*sigh* Sometimes, I wonder why I'm still following the story line instead of carpet-bombing Muzan doing the day or near dawn. I know that he uses the disguise as a child of a company owner and I'm pretty sure I can find him.)

(I guess, I'm still trying to use my knowledge from the storyline. I know this isn't an anime or manga. People can easily die. I can easily die.) Ren grip his fists. (But the thought of not knowing what'll happen tomorrow is scary, especially in this kind of world.)

(After spending time with Aoi and the girls, Urokodaki-san, Kuwajima-jii, getting to know Nobi, Rengoku-san and Shinobu, I realized that this is a real-life world. Not an anime that I watch on TV.)

(They all have their own personalities, ambitions and lives to live.)

(If I decided to do something that isn't in the storyline and someone I knows dies, it's on my hands. I don't want that to happen.)

I stop walking for a moment and look up at the sky filled with stars.

I then took a deep breath, close my eyes and opened them again to soak up the beauty of the night sky.

(Beautiful.... Just like those stars, there're infinite numbers of worlds to visit, adventures to be had, more friends to be made and countless numbers of stories to be shared.)

(When compared to that, it's It almost makes you forget that flesh eating demons exists.)

*Sigh* Ren rubbed his eyes before stretching his body.

(...You know what, after dealing with Daki and Gyutaro, I think I'll track down and attack Muzan and the Upper Moons. I can't keep waiting until the demons make the first move. After all, every journey start with one step.)

(Now then, shall we go back to the inn.) 

Shinobu's Pov

Shinobu peeked the inside of the house from the window before heading in. After a while, she came back out looking dejected.

(*Sigh* Still no luck. I checked everywhere in Kirimise and still didn't find her. Should I increase my search range to other districts?) Just as she was about to take another step, something creeps up on her.

*Yawn*~

(Today has been a long day. Guess even I get tired. Let's go back to the inn.)

Shinobu jumps from rooftop to rooftop, making sure she wasn't being followed before heading back to the inn.

(The search took long than I anticipated, Ren should be already asleep by now. Fufufu, that means I can do whatever I want, and he wouldn't noticed. He's a deep sleeper after all.)

Shinobu rushed to the inn while fantasizing about Ren.

*Thud*

She jumps from the rooftop and lands gracefully in front of the inn.

(Ren's cute sleeping face, here I come.)

Shinobu opened the sliding door with a happy mood and saw a scene that she didn't expect in her wildest dreams.

"I'll kill you!"

"Try it, you attention seeking Shinowanabe!"

"It's Shinobi! Get it right!"

She saw Ren and Uzui Tengen, who was dressed as a beautiful woman, wrestling on the floors of the inn while the staff watches from the gap of the doors.

"Ahem."

They finally noticed Shinobu who was staring them with an eerie smile and a tick mark on her head.

"Can someone tell me what's going on here?"

"Grrr…"

"Arrrr…"

Ren and Uzui glared at each other sneakily while they sit on their knees.

"Sigh, can you guys tell me what happened for you two to end up like this?"

"It's his fault!" Ren and Tengen pointed at each other!

Then they glared at each other and had a silent conversation with their eyes.

Tengen: (Why do I have to be scolded too!? It's clearly your fault!)

Ren: (My fault!? What do you mean 'My fault'! You're the one who started this! Besides, if I have to be scolded, so do you!)

Tengen; (Hump, then you underestimate my speed. I can escape this situation easily. I'm not called the fastest Hashira for nothing.)

*Whoosh*

Ren: (Oh no you don't!)

Fuuuuuu

Thunder breathing self-made fifth form: Rabbit hop!

*Wshoosh*

Tengen disappeared from Shinobu's view and tried to jump out of the open behind them. But Ren, not willing to be out done by Tengen, used his new technique which allows him rapid movement using minimal breathing to respond faster.

Bam!

Ren kicked against the window frame with half of his body out the window, holding onto Tengen's waist.

"Let go!"

"Never!"

