Kai glanced around the confined quarters, his sharp eyes taking in the limited space. The walls seemed to close in, and he smirked, despite the blood still trickling from the wound in his chest.
"It's a little too cramped in here for my liking," he said, his voice low and dangerous, eyes locked on the Cipher Pol agent. "Let's make some room, shall we?"
The agent's confident smirk faltered for the briefest moment as Kai raised his staff, channeling the power of his Gravitational Missile. A deep hum filled the air, and the very atmosphere seemed to distort around Kai's outstretched staff.
"Gravitational Missile!"
With a thunderous roar, a massive sphere of condensed gravitational force erupted from Kai's staff , slamming into the core of the ship. The room buckled immediately under the overwhelming pressure, walls crumpling inward as the ship's structure groaned in protest.
The Cipher Pol agent's eyes widened, but he reacted with the speed of a seasoned assassin. "Soru!"
In an instant, he vanished, narrowly escaping the devastating pull of the gravitational force as the missile tore through the ship like a cannonball. Wood splintered, metal groaned, and an earsplitting explosion ripped through the air.
Kai turned, running through the collapsing quarters, and leapt from the ship just as it began to tear apart beneath him. He soared through the air, the heat of the explosion at his back, and landed hard on the docks, rolling to absorb the impact.
He rose to his feet, panting, and turned to survey the aftermath. The destruction was far greater than he had anticipated. The once-massive government vessel now lay in shattered ruins, debris littering the waters around it. Flames licked at what remained of the wreckage, casting an eerie glow over the scene.
"Well," Kai muttered to himself, brushing dust from his coat, "that escalated quickly."
His moment of reprieve was short-lived. The sound of approaching footsteps drew his attention, and he turned to see three Cipher Pol agents emerging from the shadows, their faces grim. The one in the center stood taller than the others, his presence radiating menace. His sharp eyes bore into Kai with an intensity that was almost tangible.
"Do you have any idea what you just did?" the ominous agent asked, his voice cold and cutting.
Kai wiped the blood from his mouth, smirking despite the odds. "Yeah," he said, shrugging. "Gave your ship a bit of an upgrade. Hope you like open floor plans."
The two agents flanking the leader bristled at his insolence, but the taller man held up a hand, silencing them. "You think this is a joke?" he said, his tone dripping with disdain. "You've just attacked a World Government vessel. Do you even understand the consequences of your actions?"
Kai rested his sword on his shoulder, his smirk widening. "Oh, I understand," he said, his golden eyes gleaming with mischief. "But you see, I'm not really the type to care about consequences."
The leader narrowed his eyes. "You've made a grave mistake, pirate. This marks your end."
Kai twirled his sword, the blade catching the firelight as he adopted a ready stance. "Foolish," he said, his voice calm but laced with anticipation. "It will be your end ."
The two Cipher Pol agents flanking the ominous figure vanished in an instant, their voices cutting through the tense air as they uttered, "Soru." The leader remained, standing firm, his piercing gaze locked on Kai.
Kai's breath steadied as his vision shifted, a system prompt appearing in front of him.
[Quest Received:
Eliminate the CP5 Agents.
Rewards: 80,000 Runes, ???]
Kai smirked as he read the prompt, gripping his staff tightly in one hand. "Alright," he muttered, his golden eyes glinting with determination. "Let's try this."
Without hesitation, he raised his staff, casting Night Shard. A barrage of swift, near-invisible magical projectiles shot toward the Cipher Pol leader, streaking through the air with deadly precision. But just as the shards closed in, the man disappeared, his movement so fast that it seemed like teleportation.
Kai narrowed his eyes, scanning the area. "They're quite troublesome," he muttered. "I need to catch them off guard."
Before he could strategize further, the two agents who had vanished reappeared beside him, their legs already mid-swing as they unleashed Rankyaku attacks. A blade of compressed air slashed toward him from both sides, forcing him to dive and roll out of the way at the last second. The shockwaves from the missed attacks carved deep gouges into the ground, sending debris flying.
