Chapter 130: Chapter 130: Sword Technique - Scarlet Lotus
"Don't let him shoot!"
Watching the Fish-Men fall one after another, Arlong's eyes turned red with rage. Ignoring the wounds on his abdomen, he yelled to the Fish-Men on his ship, "Throw down the Shark-Saw! And bring out Mohmoo!"
His voice was filled with venom as he finally issued a strategic command.
The massive, serrated blade was tossed down from the ship, landing with a heavy thud. Arlong grabbed the weapon, spinning it in his hands to create a powerful gust of wind.
Standing at an imposing height of 2.6 meters, with a large serrated blade in hand, he looked like an unstoppable force—a modern-day warrior in the wrong age.
"Send out a request for reinforcements to the 16th Branch!" Rear Admiral Pudding Pudding, steadying himself from the pain in his shoulder, shouted to a nearby Marine before retrieving his fallen sword.
Despite the overwhelming odds, the Marines he commanded were indeed elite, keeping the Fish-Men's onslaught at bay. However, with Arlong's entry into the fight, the tide began to turn once more.
And then there was another monster.
From the depths of the sea, a colossal creature emerged, its eyes as bright as the sun, its body covered in armor-like scales. Its nose had a ring, indicating that this ocean behemoth had been tamed.
Six meters...no, ten...fifty meters…
The water rippled and surged as the enormous sea monster surfaced, dwarfing even the Fish-Men's massive ship.
A sea beast of this size—how could it have been domesticated? It defied comprehension.
The Marines moved their cannons, launching an artillery barrage at the distant monster.
"What...what kind of monster is that...?" Bellemere's face turned pale at the sight of the beast. Its mere presence awakened a primal fear in everyone watching.
"Stand your ground! We are the Marines—justice shall prevail!"
Pudding Pudding rallied his troops, swinging his sword as he fought alongside his men against the Fish-Men.
Luffy fired several shots before Arlong closed in on him. Despite his massive size, Arlong was incredibly fast, charging at Luffy during a brief reload.
The huge serrated sword came crashing down on Luffy.
However, with a quick and nimble twist, Luffy sidestepped, smoothly reloading his gun and aiming it at a Fish-Man.
Arlong instinctively dodged, but another Fish-Man was not so lucky, his body exploding from the powerful impact of Luffy's shot.
"So it's true—only your bullets have that insane power!" Arlong growled, his grip on the Shark-Saw tightening as his abdominal wound started bleeding again.
"Who...what are you?"
Hatchan the octopus Fish-Man positioned himself on Luffy's flank, his mouth wide and trumpet-like. With six arms, he wielded six swords, one in each hand, all drawn and ready to strike.
"Once we take you down, there'll be no threat left on this island," he said, his gaze fixed on the sword Luffy wielded, noting its unique, radiant quality.
Luffy casually discarded his empty gun, placing his hand on the sword at his hip.
"Who am I? Destiny, perhaps—"
He smirked, feeling no need to reveal his name to mere underlings.
"I am the fate that awaits you. I've been here, waiting."
The elegant blade slowly left its sheath, gleaming with an ominous light. Until now, Luffy hadn't had the chance to truly use it.
But now he did.
The blade pulsed with haki, its temperature rising.
Luffy lowered his stance.
"A one-sword style can't compete with a six-sword style," Hatchan scoffed. "I am the master of Six-Sword Style: Octopus Gate!"
Six blades came swinging toward Luffy.
Arlong brought down the Shark-Saw as well, adding to the deadly barrage.
With a flash, Luffy's royal sword emerged, drawing a blazing red arc in the air.
Holding the Western-style sword firmly, he launched himself into the air, his movements creating an eerie red trail as he countered. Years of training in Uta's dream world had prepared him for multi-enemy assaults. This was no different.
With a fiery arc, he unleashed a scarlet lotus, slicing through the air with calculated strikes. The rhythmic clash of blades filled the air, a haunting melody for a swordsman. Hatchan's eyes widened in disbelief as he watched his swords shatter one by one under Luffy's relentless blows, each crack creating another split in the metal.
With a final clash, all six of Hatchan's swords broke, falling in fragments around him.