Just as Tengen was about to punch Ren, he heard Shinobu's voice beside him.

"Ara, naughty boys will get punished." She was holding a table.

*Bam/Crack*

*Kughh*

She hit Tengen's head at the right angle with it, breaking the table and making Tengen unconscious.

I pull his unconscious body back into the room and place him one the floor. Then, Shinobu and I look at each other.

"Tea?"

"Sure. What flavor would you like?"

"*Sip* So, can you tell me what happened Ren?"

"Well, to start from the beginning…"

Ren's Pov

Ren jump down from the rooftops into the alleyway.

(*Yawn* After meeting with Tengen tomorrow, I should probably send Aoi back to the butterfly mansion. She's going to be a burden if a battle happens. I can't concentrate with knowing that she might die from a stray attack.)

He walks to the inn and notices an argument happening inside.

"Caw! You are to return Aoi Kanzaki immediately, Caw!"

"Like I said, I'll return her in one piece after the mission is over!"

"Caw! Return her now! Caw!"

"Why you little…I'll puck your feathers and make you into crow soup!" Tengen tried to catch the crow who ran away.

"Stop!"

The crow noticed Ren and flew toward him. Ren who saw this, just closed the door and headed back outside.

(Ahh, it's a nice night to take a walk.)

I didn't get to walk too far when the crow escaped from one of the open windows.

"Caw! Success, Caw!"

"Get back here!"

"Uzui-san jumps after the crow, but the crow managed to escape by a feather. Instead, by some luck, his landing place was exactly where I was standing. So, as any normal person would do, I dashingly move out of the way."

"Then, Uzui-san landed on the ground. He made fun of me. We fought, I won. After I won, I decided to teach him a lesson by making him dress up as a girl himself, but he woke up in the middle of it and you know the rest."

"...Ren...is that really what happened?"

"Yep."

"Of course it isn't!" Shinobu turn to look at the voice.

"Ara, Uzui-san, you're finally awake."

Tengen who has now woken up glared at us, especially me.

"I'll tell you what really happened."

"I was arguing with Oyakata-sama's crow when he showed up...."

"Like I said, I'll return her in one piece after the mission is over!"

The sound of an opening door stopped their arguing for a moment.

Ren look at the scene in front of him and took a deep breath. 

"Ah, it's you; the boy from the Hashira meeting. What are you doing here?"

"*Sigh* I can't deal with you right now."

"Hmm, what's that supposed to mean?" As Ren was closing the door, he remembers something and stopped.

"Just answer me this. Why did you take Aoi?"

"Aoi? Oh, you mean that girl from Kocho's place?"

"Why did you take her to that place when it's obvious that she can't even defend herself when a demon shows up." I asked seriously.

Looking at my face, Tengen didn't refused.

"Time."

"Time?"

"Yeah.

"I was in a hurry, and I grabbed the closest one that I could find."

"That's your reason?" Ren clenched his fists.

(I can understand his reason. He was worried about his wives and didn't think this through very well. And the Demon Slayer female corps members are extremely rare. Most don't make it pass a year or two.)

(He could've gotten some Kakushis help but Kakushis are not the same as us. They aren't Demon Slayers who are trained like us. For him to ask help from a Kakushi is similar to asking a civilian to kill demons with their bare hands.)

(I can totally understand his reasons. Hell, I might have done the same or worse if Shinobu's live was in danger...But I just can't calm myself down without punching his face!)

Tengen Pov

(Hmm? Is he shaking from my awesomeness. Well, that's understandable. After all I'm a flashy person even if I'm doing nothing.)

Suddenly, Ren leap at Tengen.

(Fast. Faster than an average Thunder breathing user but nowhere as fast as me.)

Tengen lean his body sideways, avoiding Ren. What he didn't know was that Ren had more than just speed in his arsenal.

Ren: (Arc of Embodiment: whip with a kunai attached to the top.)

*Whoosh*

Blue particles gather in Ren's hand as he shoots out a whip with a kunai tip from his clothes.

