Chapter 87: The Butcher

After reading his file and after taking out his new clean phone he dialed a number. It was a number Adam had just extracted from the app's database.

This number belonged to the jail warden and the jail superintendent present in that same Central Jail.

These were the two highest-ranking officers who were deployed inside the prison. They held the ultimate authority within those walls.

In all the reports of The Butcher that Adam had read it was mentioned that The Butcher had not been idle.

He had already built up a significant network of his own inside the jail. He was a natural leader and he was moving forward very fast building his influence among the other inmates.

At the same time The Butcher's first target for now was to completely finish off the gang that had betrayed him. The gang whose name was the Black Legs. This gang mostly operated in Solo City and the surrounding cities.

The Butcher knew that if he had to challenge the Black Legs gang or if he had to defeat them then he would need people. He would need a loyal crew. That's why he was actively recruiting all kinds of people into his new prison gang.

Adam was very impressed to see this. He knew how effective The Butcher would be in his future planning. The man had ambition and a thirst for revenge. He was perfect.

He made his call to the jail warden first. The warden came under the authority of the jail superintendent but he was the one who handled the day-to-day operations of the prison.

And that jail warden knew The Butcher very well. Because The Butcher had already created a lot of ruckus inside the jail. He had been in multiple fights and had challenged the authority of the guards on several occasions.

That's why many of the policemen who were deployed inside the jail had also beaten up The Butcher.

Although The Butcher knew that he was going through a bad time right now. He knew he was in their territory. That's why he was not able to do much to fight back even if he wanted to. He was biding his time.

Just then the jail warden's phone rang in his office. He looked at the screen. He saw that he had gotten a call from an unknown number. He was very surprised to see this. He was a cautious man. He picked up the call.

Then he heard a voice from the other side. It was a young man's voice but it was direct. Adam said from the other side "Fifteen million dollars."

Hearing this the jail warden was very surprised. He often got such mysterious calls. And an opening with a price always meant that the other party wanted something from him. Something illegal.

Then the jail warden immediately said to Adam "First tell me your work. After that I will tell you my price." He was a shrewd negotiator.

Hearing this Adam said "I want The Butcher."

Hearing this the jail warden fell into thought for a few seconds. He knew that The Butcher had made many enemies both inside and outside the prison.

Even most of the police officers under his own command disliked The Butcher. They hated him because of his very aggressive nature and his refusal to be broken.

Then the jail warden said to Adam "Alive or dead?"

Adam replied to him very calmly. And he said "I want The Butcher alive. And unharmed."

Hearing this the jail warden nodded his head to himself. The request was unusual but the price was good.

"Okay," he said. "I accept your price." He was very surprised that someone was willing to pay so much for a troublesome inmate.

Because he knew that although The Butcher had made enemies with many people this was a huge amount of money.

Maybe this was also a rich man among them. Someone who wanted to get his own revenge on The Butcher.

But the jail warden did not care about the reasons at all. Fifteen million dollars was fifteen million dollars.

And if Adam that is the unknown caller had asked the jail warden for a prisoner with a bigger name. Someone important. Someone the higher-ups would notice was missing.

Then the jail warden would have increased his price significantly. But he knew that this prisoner The Butcher had no real value.

Neither was he a big established gangster nor was he connected to any powerful family. He was just a young boy.

A boy who because of his raw ambition had gotten himself trapped between these big powerful people.

Thinking this the warden laughed at the boy's fate. And he thought to himself "It seems The Butcher is going to die a very bad death.

Someone is paying a lot of money to get their hands on him." Thinking this he confirmed the deal with Adam.

Then Adam said "But before you do anything else I want to talk to The Butcher."

Hearing this the jail warden was a little surprised. This was an unusual request. "So you want to talk to The Butcher," he said. "It can be done. But there will be an extra charge for this service."

Then Adam said "Sixteen million dollars."

The warden was stunned. The person on the other end of the line was willing to pay an extra one million dollars just to talk to this worthless inmate.

Then the jail warden also understood that the person he was talking to seemed to be a very powerful and wealthy person.

Then the jail warden showing a new level of respect in his words said "I will make him talk to you in half an hour."

Hearing this Adam immediately replied "In half an hour I will call this phone again from another number." And then he immediately cut the call.

He then broke the burner mobile phone and its SIM card. He crushed the pieces under his heel and then burned them to ash.
