North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 586: Progress in the Dismemberment Case

After work, Jimmy went home first and changed his clothes before taking a cab to the hotel. When he returned home in the afternoon, he had already called Charon. This time, he wasn't looking for Winston, so he just informed Charon and didn't ask him to notify Winston.

Wearing sunglasses, Jimmy got out of the car and entered the hotel without taking them off. He walked straight to the front desk, where Charon nodded and led him to a meeting room inside after leaving the bar.

Charon: "Mr. Yang, is there anything I can help you with?"

Jimmy took out his phone and pulled up a photo: "Charon, take a look at this pattern, does it look familiar to you?"

Charon took Jimmy's phone, glanced at it, paused for a moment, and then returned it to Jimmy. "Sorry, this photo is too blurry; I can't make it out."

Jimmy: "It's okay. There's a beautiful female bartender at your bar downstairs. I remember her name is Adi, right? Is she working today?"

Charon: "I'll need to check on that."

Jimmy: "Alright, if she's here, could you let her come by for a moment? I have a feeling I saw this pattern in her tattoo."

Charon's expression changed slightly, and he frowned, "Are you sure?"

Jimmy nodded: "I haven't seen her that many times, just a vague memory. I need to confirm with her."

Charon: "Is she in trouble?"

Jimmy shook his head: "Not sure yet, the NYPD found some body parts in the East River, and this is from a tattoo on one of them. It's partially decomposed and hard to identify."

Charon: "I understand. If anything related to us comes up, please inform us in advance. We're counting on you."

Jimmy: "That's why I'm here. Please call her over. If she's not working, ask her to come by as soon as possible. I don't have much time."

Charon: "Understood, please wait here for a moment."

Charon took a bottle of green label Bourbon and a glass from the liquor cabinet next to him, poured a drink for Jimmy, and then left the meeting room. It looked like Charon would be gone for a while; otherwise, he wouldn't have gone through the trouble of bringing so many things for Jimmy.

Jimmy sat on the sofa, sipping his drink slowly.

Time passed bit by bit, and after half an hour, Charon brought Adi into the meeting room, "Sorry for the wait, Mr. Yang."

Jimmy waved it off, "No problem. Adi, can I see the tattoo on your arm?"

Adi nodded and removed her jacket, leaving only her bra, and exposed her upper body. Jimmy got up and walked over to her, realizing he was mistaken; he thought the tattoo was only on her arm, but it was on both her arm and shoulder.

Adi had quite a few tattoos; while they looked exquisite, Jimmy wasn't particularly interested or fond of tattoos.

Once he confirmed that the outline of the pattern mostly matched, Jimmy handed his phone to Adi, "Alright, you can put your clothes back on. Take a look at this photo and see if part of it looks like your tattoo?"

Adi took the phone, looked at the pattern in the photo, glanced at her right arm, and nodded, "Yes, if we look at the outline, they're quite similar."

Adi handed the phone back to Jimmy as she spoke, putting her clothes back on, "So, what's this all about?"

Jimmy: "Does this pattern have any special meaning?"

Adi: "No, I picked it out of a catalog."

Jimmy: "Who's your tattoo artist? Where are they located?"

Adi looked at Charon, who nodded. Adi then turned to Jimmy, "It's a piece from Ink Alchemy, owned by Aria—I can't quite recall the surname, I think it's Blackwood. Yes, Aria Blackwood, her shop's in an office building in the Lower District."

Jimmy: "You're sure you picked this pattern from her catalog, right? Do a lot of people choose this one?"

Adi shook her head, "Every time I visit, I call ahead to make an appointment. I'm the only client there during my visit."

Jimmy frowned: "What's special about this person?"

Adi: "She only sees clients by appointment. I don't know much else."

Jimmy: "Is there anything I missed asking about Blackwood?"

Adi: "No, since she's just a tattoo artist, I haven't pried into her other affairs."

Jimmy nodded: "Thank you, Adi, sorry for the trouble."

Adi finally smiled, seemingly assured she wasn't in any trouble, "You're welcome, goodbye, Mr. Yang."

She nodded to Charon and left the meeting room.

Jimmy watched as Adi closed the door and looked at Charon: "Is there anything concerning about this tattoo artist?"

Earlier, Adi looked at Charon for permission before answering any questions about the tattoo artist.

Charon: "This tattoo artist is a collaborator with the hotel; many people choose to go to her, including people from the administrative center. You know, most people in our line of work have a habit of getting tattoos, and everyone has different tastes; some tattoos have special meanings. It's inconvenient for these people to get tattoos from outsiders, as it could expose their identity."

Jimmy looked at Charon in surprise: "The hotel even has a dedicated tattoo artist collaborator? Does she not do business outside?"

Charon: "No, she's just a collaborator, she definitely works with external clients too, but she has requirements for her clients. Based on records, her client count seems small; she's known as a niche tattoo artist outside. Her tattoo skills are excellent and she's very popular in certain circles, with a number of well-known individuals as her clients."