(Whip with a kunai? Why does he have something like that? It's no use in beheading Demons.)

The whip-kunai was easily dodged by Tengen again but his attention was distracted from Ren's left hand. And that was the opening that Ren needed to create…

Ren: (Arc of Embodiment: Female Yukata!)

A white sheet of cloth blocked Tengen's view.

(Hump, your tricks are useless against me.)

Tengen reach to his swords on his back to cut the while cloth.

Ren: (Oh no you don't!)

Ren quickly took out the whip-kunai again and wrapped the whip around the iron chains that connected Tengen's two swords. He then yanked the swords away and concentrate on the yukata.

Ren: (Imagining the shape, size, structure. Creating material of choice. Taking body measurements into account. Applying the final design…Done! One beautiful kimono, coming right up!)

*Weeeeeeshhhh* (Particle sound effect)

Ren: "You can't escape the wrath of Ren fucking Kosuke!"

Third Person Pov

"He yelled that and tried to force me to wear that insanely flashy kimono that he took out from somewhere despite my best efforts of hair pulling and screaming."

"That's the full story of what happened."

"Ren. Do you have anything to say for yourself?"

 "Umm, I regret nothing?"

*Jiiiii*

*Swoosh*

Shinobu stared at Ren who averted her eye. She then sighs softly and looked back at Tengen.

"Ok, I understand the situation. I'll scold Ren for his trouble. Since all of us are civilized, let's end your fight her, ok? ~"

"Wait a second, I don't agree to thi-"

"Ara, Uzui-san are you not a civilized person. Ara, I didn't know that such an uncivilized person could remain Hashira. Truly, the requirements are too low these days. Maybe I should tell the other Hashiras of how uncivilized you are."

"Ah, Alright, fine! Let's end it here for tonight."

Shinobu's smile (read: threat) made Tengen back down. 

He then rubs his head and says,

"But seriously Kocho, you've got to control that temper of yours."

"I wouldn't need to control my temper if 'some people' didn't constantly bother me every month."

"I wouldn't have to bother you if you gave me what I asked."

"And as I've said, I won't give you my special poison unless you can give me something of equal value."

"Then tell me what you want so I can trade it for the poison!"

"Hump, figure that out yourself."

"Arrrr!!" Tegen scratches his head in frustration.

"Damn it, I don't have time for this! I've been here for days and still haven't found information on the demons."

He stands up and gets ready to leave.

"Uzui-san." Shinobu stop him.

"We still haven't talk about why you took one of my girls without my permission." 

*Shing...* 

Shinobu half drew her sword.

"You do know that if anything happened to Aoi, I'm going to make you pay, right?"

"Ho." Tengen raised an eyebrow with a smirk.

"This is the most I've seen you without that stupid mask on in a while, Kocho. I have to say, this is a much better look."

Tengen open the door and stop just before he completely leaves the room. His eyes turn serious.

"Don't worry, nothing will happen to her. And if anything does happen to her...I'll take responsibility."

"Hmm…I'll take your word for it."

As Tengen disappear from our view, Shinobu sheathe her sword and turn to Ren.

"So, shall we sleep?"

"Sure."

We set up the futons and prepare to sleep for the night. I blew out the candle lights and lie down on the futon. I was about to fall asleep when Shinobu called out to me.

"Ren?"

"…What is it?"

"Thank you for being worried about Aoi."

"As you know, she can't even take down a lower rank by herself. Her and the girls are my only family ties left to this world. The thought of losing them has never crossed my mind until today."

"They've always been at the butterfly mansion so I didn't need to worry. But now I know that outside personal like the Hashira can force them like this."

"Hashiras aren't allowed to harm each other and since nothing happened to Aoi, I can't just injure Uzui-san either. So, thank you for doing that for me."

"You're welcome. When we get back, Let's ask Oyakata-sama to make sure they can't be touched by any other Hashira."

*Chu* Shinobu kissed Ren on the cheek.

"Hehe, good night, Ren."

"Good night, Shinobu."
