Chapter 19: Chapter 19: The Dragon Bows Its Head

Then, in front of everyone's eyes, Arlong fell straight backward to the ground!

Seeing this, all the members of the Arlong Pirates standing behind him were utterly shocked.

None of them could've imagined that their opponents' strength would be this terrifying!

Even Arlong himself was starting to consider turning around and running away.

"All right, don't waste time. Kill them all." Qin Chuan gave the order calmly, as if it were of no consequence.

These guys had been wreaking havoc around these parts, and deep down, Qin Chuan had long wanted to clean up these pests that plagued the innocent.

After hearing Qin Chuan's command, Douglas Bullet's expression turned cold, and a murderous gleam flashed in his eyes.

Arlong now fully realized that his fate was sealed. It was impossible to escape alive from this situation.

He immediately pulled out one of his regenerable teeth, holding it like a dagger, and roared to his fellow fish-men, "Kill them!!"

But just as they began to charge, Douglas Bullet let out a deep shout, and in the next instant, an overwhelming aura burst from his body.

A blue shockwave of energy exploded outward from him, sweeping through everything around him!

The moment Arlong and the others came into contact with that blue energy, they were sent flying backward like ragdolls.

"Conqueror's Haki?!" Qin Chuan's eyes widened in shock at the scene.

He knew Douglas Bullet possessed all three types of Haki, but to see him wield Conqueror's Haki so proficiently—this was the first time.

Conqueror's Haki was the mark of a king's spirit, an innate talent that allowed its wielder to overwhelm and intimidate others by sheer willpower alone. It could instantly incapacitate those significantly weaker.

Unlike Observation Haki or Armament Haki, Conqueror's Haki couldn't be learned or inherited—it was determined by fate alone.

Clearly, Douglas Bullet had already fully mastered his innate Conqueror's Haki.

Arlong struggled to get up from the ground, his body now bearing several new wounds, all courtesy of Douglas Bullet.

As for the rest of his crew, most of them had been instantly killed by the blast of Conqueror's Haki, blood trickling from their ears, noses, and mouths.

Even Hatchan, one of his officers, was lying half-dead on the ground.

Now, only Arlong, barely standing, remained.

He looked nothing like the feared pirate he had once been—his mouth dripping blood, his body broken, his entire demeanor one of pathetic defeat.

"C-Can you... spare my life?" Arlong asked hoarsely, struggling to speak.

"Kneel." Qin Chuan stepped forward and gave a cold command.

Without hesitation, Arlong dropped to his knees.

"Can you... let me go now?" He looked up at Qin Chuan, completely devoid of pride, pitifully begging for his life.

"When you slaughtered innocent villagers, did you ever think about sparing them?" Qin Chuan asked flatly.

"I-I never slaughtered anyone! I only wanted to protect them from the other pirates who would burn and plunder!" Arlong scrambled to defend himself.

"Greedy. Brutal. Obsessed with wealth. Not only did you extort and murder in these villages, you even colluded with corrupt Navy officers. That Captain Nezumi was your lapdog, wasn't he?"

As soon as Qin Chuan mentioned Captain Nezumi, Arlong's pupils contracted sharply, his face filling with disbelief.

Clearly, he was shocked that this complete stranger knew so much about him and his dirty dealings.

"Nothing to say now, huh? Good. Close your eyes—it won't hurt."

After saying that, Qin Chuan casually glanced at Douglas Bullet.

"NO! Please!!" Arlong howled in desperation.

But—it was already too late.

With Arlong successfully executed, Qin Chuan and Douglas Bullet boarded their captured Marine warship once again.

As they were about to set sail, they noticed large crowds of townspeople gathering at the shore.

"What are they doing here?" Qin Chuan muttered with confusion at the sight.

But the next moment, the villagers burst into cheers, waving excitedly at them from the docks!

Seeing this, Qin Chuan glanced back at the Marine warship, and suddenly it all made sense.

The townspeople had been watching everything from the shadows. Once they saw that Qin Chuan and his companion had killed Arlong and then boarded a Marine vessel, they naturally assumed they were Navy soldiers sent to liberate them.

So now, the townsfolk had gathered of their own accord to thank and bid farewell to their supposed saviors.

"Well, I guess I've done a good deed today after all. Maybe now the Navy will consider offering me a position as one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea," Qin Chuan said sarcastically to himself.

"Seven Warlords? What's that?" asked Douglas Bullet, curious, having been cut off from the world for decades.

"It's a temporary organization established by the World Government. It's made up of seven pirates—but not just any pirates; they're all recognized by the World Government as extremely powerful and influential.

They're given special privileges and allowed to continue their criminal activities as they please. But in exchange, they're expected to cooperate with the Marines whenever summoned."

Qin Chuan explained casually.

"Hah! What a joke. Great pirates bowing to the World Government like dogs? That's a disgrace to what it means to be a pirate.

Do I know any of these so-called Seven Warlords?" Douglas Bullet sneered, disgusted by the idea.

"Actually... yes. You know at least one of them personally. Someone you even fought with in the past. And that guy's doing quite well for himself these days."
