Ohayo!!

Chapter 4: The Ruined project

The classroom buzzed with energy as the students gathered around their desks, chatting about their upcoming project. Nuts, sitting at the last seat by the window, stared outside, daydreaming. He was jolted out of his thoughts by the teacher's loud voice.

"Settle down! Today, you'll be working in groups for a special project. Build a bridge strong enough to hold weights. Materials are provided, and you have one week. Good luck!"

Toysi turned to Nuts, his curly hair bouncing as he grinned. "Bridge-building? Easy. It's like Legos, but for adults."

Macber sighed, his tall frame slouched against his chair. "This is going to be chaos, and we all know it."

**The Beginnings of Chaos**

The trio claimed their table at the back of the library later that day. Spread before them were bundles of popsicle sticks, bottles of glue, and sheets of paper. Toysi grabbed a stick and held it up like a sword.

"Behold the mighty builder!" he declared, swinging it dramatically.

Macber swatted the stick out of his hand. "Stop messing around. We need a plan."

He laid out a detailed blueprint, complete with angles, measurements, and notes in his precise handwriting. Nuts leaned over to get a closer look.

"This looks... complicated," Nuts said, scratching his head.

"It's just a simple truss bridge design," Macber replied. "If we follow this, we'll be fine."

Toysi yawned. "Plans are for the boring. Let's just start gluing stuff together and see what happens."

Macber shot him a glare. "If we do that, it'll collapse before we even present it."

Toysi shrugged. "Then it's destiny."

Nuts chuckled nervously. "Let's just try to make it work."

**Disaster Strikes**

By the second day, their "bridge" looked more like a poorly assembled pile of sticks. Toysi had glued several pieces together at the wrong angles, claiming it was "artistic flair." Macber was furiously trying to fix it, muttering under his breath about "structural integrity."

Nuts, attempting to help, managed to knock over an entire bottle of glue, creating a sticky puddle that trapped their materials.

"Acidy!" Toysi exclaimed, laughing as he tried to pry a stuck popsicle stick off his arm. "You've cursed us again!"

Macber groaned. "We're doomed."

"You guys are overthinking it," Toysi said. "Bridges are just sticks and glue, right? How hard can it be?"

Nuts sighed. "Why does everything we touch turn into chaos?"

Toysi smirked. "Because we're destined to be legends."

**The Rivalry**

As they struggled with their bridge, Coyra's group sat across the room, working quietly and efficiently. Coyra, pretending to be shy as always, barely spoke to her teammates. But every so often, Nuts would catch her glancing his way, her lips twitching into a small smile.

Toysi noticed and elbowed him. "You've got a fan, Acidy."

"Shut up," Nuts whispered, his cheeks turning red.

"She's totally into you," Toysi continued, smirking. "Maybe you should ask her to inspect our masterpiece."

Nuts shook his head. "It's not a masterpiece. It's a mess."

"Exactly," Toysi said. "Girls love messes. It's endearing."

Macber sighed. "Can we focus, please? Coyra isn't going to save our grade."

But Nuts couldn't help sneaking another glance at her. She was fiddling with a popsicle stick, her long hair falling over her face. When she noticed him looking, she blushed and quickly looked away.

**Of Darts and Destiny**

The week flew by, and the day of the presentation arrived. Their bridge, though wobbly and uneven, was somehow still standing. Toysi had even added a decorative stick that served no purpose other than "aesthetic appeal."

The teacher walked around, inspecting each group's work. Coyra's team went first, presenting a sleek, flawless bridge that held every weight with ease. Nuts watched Coyra, who was smiling shyly as the teacher praised her team's effort.

"Now that's a bridge," Macber muttered, glaring at their own creation.

"Relax," Toysi said. "Ours has character."

When it was their turn, they carefully carried their bridge to the front of the room. It wobbled dangerously as they set it down.

"Ladies and gentlemen," Toysi said, addressing the class, "we present the future of bridge design."

The teacher placed the first weight on the bridge. It held.

"See?" Toysi whispered. "We're geniuses."

The second weight was added. The bridge creaked but stayed intact.

"We might actually survive this," Nuts muttered.

But then, as the third weight was placed, the bridge collapsed in spectacular fashion. Popsicle sticks and glue flew everywhere, and one piece even hit the teacher's desk with a loud thud.

The class erupted into laughter.

"Well," Toysi said, grinning, "that went better than expected."

**Coyra's Smile**

After class, the trio cleaned up the remains of their bridge. Nuts was stacking broken pieces when Coyra walked over, holding a stick that had landed near her feet.

"Hey, Acidy," she said softly, handing it to him. "I think this belongs to you."

Nuts froze, staring at her. "Uh… thanks."

Coyra smiled, her cheeks turning pink. "Your bridge was… creative."

"Creative?" Nuts repeated, his voice cracking.

She laughed, a quiet, musical sound. "It was fun to watch. Better than being perfect, don't you think?"

From behind them, Toysi leaned over to Macber. "She's totally into him."

"Don't encourage him," Macber muttered.

Ignoring them, Coyra tucked her hair behind her ear. "Maybe next time, we could work on something together?"

Nuts blinked, his heart racing. "Y-yeah! I mean, sure. Definitely."

Coyra smiled again before walking away.

As soon as she was out of earshot, Toysi clapped Nuts on the back. "You did it, buddy! She's hooked!"

Nuts groaned, but he couldn't stop smiling.

**Reflection**

As they left the classroom, Toysi threw an arm around Nuts' shoulders. "See? Destiny. Our bridge may have fallen, but your love life just got a solid foundation."

Macber rolled his eyes. "Let's hope he doesn't ruin that, too."

Nuts laughed. Despite the chaos of the week, he felt oddly content. Sure, their project had been a disaster, but he had his friends—and maybe, just maybe, something more with Coyra.

Sometimes, he thought, destiny works in mysterious ways.
