Seeing Mu Fanchen about to retreat effortlessly, the enraged Zuo Huaxian, humiliated by ridicule, took a deep breath. Just as he was about to launch a pursuit, he sensed a fierce wind behind him. Realizing the danger, he hastily leaped away from his original position.
Before Zuo Huaxian could steady himself, he heard a loud bang beside him. Turning to look, he saw the mindless Leng Yang staring at him viciously, like a ferocious beast, with a massive pit under his feet created by his iron fist.
"Are you crazy!" Zuo Huaxian shouted, glancing past Leng Yang's body. He saw Yao Xuefang lying on the ground, her body arched high, her skin flushed red against a backdrop of continuous moaning, creating a lascivious atmosphere.
Seeing this, Zuo Huaxian glanced sideways at Mu Fanchen hiding in the crowd, knowing it was his doing but helpless to intervene. He could only wave his sleeve, mobilizing his internal source to envelop Leng Yang while dodging the attacks and continually calling out, "Leng Yang! Calm down! You need to calm down!"
As Zuo Huaxian used his abilities to soothe Leng Yang's emotions, combined with Leng Yang's strong will power for self-restraint, it only took a few exchanges for a streak of clarity to flash in Leng Yang's blood-red eyes. He then clutched his splitting headache with his hands, kneeling on the ground and howling.
Seeing the situation improve, Zuo Huaxian was overjoyed. He immediately heightened the effects of the Meng Die, creating a comfortable, safe mental environment for Leng Yang, cleansing his soul to expel the toxins within him. This state didn't last long before Leng Yang finally awakened from his frenzy. He wiped the drool from the corner of his mouth and gave Zuo Huaxian a weary nod, "Elder Zuo, I've sobered up. Sorry, I've been a burden!"
"It's not your fault! Mu Fanchen was right; I've become complacent in my old age! Go check on Xiaoyao!" Zuo Huaxian sighed deeply, retracting his hands with a lost expression. Tonight, facing three-on-one and ending up in this state was partly due to Yao Xuefang's slightly lower strength, as she was only at the sixth phase of awakening and not adept at combat. She was controlled by the opponent, which distracted Leng Yang, leaving him unable to fight at full strength. On the other hand, as Mu Fanchen said, he indeed was old and had lost his previous ambition.
He had thought tonight's battle could redeem his past humiliation, only to face even more unforgettable shame. With this in mind, Zuo Huaxian shook his head, feeling disheartened.
But at the moment, he couldn't afford to dwell on this. If Yao Xuefang's actions were not stopped, the scene would turn into something inappropriate, leaving a lifelong psychological shadow even if she were rescued.
At this point, the now-clear-headed Leng Yang quickly approached Yao Xuefang. He grabbed her continually moving hands and, disregarding any propriety, straddled her, feeling a surge of heat beneath him. He shouted, flushing red, "Elder Zuo! Hurry, I can't hold her much longer!"
Zuo Huaxian hurriedly took three steps forward, arriving in front of Yao Xuefang, squatting down, and placed his hands on her head. He activated his internal source to redirect ability, slowly influencing her. As two illusions fought in her mind, her panting and moaning intensified, and her body shook more violently. This left Leng Yang, straddling her, in a dilemma. If he didn't use strength, she'd break free; if he did, he feared hurting her. Eventually, with no choice, he climbed over her, using his whole body to pin her down.
Fortunately, this state didn't last long. Yao Xuefang's trembling slowed and her breathing stabilized until finally, her head tilted, and she fell into a deep sleep.
Leng Yang watched as the flush on the slumbering Yao Xuefang's body gradually faded. He let out a long sigh of relief, straightened up, and wiped the sweat off his head. Feeling that this effort was more exhausting than battling an enemy, he stood up from Yao Xuefang, took off his coat, and covered her, turning to Zuo Huaxian with a flushed face, "Elder Zuo, you must keep this a secret from my wife, and definitely don't tell your son-in-law. If he finds out, the whole squad will know!"
Zuo Huaxian gestured to show he understood, then looked toward the retreating Shenyu members. At this point, all the fighting had stopped, regardless of victory or defeat, as the Shenyu members all withdrew from the battlefield and regrouped.
Mu Fanchen surveyed the crowd. Of the eleven that set out on this mission, seven remained. Two were captured, and two were killed. Besides Pelidron from the Spirit Monster Realm, another cultivator from the Daoist Realm was ambushed and killed by two advisors of the Investigation Bureau during a process of summoning a Divine Artifact. However, he managed to take one down with him just before his death.
Seeing the time was running out, Mu Fanchen activated the temporary Teleportation Array in his hand, signaled secretly to Fu Rui, who had been hiding in the dark all along, to use her ability.
"Mu Fanchen, did you think we'd let you escape so easily?" Elder Lin and the remaining members of the Investigation Bureau surrounded them.
Elder Lin took out a crystal-clear, exquisitely carved pendant, and with a fierce grip, it shattered, yelling, "Lock!"
The light on the Teleportation Array in front of Mu Fanchen and the others went out instantly. No matter how Shen Yuanzhou and the others tried to activate it, there was no response. Panic flashed across the eyes of the remaining members, each using their divine powers to connect to space, only to find this area locked down tightly with no way out.
Just as the situation looked like a battle would break out again, the sky and earth suddenly darkened, and a commanding presence swept across the field, capturing everyone's gaze. They all turned to see a large door appear from nowhere at the back of the battlefield. The little girl and the old yellow dog originally guarding the door gracefully jumped in.
This scene elicited mixed reactions. The Investigation Bureau collectively breathed a sigh of relief, while the Shenyu members were filled with shock and dread. Under the panic, Shen Yuanzhou grabbed Mu Fanchen by the collar, demanding fearfully, "Quick! Your backup plan! Fast, or we'll all die here!"
Mu Fanchen calmly patted Shen Yuanzhou's collar aside, then nodded to Fu Rui. Everyone turned their attention to the team's previously most unnoticed member. They saw her conjure a large red cloth into her hand, which she then waved to cover all the Shenyu members, shouting, "Mage!"
After the sound, everyone remained in place, with Mu Fanchen raising an eyebrow, his eyes piercing like knives toward Fu Rui's panicked face. Sweating profusely, Fu Rui quickly explained, "There are too many people. I can't transport such a large group of powerful individuals in one go!"
"Cut it down!" Mu Fanchen demanded in a deep voice.
"Just one less, and it'll work!" Fu Rui swallowed nervously, responding hastily.
With those words, the atmosphere under the red cloth immediately tensed as each person eyed the other with hostile intent.
