Chapter 501
Taxi to Anna’s House.
I plugged in my earphones and watched Episode 2 of Credits on my phone.
I had to go to the Celestial Realm Screening and wanted to watch Credits too.
Might as well watch while I’m on the way.
But more importantly…
‘It’s definitely fun…’
I had a fleeting thought that maybe Episode 1 was just a water rocket type of deal, but Episode 2 was enjoyable too. In fact, as I slowly gained more understanding of the game, it became even more entertaining.
Could this be a big hit?
For a moment, the title “Actor Kim Soo-hyun starring in a global masterpiece” flashed through my mind, but it felt like too much hype, so I quickly dismissed it.
Still, domestic recognition is bound to rise significantly.
This should get some attention at the upcoming award show.
And maybe more advertisements will come in?
I feel like I’ve become a capitalist entertainer, but…
Advertisements are a serious matter…
Gotta earn that money.
Thanks to my hard work, I had quite a bit saved in my bank account now.
Who knows, maybe I’ll even be able to buy my own place soon.
Anyway.
Throughout the taxi ride to Anna’s house, I kept up with Episode 2 of Credits.
“We’ve arrived.”
“Yup…”
Since I’d been glued to my phone, by the time we got there, I stepped out of the taxi, holding my dizzy head from motion sickness.
…Lucky I’m not late.
I turned off Episode 2 of Credits and walked into the apartment where Anna lived.
Now, where was her place again…?
After I got off the elevator and arrived on the correct floor, I attempted to recall which unit it was and pressed the doorbell.
-Who is it?
-I’ll get it!
I heard a voice from inside before the door swung open.
“Whoa, Soo-hyun’s here?!”
“What? Soo-hyun’s here?”
“I didn’t think you’d come!”
As Anna flung the door open and shouted, the members poured out from inside Anna’s house.
“Of course I came to see!”
Seeing the familiar faces of the members made me think I made the right choice in coming.
Yeah, this definitely feels more comfortable.
“Has it not started yet?”
“Oh! We were watching TV! Come in!”
“Okay.”
I took off my jacket and stepped into the warm confines of Anna’s house.
On the living room table, there was already a feast spread out, and with wine prepared, it looked like they had high hopes for this gathering.
…Way more plentiful than the studio screening, which only had snacks and drinks.
“What were you all doing?”
“Oh, us? We were watching a drama!”
“Wow… I’m seeing someone I just watched on TV in real life.”
“A drama? Oh.”
I wondered what they were watching, only to find Anna’s pride: a huge TV displaying a familiar drama.
“Isn’t it fun?”
“Oh! It’s really good!”
“I want to keep watching it~”
Right there was Episode 2 of Credits.
“I watched it on the way here too. It looked great!”
“Exactly! Soo-hyun, you were in Episode 1.”
“Yeah, it was okay, right?”
“That was insane! When are you showing up again?”
“I’m not sure, honestly.”
I casually replied while sitting on a nearby sofa.
The side I was involved with and the main characters are completely different filming locations.
In fact, my script was separated from theirs, so I didn’t have detailed knowledge.
“Still, you should be in this episode.”
The antagonist side usually appears at least once each episode, so I figured my appearance would come eventually.
I remembered my contract was for appearances per episode, so the payment was pretty sweet.
“Oh….”
“Oh, there he is.”
And at that moment.
The scene transitioned on screen to the antagonist’s office.
Sitting alone was my senior Jeong-cheon—not the antagonist—and beside him was Jisoo, neatly dressed and holding documents.
“Wow, she looks great.”
I assessed, comfortably munching on snacks.
Absolutely beautiful.
Of course, it’s Jisoo.
“…Soo-hyun, you really are an actor, huh?”
“Yeah?”
“I can’t believe it’s the same person.”
“Ah, that makes sense.”
After all, I’ve been acting for years.
It’s only natural to feel a sense of disconnection between the character on screen and myself.
“Well, she’s Jisoo and I’m Soo-hyun.”
From the beginning, even I separate my character from myself, so it’s only natural for the average viewer to feel the same disconnect.
“Aha….”
“By the way, I have a question.”
“Go ahead.”
“The trailer showed you with short hair, but you’re in long hair here?”
“Ah.”
Come to think of it, I did appear confidently with short hair in the trailer.
But now showing up with long hair in the drama must’ve raised some questions.
“Isn’t that a spoiler? Can you tell me?”
I could quench that curiosity right now, but…
If I spill the beans, it isn’t just a spoiler; it’s a massive spoiler.
So I casually warned her…
“Uh? No, no, it’s okay. You don’t have to tell me.”
Anna, who had asked me the question, looked alarmed.
Given her usual passion for dramas, it’s no surprise she detests spoilers.
I thought about playfully spinning a fake spoiler to tease her, but she looked so serious that I refrained.
