One Piece: My Name is Jack, I'm Very Resistant to Beating

Chapter 36: Chapter 36: Do You All Want to Dance Too?

Pab raised his head, glaring furiously at Jack as he shouted,

"I'm Pab! I'm cruel as hell, and let me tell you—I don't sing!"

"But dancing? I'm not half bad. After I kill you, I'll bury you and perform a dance on your grave!"

"Triple Thrust!"

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Pab's weapon, a slender rapier, was already in his hand before Jack closed the distance. Despite being a Supernova for only a year, Pab had been a seasoned general in his kingdom's army, with combat experience to match. Taking advantage of Jack's momentary distraction by his taunts, Pab lunged forward, unleashing a flurry of three precise thrusts.

When the strikes landed, leaving faint crimson marks on Jack's chest, Pab froze, his confidence shaken. He looked up in disbelief.

Jack tilted his head slightly, glancing at his chest where the blade had struck. He brushed his hand over the marks dismissively and let out a disappointed sigh.

"Is that all you've got? And dancing—" He smirked. "Let's hope it's not the kind where you flail your limbs like an idiot."

Whoosh!

Pab's rapier shot forward again, this time clashing directly with Jack's spiked kanabo. But the moment their weapons connected, Pab felt an overwhelming force reverberate through his sword. The power behind Jack's strike pushed him back relentlessly, his feet skidding across the ground. After retreating several paces, he finally regained his footing.

"Not bad," Jack remarked, flexing his neck. "Your strength and Haki are decent—enough to almost make a name for yourself. You've got some skill."

Jack's kanabo, however, was no ordinary weapon. It was larger and heavier than Kaido's own, to the point where Jack had once found it inconvenient to wield. He'd even attached a locking mechanism to his waistcoat to keep it secure during travel.

Over time, as Jack grew stronger and trained relentlessly under Kaido's supervision, he began handling it effortlessly. The weapon's viciously spiked design had earned it the name Giant Fang.

Despite Pab's impressive agility, his efforts to match Jack's sheer power felt futile. A few exchanges were enough for Pab to conclude that facing Jack head-on was suicide. Jack's strength was monstrous, and his defenses impenetrable—his muscles were tougher than steel, even against attacks imbued with Armament Haki.

"I'll have to wait for the perfect opening," Pab thought, strategizing. "He's arrogant and confident—that kind of fighter always leaves a weak spot. I just need one clean shot."

As if reading Pab's mind, Jack smirked, completely unfazed by the battle. His countless beatings at Kaido and King's hands, combined with Maria's poison-soaked training baths, had hardened him to attacks like Pab's. He hardly flinched, even when struck.

Still, Jack noticed something odd. Among the guards watching their duel, one figure's gaze felt particularly intense. Jack's rudimentary Observation Haki picked up on the presence, but he couldn't pinpoint the person.

Meanwhile, Pab seized the moment, spotting Jack's distraction. Channeling his battle-hardened instincts, he called out loudly, "Buck! Cover me!"

Buck, stationed nearby with his flintlock rifle, had been eyeing Jack closely. Hearing Pab's call, he didn't hesitate—he pulled the trigger.

Bang!

Jack, sensing the bullet too late, had no choice but to hastily coat his forehead with Armament Haki. The projectile struck with a metallic clang, bouncing off his head harmlessly and falling to the ground.

But that split second was all Pab needed. His rapier gleamed as he lunged forward, the blade twisting like a blooming rose.

The blade pierced Jack's chest, slipping between his ribs. Had Jack not instinctively shifted his body, the strike would've gone straight through his heart.

Thunk!

Jack's expression darkened, his head lowering as pain rippled through his body. His teeth clenched, and he let out a low grunt.

Pab's face lit up with triumph as he tried to pull his sword free for another strike. But no matter how hard he tugged, the blade wouldn't budge—it was trapped in Jack's iron-like muscles.

"Captain Pab!" his crew shouted in panic.

Before Pab could react, a massive hand shot out, wrapping around his neck. Jack lifted him effortlessly off the ground. Pab struggled desperately, clawing at Jack's arm, but his strength was no match. His face turned pale as his air supply dwindled, his lone eye rolling back in his head.

"You were saying something about dancing, weren't you?" Jack murmured, tightening his grip. "Then dance for me."

Thwack! Thwack! Thwack!

With a casual swing, Jack tossed Pab into the air, his body spinning uncontrollably like a top.

Jack didn't stop there. Gripping his kanabo with both hands, he swung it downward with devastating force. The impact sent Pab's skull flying into the distance, his body crumpling lifelessly to the ground.

Turning to the remaining pirates, Jack's gaze sharpened. He hefted his kanabo onto his shoulder and growled,

"So? Do you all want to dance too?"
