Chapter 26: No Escape!
Chapter 26: No Escape!
"Well shit!" Ken thought to himself as he looked back for a second and ran.
That brief scan allowed him to see just what it was that had come for him, and it wasn't something he wanted to have a second look at.
It was another beast, a humanoid one to be exact.
Holding a sword in its hand, it moved slowly towards him, as if it had all the time it needed to kill him.
But what was more fearsome about it was the tentacles coming out of its belly latching on the ground and moving eerily, and that wasn't all as its three heads moved frantically scanning for him, and the wings on its back that looked like fused hands did nothing to making it more aesthetically pleasing.
If anything, this was the most hideous thing Ken ever imagined himself looking at.
Were things like this even supposed to exist in One Piece? Or was Oda too worried that the kids watching his show would be traumatized?
In any case, Ken definitely thought he would have.
"Shit, shit, shit!" Ken cursed as he ran as fast as he could.
What was that thing? Who sent it after him?
He had to escape. As fast as possible.
*FWSHHH*
Unfortunately, that proved impossible.
Ken looked as the monster flew down in front of him.
"It can fly?" He shouted. This time he actually did so out loud.
A humanoid monstrosity that shouldn't even exist, and it could even fly at that?
Just which son of a maniac created something like this? Whoever did should be burned and buried 20 miles deep, then reincarnate in hell to burn some more.
The monster pointed its sword at Ken as if challenging him.
Was it conscious? Could it think? or did it work on commands?
Ken's mind, which was on overload, thought of these questions without him having to consciously do so, and the more it thought, the more it feared this thing.
Seeing how he had no way to escape from here, he thought of the next best thing and brought out another needle.
*PTUI*
"..."
"..."
Ken and the monster looked at each other as none of them moved.
And that's when it hit him. This thing was immune to poison.
While he looked cautious and ready to do anything to escape, his mind was thinking of something else.
'What's this? Why did the difficulty increase so suddenly? I shouldn't meet with anything like this anytime now.' One side of his brain thought.
'I can use this as a stepping tool to get more experience. While people struggle with normal humans, I can struggle with something superior. A human with wings!' Another side thought.
'There's no escape. There's no hiding. I can only confront it. Should I sacrifice something to run? Or should I just give up and see where it took me?'
This was an example of how complex his thinking was, as he thought of multiple things at once and this way barely 3 thoughts of dozens.
In the end. The young man thought of using barely any energy to first analyse this thing, and from then on he would decide his next move.
"Come over here!" he shouted and rushed towards it.
And the monster, whose name was ironically, Angel, got down and rushed towards Ken with the same speed.
It wasn't its maximum speed, but it had regressed its level to Ken's. This was something he noticed, and it made things better for him, so he didn't worry.
If it wanted him dead, then he would have a much harder time than this.
But since it was like this, then he was going to make it regret ever thinking of doing so.
The monster had a sword made of bones, but its edge was sharp, as sharp as Ken's sword.
*SLASH* *FWSHHHH* *Thud*
With one slash, the monster was thrown back a few steps back, as for Ken...
*Thud* *Thud* *Thud*
He was still not that strong physically; however this monstrosity was made, it had the power of many humans at once, and none of them were weak.
"Ugh!" Ken got up and scratched his head before he looked at the angel, who was coming at him slowly.
"heh." he chuckled.
What a wrong move it made.
Getting up, He was ready to get rid of this monster once and for all.
