Chapter 19: Nami
“Wait a minute,” the girl who had just packed a bundle of treasures exclaimed.
“Why should I bother moving this money onto my own boat? This pirate ship is completely deserted, save for those three hapless fools outside. If I were to kick them off, I could claim this massive ship along with all of these treasures! Sure, it might smell a bit funky, but it’s a small price to pay for such a great haul”
Lost in her thoughts, the girl set down the goods from her hands, strode out of the cabin, and handed each of the three pirates a stick. She proceeded to tie them up one by one, and then tossed them all overboard.
Little did she know, a bald-headed figure had been watching her every move from the shoreline. The sea water had a sobering effect on the three dimwitted pirates. The waves tossed them about until they eventually washed up on the shore, right at the feet of a bald man.
Saitama peered down at them, but to his surprise, they seemed oblivious to the fact that they had washed up on the beach. The three pirates clutched at their necks, groaning in pain as they finally realized what had happened. Anger boiled within them as they spoke:
“That girl snuck onto our ship and double-crossed us!”
“Don’t you worry, when Captain Buggy gets back, she’s a dead woman!”
“No, no, no! I want to personally torture her before we do anything else!”
“I said…” Unbeknownst to the three angry pirates, Saitama had crept up behind them and crouched down to tap one of them on the shoulder. “Are you guys okay?” he asked with concern in his voice.
It was only then that the three men noticed someone standing behind them. As they turned around, they were met with the sight of a naked, bald man staring back at them with an intense, almost animalistic expression.
“Hey, you bald man! Quickly untie these ropes!” one of the pirates shouted, fear now evident in his voice.
“Hurry up and free us! Our captain is Buggy the Clown, the most savage pirate in the East Blue, and if you don’t obey us, you’ll be in big trouble!”
“…”
Saitama rubbed his chin thoughtfully for a moment before reaching out to grab the ropes that bound the three pirates. The men cheered with excitement, “Yes! That’s it! Just untie us and we’ll be on our way…”
But before they could finish their sentence, Saitama suddenly hoisted them up and tossed them effortlessly into the middle of the ocean.
The three pirates were utterly bewildered, shouting in confusion:
“Mommy!!”
“Is this some kind of hallucination?!!”
“Why did it feel like we were flying through the sky just now?”
Before they could make sense of what had happened, a massive shadow appeared in the water where they had been thrown, and a giant Sea King Dragon emerged from the depths to swallow them whole.
On the beach, Saitama gave a victorious clap of his hands before leaping into the air with superhuman strength and landing aboard Buggy’s ship. As Saitama made his way onto the deck of the ship, he noticed the orange-haired girl busily preparing to set sail. At the sound of his footsteps, she turned around and was visibly surprised.
“Oh no!” she muttered under her breath. “Is that Buggy the Clown? Has he returned? What should I do? My usual tricks might not work on someone like him… Pfff!”
The orange-haired girl was taken aback by Saitama’s sudden appearance before her, and couldn’t help but blurt out in surprise.
“How could you be naked?!” she exclaimed.
Saitama blinked in confusion before glancing down at his own bare body.
“Huh?” he muttered. “Oh, I guess I forgot to borrow some clothes from that old man…”
The girl glared at Saitama, her anger palpable in her voice.
“Don’t speak so calmly without any shame, you maniac! Get off this boat! Or I’ll kick you out!” she shouted.
Saitama simply walked past her towards the cabin, surveying his surroundings. “But I need to retrieve all of the stolen goods first,” he replied calmly. “It may take a while for such a large ship. Could you wait for me a minute?” he asked politely.
“Damn… What are you talking about?!” the girl exclaimed as she pulled out three short sticks and spliced them together.
She rushed towards Saitama, blocking his way with her makeshift weapon, and cried out in a delicate voice: “Don’t you understand? This is my boat, and all the treasures on it are mine! If you take one step further, I can’t guarantee your safety!”
Saitama stopped and replied with his usual empty gaze: “It’s not wise to tell lies, little miss.”
“Who are you calling ‘little miss’?! Say that again and I’ll make you regret it!”
The girl grew impatient and lifted her makeshift weapon, waving it menacingly at Saitama’s head.
“It seems that my words didn’t sink in. No one can take something from the Cat Burglar’s grasp! Have a good nap, you bald and ugly man!”
The girl swung the stick in a quick motion, and it made a whistling sound as it connected with Saitama’s head.
To her surprise, the stick broke into two pieces without leaving a mark on Saitama’s head or causing him any harm.
“In this world…” Saitama let out a helpless sigh. He extended his index finger and lightly flicked the girl’s forehead.
“Regardless of your appearance, you shouldn’t attack others without provocation…” he continued.
Although the girl didn’t experience much pain from the flick, she suddenly flew back and crashed into the cabin door behind her, breaking it down before falling to the ground.
As she barely opened her eyes, she saw the bald man packing up the treasures and preparing to leave. She was astonished and whispered to herself: “This guy…”
Trembling amidst the dust and debris, she pulled herself up and looked at Saitama’s blank face with fear and awe.
“Stop!” the orange-haired girl struggled to get up from the ground, determined to protect her treasures.
‘These treasures are mine, and nobody will take them away from me… Since this is a man, maybe I can use my beauty to trick him. It worked against those three pirates, so it might work on this one too. There’s no other way… I have to try again!’
With a plan in mind, the girl adjusted her collar and put on a shy appearance as she approached Saitama, who was preparing to leave with the treasures.
“Well, like I said earlier…” Nami gave Saitama a charming smile. “My name is Nami. And what’s your name, strong man?”
Saitama replied without any change in his expression: “Saitama.”
Nami felt confused by his stoic attitude, but she knew she had to flatter him.
“Hmm… Saitama-san,” Nami purred as she bit her finger seductively. “There’s so much gold here that you can’t carry it all by yourself… Why don’t we split it? I can make it worth your while in other ways…” With that, she lowered her hands while raising her right foot to her back, striking a seductive pose.
Unfortunately for Nami, her beauty trick failed to sway Saitama, who simply pushed her aside and left with the treasure on his back.
Nami was left in shock, frozen in place for a moment before her anger took over.
“You…” she pointed at Saitama, her voice shaking with rage.
“Hey, you bastard! Don’t ignore me! Put my money down right now!”
