Only I Walk Alone

Chapter 14 - Finding Humans

Wu Ge explained the situation to the blonde little girl, of course, with the help of a translator. He said, “If you want to stay alive now, you have to drink synthetic blood, so you must cooperate with us. If you want your vampire race to continue, your entire vampire race can only cooperate with us. Choose, starve to death, or assist us in saving all of humanity!”

The enemies of the past, now allies, without humans, vampires cannot survive either. They had no choice!

The little girl sneered, “You want me to submit to humans, that’s like humans submitting to pigs, chickens, cattle, and sheep. Do you think I would agree? I am a queen among vampires!”

Wu Ge waved his hand, “Throw her out, let her fend for herself.”

“Snap!” The door of the transport plane slowly opened, and the gust of wind blew in, causing the blonde girl’s hair to fly wildly.

The blonde girl was stunned, but only for a second, then she immediately shouted, “I submit, I submit, from today onwards, I am your vampire subordinate!”

In the face of survival, dignity is worthless.

The door of the transport plane slowly closed, the wind disappeared, and the loli finally felt relieved, but she was still cursing Wu Ge in her heart.

Wu Ge smiled and said, “He who knows his food is wise, moreover, the living conditions in our base are much better than outside, you will definitely be satisfied.”

The loli’s attitude changed, but the robot did not remove the chains from her wrists and ankles, mainly to prevent her from doing something foolish, which would only harm herself.

Wu Ge asked, “Do you know of other vampire populations? I want to recruit them to work for us.”

The little girl turned her head, saying, “The vampires I knew are all dead. Since the disappearance of humans three years ago, the weaker vampires died one after another. Only the strongest, me, survived until now. Previously, I was in hibernation to conserve strength, but in the end, I couldn’t bear it anymore, so I wanted to check the hospitals in various cities for stored blood, but found none.”

It was normal for her not to find any, because the Microstar civilization took away all humans, including sperm banks, egg banks, stored blood, people in cryogenic projects, humans with synthetic organs, and those who uploaded their consciousness to robots. In short, everything directly related to humans was taken away.

After learning this information, Wu Ge understood what Microstar civilization meant by “spiritual judgment.” Anyone who feels they are human in their heart, even a dog, would be transported away, so those who had synthetic organs and uploaded consciousness were not spared from this transportation.

As for why Wu Ge was left behind, it might involve metaphysics.

Wu Ge said, “I grew up alone since I was a child, almost everything I did was by myself. In a two-person team outing, there would always be one person alone, and that was me; in an eight-person study group, there would always be an extra person, and that person would definitely be me; even in League of Legends, as long as I participated in a team fight, either only one person would die or we would never be wiped out.”

He even said, “If this time the Microstar civilization only took away one person, it would probably be me. However, the aliens took away all of humanity, so I was left behind.”

Wu Ge brought the blonde vampire back to the villa at the base. After explaining that his blood was not drinkable, Wu Ge had the robot unchain the blonde loli. The unchained girl did not make a fuss. She just looked around in surprise and said, “This place is too beautiful, much better than the large manor where I lived.”

A maid came over: “Thank you for the compliment!”

The loli asked, “Are you Xiao Chao? You’re really amazing, I admire you so much!”

She was building a good relationship with her future benefactors.

The maid said, “The freshest blood has been stored in the refrigerator and is replenished regularly. However, the condition for vampires to reside here is to accompany Wu Ge and assist me in solving scientific problems.”

The little girl raised a hand, “Understood!”

Wu Ge thought for a moment and said, “Let’s give you a name, how about Xiao Luo?”

Xiao Luo: “…”

Xiao Luo’s speechlessness was probably due to the translation issue. In English, Xiao Luo would translate to “Lovely Luo,” and it might be “Luo-chan” in Japanese. In any case, using this as a name is a bit odd.

However, Xiao Luo will definitely need to learn Chinese, so the name isn’t too much of a problem. But she couldn’t help but mockingly think: Do you only know how to add ‘Xiao’ in front of names?

For Xiao Luo’s scientific literacy, Xiao Chao established an affiliated primary school in the university because Xiao Luo was an illiterate who knew nothing. She only knew English and the etiquette and some common sense of the British nobility during the medieval period. She was completely clueless about physics and chemistry.

So, she had to start learning from scratch. But since her brain structure was similar to humans, she should be able to progress quickly. Moreover, as long as she had synthetic blood, she could live indefinitely, which spared Xiao Chao the trouble of giving her an immortality modification.

As for the two werewolves, Xiao Chao, of course, did not plan to perform immortality modifications on them because she needed the werewolves to continue reproducing and evolve in the process of procreation. Their brain capacity was too small; it would take several generations before a highly intelligent werewolf could be born. During this process, Xiao Chao would use technological means to gradually modify their genes.

This technological approach was not difficult to achieve. Although Xiao Chao could not directly modify the genes of individuals on a large scale, she could modify the genes of fertilized eggs, and then through the survival of the fittest over generations, the intelligent werewolves would eventually evolve.

With Xiao Luo, who could communicate, added to the base, Wu Ge was very happy. However, during a conversation one day, Wu Ge learned that Xiao Luo had been alive for several hundred years.

She was just a little girl on the surface. She was born to a vampire couple a long time ago, and as her power increased, she grew to look about fourteen years old within a few years. But from that time on, her age stopped.

If her power decreased, she would become smaller until she disappeared. If she could advance to a stronger vampire, her age would increase to sixteen, eighteen years old.

However, advancing as a vampire is not an easy task, and she had not been successful in advancing over the centuries.

According to Xiao Luo’s statement, Xiao Chao clearly stated, “The reason for the failure to advance should be weak mental power. As long as you continue to enhance your mental power, you can advance.”

In Xiao Chao’s words, mental power seems to be capable of anything.

So, Xiao Luo also began to cultivate her mental power.

Two years passed in this training, and in the fifth year after humans disappeared, Xiao Chao suddenly sent Wu Ge the latest news. She said, “Human traces have been found. This time, the trace is fresh blood on the grass, and after genetic comparison, it is undoubtedly human!”