Kai clicked his tongue, brushing off the dirt as he stood. "Tch, the Six Powers are annoying," he grumbled, gripping his sword with his free hand. "They're faster when they escape, so I should just wait for them to come to me and counter."
The agents didn't give him a moment's rest. All three appeared simultaneously from different sides, coordinating a swift assault. Kai's instincts screamed, and he shifted his weight, his cleanrot knight sword flashing to life as he met their attacks head-on.
One agent aimed a Shigan at his chest, but Kai twisted, parrying with his sword and forcing the attack wide. Another lashed out with Rankyaku, and Kai spun, deflecting the air slash with a precise swing of his blade. The third came from behind, attempting a grappling maneuver, but Kai ducked low, his sword slicing upward in a counter that forced the agent to retreat.
The fight intensified, the agents moving faster than the eye could track, but Kai's reflexes and sharp instincts kept him one step ahead. He weaved through their attacks with precision, his counters forcing them to reassess their strategy.
Then, one of them got too close. The agent lunged with a Shigan, his finger glowing with deadly energy as it aimed for Kai's torso.
Kai stood his ground, smiling.
The attack struck true, piercing into Kai's side with a sickening crunch. Blood splattered, staining his coat, but Kai didn't flinch. Instead, he chuckled through gritted teeth, his voice low and dangerous. "Got you."
Without warning, shimmering crystals erupted from above the agent. "Crystal Release" The jagged formations pierced downward, trapping the agent in a deadly cage of sharp edges. The man's scream of pain echoed across the docks, his movements stilled as blood dripped from the crystal shards.
The other two agents froze a short distance away, their eyes wide as they watched the scene unfold.
Kai turned to them, blood still oozing from his wound but his grin unshaken. "You're next," he said, raising his hand.
He cast Crystal Barrage, sending a storm of razor-sharp shards hurtling toward the injured agent. Before the barrage finished, Kai slammed his staff into the ground, channeling the weight of magic into Gavel of Haima. A massive hammer of energy appeared above the trapped agent, slamming down with earth-shaking force.
The agent was sent hurtling into a nearby building, the impact leaving a gaping hole in the structure. He didn't get up.
Kai wiped the blood from his lips, his grin widening as he glanced at the remaining agents. "Two to go," he said, his voice low and filled with confidence.
Kai gripped his side, blood still seeping from the earlier Shigan wound, but his grin remained defiant. Reaching into his satchel, he pulled out a Flask of Crimson Tears. He raised it toward the two CP5 agents, the golden glow of the elixir catching their attention.
Taking a long swig, Kai sighed as the healing energy coursed through him. "You guys aren't much after all," he taunted, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.
The agents growled in unison, their frustration boiling over. They leapt back, both using Rankyaku to send blades of compressed air slicing through the smoke around Kai. The dock reverberated with the impact of the attacks, splinters of wood flying everywhere.
As the smoke cleared, Kai stood unscathed, a translucent barrier shimmering around him. His staff and sword were raised, the soft glow of Thops' Barrier encasing him. He tilted his head mockingly. "Is that it, Cipher Pol?"
One of the agents, visibly enraged, spat back, "Shut up, sea vermin!" He dashed forward, using Shigan Madara, a flurry of piercing strikes aimed at Kai. The barrier held firm, deflecting each rapid jab effortlessly.
Kai yawned exaggeratedly, leaning casually on his staff. "You're really trying, huh?" he said, smirking.
The frustration on the agent's face turned to shock as Kai slammed his staff into the ground. Rock Blaster erupted upward, jagged stones shooting out in all directions. The Cipher Pol agent narrowly evaded the blast with a quick Soru, landing a safe distance away.
"Alright," Kai said, brushing the dust off his coat. "Enough playing games. I'll have to apologize to Iceburg later about this."