Well, as an actor, I can’t lessen a viewer’s enjoyment.
“Speaking of, do we have to miss our concert?”
“Oh right! It’s starting soon, isn’t it?”
“Only a few minutes left.”
Watching Credits was good and all, but…
I also had to catch the Live Concert.
“Then let’s watch the concert first and then we’ll get back to this!”
“If we miss it, we’ll need to do a recap back home.”
“Ahh!”
“I guess everyone has to watch the rest from home….”
So.
We set Credits aside for a bit.
And entered the waiting room of the Live Concert on the Celestial Realm official channel.
“Wow, look at how many people are already here.”
“It’s really packed.”
Even though it hadn’t even started yet, the waiting room was buzzing with lots of people.
Seeing the numbers compared to before, it was clear that the Celestial Realm had grown so much.
Well, it’s been four years, after all.
By now, it’s reasonable to have hit some growth milestones.
“It’s starting now!”
“Wow, I’m nervous.”
Maybe it was because I’d been so caught up with Credits, but it felt like there was barely any time left until the concert started.
“Phew.”
I also felt a bit of excitement.
Just like Credits turned out well, the concert ought to go smoothly too.
I hope The Six prepared well for it.
For us, we essentially provided the source; the cooking entirely lay in The Six’s hands.
This was only my third concert, including my solo one, and the company still felt kind of new and inexperienced.
With a slight sense of tension, I watched as the concert began.
“It’s starting!”
“The screen is changing!”
“Yay!”
“Lights out!”
And so.
Hearing the excited voices of the members, I watched as the 2nd Annual Celestial Realm Year-End Live Concert kicked off.
The waiting room morphed into the live broadcast room.
And a countdown appeared on the screen.
Then, the first thing visible was an enormous concert hall filled with a massive crowd as the stage brightened, revealing six familiar figures.
All uniquely dressed in characters from the 1st generation.
Hmm, of course, the seniors have to go first.
The monumental year-end live concert opened with “Celestial Realm,” the title track from the first album.
– Hahaha
– Wow
– This is it
– Amazing, haha
The chat reaction was fantastic; after all, it’s a song with roots and authenticity.
I remember how hard we struggled to record it back then.
Come to think of it, was that the first time I met Kang Woo-hyeon the composer?
That track holds significant meaning for me.
As I got lost in those thoughts, the song ended.
Then, generations 2, 3, and 4 followed in succession to sing together.
Once the 4th generation finished, it felt like the member introductions as well as the opening had concluded, yet already around 30 minutes had passed with four songs in total.
Wow, time’s flying.
While munching on snacks, I was mesmerized by the ongoing stage without realizing how much time had passed.
Before it started, I felt so anxious, but now it was simply joyful.
So.
I decided to put aside my nervousness, worries, and anxieties.
As a fan of Celestial Realm, I’d enjoy the live performance.
**
Today is a good day.
Both the Credits and the suspenseful Celestial Realm live concert exceeded my expectations.
With a large audience, the Celestial Realm live show showcased a blend of diverse combinations and songs.
Sometimes with peers from the same generation, sometimes mixing seniors and juniors.
Occasionally featuring guests or solo tracks.
They showcased all kinds of talents and didn’t shy away from any music genre, stimulating both eyes and ears.
Plus, to top it off, The Six presented a beautifully edited end-of-year group carol song with 24 participants.
…I genuinely have no idea how they pulled that off.
They managed to make it look seamless as if recorded all together when it was actually done separately.
Anyway, I truly lost track of time.
The year-end live event displayed viewer counts I’d never seen before.
[Thank you!!]
[See you again next time!]
With all of us standing side by side for the final bow and goods announcement, it finally came to an end.
“Wow….”
“I feel like I’m going to cry.”
“Again, huh?”
It was really beautiful.
There was even a member already getting teary-eyed at that moment.
But more importantly… the goods must have sold well, right?
Those crafty folks at The Six.
They go and create such intense emotions followed by a goods introduction.
Could I possibly hold back my wallet at this moment?
“I really feel like it turned out great….”
“Hey, don’t cry, unni!”
The living room was a sea of tears, but…
I quietly glanced around and pulled out my phone.
I had logged onto none other than the online site selling Celestial Realm goods.
Since so many people were trying to access it, there was a considerable loading delay until the merchandise page finally popped up.
Most of it was already sold out.
Scrolling down, I searched for a specific item.
One listed with five digits following its price.
The exorbitant priced Miro’s Moon Blade.
Honestly, I wondered who would buy this given the price…
But perhaps my promotion had worked wonders?
[SOLD OUT]
Seeing that bold text, I tightened my fist.
“Soo-hyun, oh no….”
“Wasn’t the concert amazing?”
“Yeah. It was the best….”
Honestly, it truly was the best concert.
