Nothing is Impossible

Chapter Thirty-Four: Changing Classes

Atlas looked out over all his mini solar system, the solar system that held all his skills and all the information that contained himself, the essence of who he was. He smiled as he looked over all the skill planets he had just changed before shifting his attention to the two bright globes near the sun of the solar system.

These two orbs represented a large part of his combat and growth potential. They were his classes.

One was a dark orb with skulls and a dark energy wafting off of it, a scythe lazily spinning around the orb like one of Saturn rings. This represented his Reaper Class.

The other one was a green and red orb that seemed to have a black hole inside of it and it consumed everything around it. This represented his Absorber Class.

Atlas went over to the Reaper Class and wondered what the heck he was supposed to do. He looked around and noticed that there was only one thread on this orb, and it was connected completely to the system. I was multiple times larger than the largest thread that Atlas had come across previously. There were what looked like some other threads, but they were so thin they could be compared to a piece of hair.

Atlas was appalled, why did his class look so pathetic? What was up with that? Atlas looked at the huge thread that was made and tied to the system, and he took a deep breath. He smiled confidently, feeling the fire rage in his chest as he outstretched his hand and used every last drop of his willpower to get rid of the thread that was taking his agency from him.

The thread fought back with a vengeance but Atlas met it equally. He cleared his mind of all negative thoughts and pressed forward, constantly digging his heels into the ground and fighting back for everything he was worth.

Atlas felt something different in this thread, as though there was a sliver of something more. As though a tiny little being existed inside of this thread, an emissary of the system itself, sent to complete its divine will.

Atlas thought that was bull.

He rejected the system's emissary, pressing down with a powerful hand that squeezed the thread for everything it was worth.

The thread seemed to smirk and matched Atlas blow for blow. It almost felt like it was toying with him. Like it knew it would be the inevitable winner and was playing with Atlas just to make its life more interesting. It was like the system itself, scoffing in the face of those weaker than it. Taking over Atlas without him knowing and conning him into something he didn't know the consequences of.

He thought of everything he had lost, and how he would never have caused him to go in that direction of development. Killing everyone and everything around him. He would become a loner and a destroyer, wandering around and killing everyone he encountered. Well, he would do the opposite. He would be a bastion of justice. Protecting those weaker than him and fighting against the evil and vile things of this world.

He made a promise to himself right then, he would become powerful enough to put a stop to the evil machinations of the system. He wasn't opposed to the system, just it taking agency from the people who were just trying to grow in power.

With this promise, his resolve firmed, and he let loose a roar of righteous fury, his will clamping down on the thread with everything he had. He sensed a flash of surprise, and the thread began to fight back.

But it was too late.

The thread vanished in a burst of power, and a sucking sound began to grow louder and louder. Atlas began to look around in confusion as he watched the orb he was on began to go to the Absorber Class and he frantically appeared on a different Skill Planet as he watched the skills collide, both of them crashing together and vanishing into absolutely nothing.

Atlas stared in shock as a system message in front of him.

You have destroyed your classes, and must choose new ones the next day or you will permanently become classless.

You have completely deleted the system's influence from yourself, and have made multiple drastic changes to yourself. Beware the path you walk young sovereign.

You may now choose a class from the following list.

Juggernaut (Epic): You are a powerful warrior who specializes in physical stats, dominating everything with your immense stats and skills. +10 to All physical stats.

Iron Wall (Rare): You are a defender, someone who protects instead of damages, your damage taken and damage dealt are halved. + 10 Con, +4 Str and Dex.

Explosion Mage (Epic): You are a master of making things go BOOM! You love to see things explode and harness the magic of fiery death. + 20 to Int and Wis.

Keen Thinker (Rare): Your mind is a bastion, and it will not be entered without a fight. Illusions are weak on you and it is hard to confuse you. + 6 to Int and Wis.

Atlas looked over the options, deep in thought. He immediately ruled out Explosion Mage, and after a bit more thought, he got rid of Keen Thinker as well.

He looked between juggernaut and Iron Wall. He wanted to choose Iron Wall because he had just decided to be a protector, but he realized that he could be a defender as a juggernaut as well, and it came with more substantial benefits. So after checking to make sure that he was satisfied with his choice, he chose Juggernaut.

Class Gained: Juggernaut (Epic)

No new skills gained because of the Skill Sage title.

You may now choose a subclass from the following list.

Firestarter (Rare): You start and harness fires, what more is there to understand? +3 Int and Wis.

Crafter (Common): You are able to craft and build things. + 2 free points.

Skill Builder (Epic): You have embraced skills, but shunned spells. You can no longer cast any sort of magic but you can still use mana skills that have a non magic element (For example: Fire Punch). +2 All Stats. Intelligence becomes Knowledge and Wisdom becomes Intent. You can easily interact with the Nexuses of Skills.

Spell Builder (Epic): You have embraced spells, but are haughty about skills. Your skills are half as strong. +8 Magic. Intelligence and Wisdom fuse to become Magic. You can easily comprehend and memorize all the elements, glyphs and runes with frightening acuteness.

Atlas barely glanced at the other skills before choosing Skill Builder. It was barely a choice, he was willing to give up spells if that meant diving even further into his chosen path.

Drastic Changes made. Processing…
