Chapter 34: The Tower Climb Begins...
Meanwhile, the moment Aleron entered the Tower of Heaven, the ruins shimmered and a line of words from the Tower of Heaven appeared in front of his eyes.
However, Aleron didn't pay attention to them at all because a line of words from the system, which seemed slightly emotional, filled with longing and was slightly monotonic, resounded.
[Second forbidden dragon egg detected.]
[Veldora, the Dragon of Water, Pressure, and Calmness has been detected.]
[Host, please form the contract.]
[Welcome to the Tower of Heaven!]
Aleron was shocked, staring at the line of words.
The second forbidden dragon was inside the Tower of Heaven?
Where?
Aleron's gaze snapped to his surroundings and he noticed he had appeared in an enclosed space.
Everywhere around him was filled with white.
It seemed vast.
In front of him was a shimmering blue panel similar to that of his system.
But his system was vastly different.
His system's own overshadowed the blue panel, glowing golden in his line of sight.
Aleron didn't notice any sight of the dragon.
"System, could you be wrong? I can't see any egg here."
The line of words in front of Aleron shimmered and then changed.
[Host, the second forbidden dragon egg is within the Tower of Heaven. Please find it.]
After saying these words, the system fell silent.
Aleron was stunned silent, and he felt slightly frustrated.
He could sense the hidden excitement in the system as it spoke about the second dragon.
If it was excited about the contract, then why didn't it just directly give him the forbidden dragon egg?
Why the need to go through so much trouble?
Aleron didn't have the answers to his questions, so he reluctantly closed down the system panel and turned his gaze to the line of glowing blue words in front of him.
[Welcome to the Tower of Heaven.]
[Climb the towers to evolve.]
[Complete all 100 levels of the Tower of Heaven to become the Master of the Tower.]
[Note: By becoming the Master of the Tower, you can gain the gateway to explore the starry skies.]
Aleron read the line of words then tapped on the corner of the screen which showed, "Next."
The line of words disappeared and a new set of words appeared in front of him.
They read:
[Please select a name.]
Aleron glanced at the panel then hesitated.
A name that would be announced when he completed the Tower?
What name could he pick?
Aleron wasn't good with names in the least bit.
How could he select a nickname that would suit him perfectly?
He subconsciously glanced at his body.
He was still in his monstrous fused form.
Dragon?
"Wait! Dragon!"
Aleron's eyes widened and then he grinned.
Speaking, he said lightly with a smile, "I am the Father of Dragons..."
The panel seemed to understand his words, and the set of runes glowed, marking down the words.
After that, the runes shimmered again, displaying the information.
[Every 10 levels will be a group completion. All participants will be brought together upon reaching level 10 to complete the level together, then continue to solo the Tower.]
Aleron nodded in understanding.
After that, the line of words no longer changed.
It seemed as though everything had been said already.
Aleron waited in silence as time ticked by.
Soon, a change occurred abruptly and Aleron felt a turbulent force pull him.
The next moment, he vanished from his position and appeared in a different space.
[Welcome to Level 1 of the Tower of Heaven. Please, clear the horde of goblins. The lesser time you take, the more potent your evolution bloodline will be...]
Aleron read the words again, but his thoughts were interrupted by a guttural roar not far ahead.
He turned sharply. At the edge of the crimson mist, distorted shapes began to emerge—dozens at first, then hundreds.
Twisted, malformed goblins poured out from the shadows like vermin spilling from a torn nest.
Their skin was a sickly green, blistered in patches, stretched tight over lean muscle and broken bone.
Some were barely clothed, others clad in scrap armor pieced together from old metal, bones, and leather soaked with dried blood.
Their eyes glowed faintly, not with intelligence, but with raw hatred and animal hunger.
Their mouths hung open with crooked teeth, blackened by rot, saliva dripping in long strands as they snarled and shrieked.
The air filled with their screeches—shrill, maddening, echoing across the stone walls of the chamber.
Crude weapons clanked in their grasp—rusted swords, jagged cleavers, sharpened bones, even scraps of metal bound to sticks.
They moved with feral speed, crawling over one another in a frenzy. The ground trembled beneath their charge, the stench of sweat, blood, and decay rolling like a wave toward Aleron.
It wasn't just a group.
It was a plague.
A tide of madness and fury, eyes locked on him, screeching like rabid dogs thirsting for his flesh.
Aleron frowned.
Something seemed different about this group of goblins.
It was as though they had been possessed.
Corrupted with something malicious and strange.
Aleron didn't delay as the abominations were already upon him.
His golden eyes turned slightly crimson, and a dreadful wave of heat emanated from the depths of his eyes.
Staring at the horde of abominations, he calmly waved his hand.
His origin energy decreased sharply by half, and the next moment, fire sparks began dancing around in the air.
In the blink of an eye, not too far from Aleron, fire spirits began forming.
From the auras that the goblins radiated, Aleron could tell that they weren't too strong, so he wasn't bothered and knew that the fire spirits would be able to take care of them.
The horde of goblins didn't seem to realize the danger, and the wave of fire spirits immediately lunged themselves at them.
Immediately, the whole front of the horde of goblins went up in flames.
Pained roars resounded in the surroundings.
Aleron watched as the goblin hordes soon caught fire and went up in flame.
The fire was extremely hot, and within a few seconds, some abominations were burnt to ashes.
Just as Aleron was watching the scene play out with interest, the system flashed to life.
[Congratulations on slaying an abomination...]
[You have gained...]
