One Piece: Signing In as a Pirate Begins with Roger's Execution

Chapter 79: Chapter 79: The Helplessness of a Father

Kuzan used his powers to create an ice wall, blocking the flames that filled the sky.

He had originally come here with Saul, but he never expected to overhear a secret he wasn't supposed to know.

That secret was the speculation about the Void Century!

Professor Clover and Olvia had no intention of hiding it, and they revealed this information to both Saul and Kuzan.

This revelation shook their entire worldview to its core.

"Given all this, why don't you two run? Staying here means certain death!"

Saul couldn't bear to watch Olvia and Professor Clover perish here, so he tried to rescue them.

However, Olvia and Professor Clover had already made up their minds. They were willing to sacrifice themselves to ensure the safety of Ohara's residents.

They were the closest to the truth of history. If they survived, the World Government would relentlessly hunt them down.

They had no choice but to make this decision.

Kuzan could understand their resolve, but Saul, ever stubborn, refused to accept that Olvia would die.

Kuzan had no choice but to freeze him temporarily and then looked at Olvia.

"Is what you said about the truth of history really true?"

"I'm not sure whether it's true or not. This matter is for you to judge on your own," Olvia shook her head.

At that moment, a massive tremor shook the entire island of Ohara.

The island had been continuously bombarded, and its foundation had already been severely damaged.

If this firepower continued, Ohara would be completely obliterated!

Kuzan gave Olvia a deep look, then grabbed Saul's clothes and took him away.

Olvia and Professor Clover exchanged one last look, then threw themselves into the fire without hesitation.

On the ship's deck, Sakazuki sneered when he saw Kuzan and Saul return. He didn't care about the two of them, instead turning his attention to the sky and wildly punching the air.

"Magma Meteor—"

With Sakazuki's roar, fiery boulders, far exceeding the power of the Buster Call, rained down from the sky.

In an instant, they covered the entire island of Ohara!

The destructive rocks and terrifying lava engulfed the island in just one second!

Along with the Buster Call's artillery fire, Ohara was completely submerged beneath the sea.

The island was gone forever!

"Two useless fools! Wait until we return and see how Sengoku deals with you!"

"Hmph!"

Sakazuki snorted coldly, flicked his cape, and with a graceful step, he returned to his warship.

Kuzan released the freeze on Saul.

"It's so cold… I thought I was going to die…" Saul trembled, struggling to speak as he was still frozen solid.

He never wanted to experience the power of the Ice-Ice Fruit again in his life.

"Saul, you're too impulsive. Even if someone you know is involved in the execution, you shouldn't have rushed in like that.

If I hadn't been there, would you have still tried to protect her?"

Hearing Kuzan's words, Saul fell silent, not responding.

Because deep down, he truly had been thinking that way just moments ago.

Kuzan sighed and patted his leg before returning to his warship.

This Buster Call had technically been a success, but the mission was far from perfectly executed.

They would definitely face punishment upon their return.

As for Karl…

He had casually taken a pirate ship and was heading towards Marineford.

With his speed, he would reach Marineford soon, but Karl didn't want to face the scolding so quickly…

Five Days Later

Karl, Kuzan, and the others returned to Marineford simultaneously and were immediately summoned to the independent office of Admiral Sengoku.

Karl sat upright, with Kuzan and Sakazuki by his side.

Since Saul was a Giant, he wasn't in this meeting; Sengoku would speak to him separately later.

Sengoku gave Kuzan and Sakazuki a brief reprimand for their actions, along with some light punishments. Finally, his gaze turned to Karl.

The focus of the issue now was on Karl.

"Well, Karl, you were given the Buster Call directly by the Five Elders, and you dare to go save the civilians? You really have some nerve!"

"Have we spoiled you so much lately that you've become this reckless?"

"Do you even realize the consequences of your actions? Do you know what this will lead to?"

Sengoku shouted angrily at Karl.

Karl humbly accepted the scolding, though he might not change his ways.

"Admiral Sengoku, I was careless. I failed to keep an eye on that little brat, which led to this disaster. I take full responsibility.

I hope Admiral Sengoku will punish us both with the harshest standards, to maintain authority within the Marines!

Only by doing so can we ensure the stability of the Navy. You can't keep indulging this little brat!"

Sakazuki stood up, speaking sternly.

Even if it meant dragging himself down, he wanted Karl to suffer a little. This was something neither Karl nor Sengoku had expected.

Kuzan, who was standing nearby, felt a headache. He had something to say, but he feared that speaking up would only drag Karl down further.

So, he decided to stay silent and wait for Sengoku's orders.

However, Sengoku was clearly troubled.

He couldn't afford to stop indulging Karl, as it was a command from the Five Elders when Karl was younger.

"Hmph! Sakazuki, sit down! This is not your place to speak."

"But Karl's actions have caused such a mess that it's beyond my control. From now on, Karl will go with me to see the Five Elders, and we'll see what they say."

"See the Five Elders? Admiral Sengoku, isn't this a bit too serious?

And he's only a captain, he doesn't have the qualifications to meet the Five Elders!"

Sakazuki was stunned.

He had only wanted to teach Karl a lesson, to show him the consequences of defying orders. But meeting the Five Elders was something that even Sakazuki himself didn't have the privilege to do.

Once the Five Elders got involved, it usually meant a death sentence!

This was something Sakazuki definitely didn't want to see.

Even though he didn't like Karl, that didn't mean he wanted to see him dead.

"Admiral Sengoku, does Karl really have to meet the Five Elders?"

Kuzan also looked worried, fearing that once Karl went in, he might never come out.

Sengoku sighed and waved his hand.

"Don't worry about this. There are things you don't need to know in detail. It's for your own good.

Karl, do you have any thoughts? Are you regretting it now?"

"Admiral Sengoku, don't joke with me. I didn't do anything. Why should I regret anything?"

Karl stubbornly denied that he was the one who had saved the Ohara villagers.

Seeing Karl still acting stubborn, Sengoku coldly snorted.

"Heh, very well. I hope you can still act so tough when you meet the Five Elders!"

"None of you are anything! Meeting adjourned!"
