Onepiece: I'm Gojo Satoru

Chapter 97: Chapter 89 Testing The Admiral

After confirming Satoru's promotion, Sengoku wasted no time spreading the news worldwide, intending to bolster public trust in the Navy. The response was mixed: some were in awe of the Navy's youngest admiral, while others scoffed at the idea, considering it a reckless move.

While the public debated, the G8 base—Satoru's former station—was buzzing with pride. The soldiers there were ecstatic, proud to have trained under someone who had now risen to the pinnacle of naval power. Claire, Satoru's adjutant, was both stunned and motivated.

"If the Admiral came from here, then we can't fall behind," Claire thought, immediately ramping up training regimens for the base.

Meanwhile, back at Marineford, Satoru remained nonchalant despite the criticism and intrigue surrounding his promotion.

"It seems like I'll be a target now," Satoru remarked, leaning back in his chair, unbothered.

Sengoku sighed. "Reputation isn't handed out—it's earned. The other admirals had established their strength before their promotions. You, on the other hand, still have something to prove."

Satoru smirked. "I hope the challengers are strong enough to make it interesting. Otherwise, I'll just get bored."

Seeing Satoru's carefree attitude, Sengoku grew annoyed. "If you're done lounging around, return to the G8 base. Pirates are already setting their sights there."

"Got it, Chief. Just say you're done with me," Satoru teased, standing up.

"OUT!" Sengoku shouted, hurling a document at him. But by the time it reached the air, Satoru had disappeared, leaving Sengoku fuming.

The Journey Back

After bidding farewell to Zefa and Garp, Satoru boarded a warship bound for the New World. The ship's crew, knowing they were escorting the newly appointed Admiral White Dragon, looked at him with reverence.

"General White Dragon," they addressed him, their voices tinged with awe.

Initially, Satoru found the title awkward. But over time, he began to embrace it, understanding the weight it carried.

As the warship set sail, a vice admiral approached him with a report.

"General White Dragon, we've been tasked with intercepting the Overlord Pirates, one of the New World's veteran crews. Their captain is said to be extremely powerful, and we don't believe we can handle them alone."

Hearing this, Satoru raised an eyebrow. "Sounds like Sengoku's handiwork. He sent you on a mission you can't win to test me, right?"

The vice admiral's awkward expression confirmed his suspicions.

Satoru chuckled. "Fine. I'll handle it. Let's see if these 'Overlord Pirates' live up to their name."

Facing the Overlord Pirates

As they sailed deeper into the New World, tension grew aboard the warship. The Overlord Pirates were infamous, their captain—a veteran named Dreadnought Drake—was a former rival to the Yonko in his prime. Though his crew had diminished over the years, his strength was still feared.

When the two ships finally crossed paths, Satoru stood at the bow, his white coat billowing in the wind.

"Which one of you is Dreadnought Drake?" he called out, his voice calm yet commanding.

A hulking figure stepped forward, his presence dominating the pirate ship. "I am. And you must be the child admiral everyone's talking about. You don't look like much."

Satoru smirked. "Good. I'd hate to disappoint you."

Without waiting for a signal, Drake unleashed a powerful shockwave of Haki, intending to overwhelm Satoru. But the young admiral stood unfazed, his aura flaring in response.

"What...?" Drake muttered, beads of sweat forming on his brow.

Before Drake could react, Satoru vanished, reappearing in front of him with lightning speed. With a single punch, he sent the veteran pirate crashing through his own ship, splitting it in two.

The Overlord Pirates froze, their morale shattered.

"Tell the New World," Satoru said, his voice carrying over the chaos, "if you come for the White Dragon, bring your best. Anything less isn't worth my time."

Aftermath

The mission was a resounding success. Satoru's dominance over Dreadnought Drake quickly spread, silencing many doubters. Back at the G8 base, his soldiers cheered upon hearing the news, while Claire doubled down on their training efforts.

In Marineford, Sengoku couldn't help but smile as reports of the battle reached his desk.

"Looks like the White Dragon is starting to spread his wings," he muttered, knowing this was only the beginning of Satoru's rise.
