Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Just Give Me Three Kowtows

"Too late—they're already here!" After flashing a faint smile, he stood up and stretched lazily.

Douglas Bullet, meanwhile, downed the rum in his wooden cup in one gulp!

Then, the two of them walked straight out of the tavern.

As soon as they stepped outside, the entire street was empty. At the far end of the road stood several fishmen, all armed.

Clearly, they had sealed off the entire town.

"A lockdown? Quite a grand entrance for this pirate crew," Douglas Bullet mocked as he saw the scene.

"Let's go," Qin Chuan patted his shoulder, and the two began walking toward the port.

"Stop right there! Take another step, and don't blame us for being rude!" a sharp-mouthed fish-man wielding a spear shouted at them.

But in the next instant, Douglas Bullet moved.

Without suspense, a few more corpses were left on the scene.

From the houses lining both sides of the street, the townspeople peeking through their windows couldn't help but gasp when they saw what had happened.

In their eyes, Arlong was already a demon. But this man before them was countless times more terrifying than any demon they'd ever imagined.

As the two of them approached the port, a pirate ship with a flag featuring two crossed skulls and a red sharp-nosed shark emblem in the center docked at the pier.

"Pretty quick, aren't they?" Qin Chuan chuckled playfully.

"Whatever, let's just consider this as doing a good deed for the Marines. Who knows, maybe they'll give us some 'Good Pirate' award someday," Douglas Bullet said casually.

At that moment, as the pirate ship came ashore, over a dozen pirates leaped down from the vessel.

Leading them was a fish-man with a long, jagged, saw-like nose, wearing an open casual shirt.

On his exposed chest, the left side bore the mark of the Sun Pirates, while his left forearm carried the symbol of the Arlong Pirates.

Clearly, this was the captain of the Arlong Pirates—Arlong himself.

Standing to his left was a fish-man with lips shaped like two trumpets, six arms, a silly yet friendly appearance, silver-gray hair tied in multiple tufts, and a Sun Pirates tattoo on the center of his forehead.

This fish-man was Hatchan (Hachi), later rescued by Monkey D. Luffy, but now a cadre of the Arlong Pirates.

To Arlong's right stood another cadre—Kuroobi, a cartilage fish-man with twin spiked tufts of hair tied like cannons, and a Sun Pirates tattoo carved on the right side of his chest.

Behind them stood the rest of the Arlong Pirates' grunts.

"You two—what the hell are you supposed to be? Coming to my turf causing trouble? Looks like you've got a death wish!" Arlong berated them the moment he stepped ashore.

"My name is Douglas Bullet. Ever heard of me?" Douglas Bullet replied calmly.

"Bu—Bullet?" Hearing this name, Arlong was stunned on the spot, his voice faltering.

He had read today's World News, and prominently featured in the headlines was the story of Douglas Bullet, a notorious pirate from Roger's era, teaming up with a mysterious young man to break out of the heavily guarded underwater prison—Impel Down.

Now, the man before him claimed to be that very Douglas Bullet. And that young man standing beside him—wasn't he the very same fugitive on the newspaper's front page?

Realization hit Arlong hard, and he couldn't help but swallow nervously. This time, he'd stumbled into serious trouble.

He'd been thriving here precisely because there were no true powerhouses in these surrounding villages. That was the only reason he had been able to act so arrogantly.

But now, facing two individuals of absolute strength, Arlong was starting to panic.

"Boss, should we just kill them?" At that moment, Kuroobi, who hadn't seen the morning paper and wasn't familiar with Douglas Bullet, coldly suggested.

Upon hearing this, Arlong's face turned pale!

But surrounded by so many of his subordinates, he couldn't afford to show weakness. So he forced himself to say, "Why have you two come here?"

"Nothing much," Qin Chuan said indifferently, arms crossed in front of his chest. "We just passed by and had a drink. Then, some fish-man from a so-called 'Arlong Pirates' crew got bored and decided to pick a fight. And now here we are."

"So… it's all a misunderstanding, then. Why don't you two leave now? I don't want to fight today," Arlong probed cautiously.

At this moment, he was desperately hoping that Qin Chuan and Douglas Bullet would simply walk away.

That way, at least he could save some face.

But clearly, he was dreaming.

"Leave? Like hell, we will! Get on your knees right now and give me three kowtows first!" Qin Chuan roared in fury.

What the Arlong Pirates had done around these parts was disgusting enough that even Qin Chuan couldn't stand it.

And now this bastard dared to speak such arrogant words—an outright insult to both Qin Chuan and Douglas Bullet!

Hearing Qin Chuan's demand for him to kowtow three times, Arlong's face instantly fell.

Meanwhile, Kuroobi couldn't hold back any longer!

With a sudden burst, he charged straight at Qin Chuan!

In the blink of an eye, he was upon him, throwing a fierce punch with his right fist.

But Qin Chuan simply stood there smiling, motionless.

Just as Kuroobi's fist was about to strike Qin Chuan's face, it suddenly stopped dead in midair!

His fist—frozen in place—was only ten centimeters away from Qin Chuan's face.

And that ten centimeters became a chasm he would never be able to cross!

The next second, Kuroobi coughed up a mouthful of blood, his eyes widening in disbelief as he looked down at the fist that had buried itself deep in his own abdomen.

He tried to speak, but found he didn't even have the strength to utter a single word.