"This...can't be…" Hatchan looked at the broken hilts in his hands, stepping back in shock as he beheld the flaming blade in Luffy's grasp.
Uta, watching from a distance, was mesmerized by the fiery display in the air.
"Luffy…he's so strong," she murmured in awe.
"So beautiful…such an unstoppable slash."
Luffy spun the royal sword in his hands, releasing a burst of flame that blossomed into the shape of a lotus.
"Your sword…that's a quality blade," Arlong noted, sizing up the weapon. "But I've got the advantage with the Shark-Saw's heft. Just you watch…"
Yet he hesitated as he saw flames crawling along the edge of his weapon, a sign of something unprecedented.
"You…are you a Devil Fruit user?" Arlong asked, his gaze darkening.
"Unlucky for me, running into a Devil Fruit user in this backwater place..."
Arlong's mind flashed to memories of past humiliation, a sneering Navy vice-admiral whose body turned to light, pinning him with a boot to the face.
Glancing around at his remaining comrades, Arlong gritted his teeth. Fish-Men were few and far between; each fallen ally was a painful loss.
If he'd known someone like this was here, he would never have landed on this island.
"Damn it…damn it!" Arlong roared, swinging his weapon even faster, his fury granting him speed.
But Luffy was a dancer in the storm, evading each swing effortlessly. He placed a hand on his forehead, smirking as he spoke in a mockingly soft tone, "Trash."
The word cut through the air, freezing the Fish-Men mid-attack, their faces contorting with rage.
Luffy's feet touched the ground lightly, as if he were barely bound by gravity.
"Kill you! I will kill you!" Arlong's voice shook with fury.
The octopus Fish-Man also took up a stance, saying, "Six-Sword Style Secret Technique: Six-Sword Waltz!"
"Oh? Are you angry?" Luffy taunted, his voice dripping with mockery. "It's unfortunate, isn't it? All you can do is get angry."
"Does Luffy…have this side to him?" Bellemere murmured, both surprised and slightly amused. She'd always thought of him as responsible and composed, but this display of cockiness was new.
"Isn't he adorable like this?" Uta grinned, delighted by Luffy's hidden mischievous side. After all, this was the same Luffy who would apologize humbly to her in the dream world, begging forgiveness in the cutest way possible.
The Fish-Men launched another coordinated assault, the octopus spitting black ink while Arlong kicked up a spray of dirt and rocks.
"Not so smug now, brat!"
One of the Fish-Men warriors launched a high-pressure water cannon at Luffy.
Luffy, calm and focused, charged his sword with fire.
Starting with a small flame, he countered the ink spray, watching as it caught fire and fizzled away.
"Three realms without peace, as if trapped in a fiery prison…" he chanted softly. "Sword Technique - Scarlet Lotus…"
As he finished, he swung his sword, releasing a series of flaming arcs that formed a radiant lotus, consuming the incoming attacks. Each blade strike expanded the fiery blossom, a breathtaking display of skill and precision.
With the lotus fully formed, the flames created a path on the ground, each line igniting in a burst of red that encircled his enemies.
Luffy sheathed his sword with a final flourish, extinguishing the flames in sync with the clink of metal. As he did, the fiery lines on the ground connected, creating a massive column of fire that erupted around the Fish-Men, sending them flying in all directions.
The final bloom of Scarlet Lotus erupted, engulfing everything in its path.
Mohmoo, the sea monster, froze in terror at the sight of the towering flames, hesitating as it neared the shore.
"I… I can't lose to a human brat like you…" Arlong muttered, his body scorched and battered, struggling to rise.
Hatchan lay on the ground, staring at the broken fragments of his swords in despair.
"I used my ultimate Six-Sword Style, and still… still, I couldn't win…"
Gritting his teeth, Arlong called out, "Mohmoo, what are you waiting for? Crush them!"
The massive sea cow stood tall, nearly a hundred meters, its hulking body blocking out the sun.
"Once Mohmoo charges, it'll all turn in my favor!" Arlong chuckled in defiance, even as he staggered.
Luffy assessed his remaining Haki res
erves and turned his gaze toward the massive sea creature.
Behind him, the Marines gathered cannons, aiming them at Mohmoo, ready to face the final beast.
