Chapter 6: The Snake
The next day, Ben was walking near a lake. He thought to himself some of these animals looked similar to the ones Luffy trained with during the time-skip. However they were different. Ben still hadn't figured out the where or when question. He decided he needs to train a bit more with the animals. However if he wants to get stronger he needs a mentor, someone like Silver Rayleigh. Well there is always the system but it has not been much help lately.
Suddenly, a giant snake came out of the lake and blocked his path. The snake was at least twice the size of the elephant he fought. The snake's eyes were large, dark orbs. The scales around its face formed a sort of crown. Its mouth, lined with sharp fangs. It had no limbs, just a long, slender body with scales on them. Ben had a bad feeling about this.
Ben could hear the snake's scales scraping against the ground as it lunged at him. The snake's breath was hot and foul, and Ben could smell the venom on its fangs. Ben's heart was pounding in his chest, and his muscles were burning. He knew that he had to keep moving, or the snake would catch him.
He transformed into his incubus form and jumped, dodged and weaved, trying to stay out of the snake's reach. The snake was getting more and more frustrated. It hissed and roared, and its tail lashed out wildly.
Ben had an idea. He jumped up into the air and landed on the snake's back. The snake reared up in surprise, and Ben took the opportunity to grab its head. Ben squeezed the snake's head as hard as he could. The snake hissed in pain, and moved his head frantically around. Ben went flying off, hitting the tree nearby.
The snake charged again and Ben quickly jumped out of the way. This carried on for another 30 minutes. Ben was feeling tired at this stage. He needed to end this. He though, this devil fruit should have more abilities than this. He closed his eyes. He thought about Kaido`s boro breath and Sengoku`s shockwave.
He raised his hand towards the snake. He felt something. A ball of energy forming in his palms. The ball of energy got bigger. The snake was charging towards him. Ben felt the ball of energy got big enough and shot a beam from that ball.
The beam hit the snake on the head, killing it instantly. Ben was surprised at the level of power. He knew this was just the beginning and this devil fruit has more surprises.
Ben spent another month on the island, training, fighting animals to get stronger. This island was not particularly big and only wild animals seemed to habit this place.
