No! I don't want to be a Super Necromancer!

Chapter 207: Puppy

Damien stepped through the shimmering threshold of the portal, and for a heartbeat, it felt as though the universe shifted beneath his feet. But when his eyes adjusted, he found himself standing upon pale, cracked earth beneath a blood-red sky, an endless desert stretching outward in every direction.

His breath caught in astonishment.

Endless dunes and plateaus sprawled out before him, covered not in sand—but bones. Countless bones. Mountains of white, brittle remains of creatures who had fallen here in some forgotten age, bleached by a relentless sun that never seemed to move from its high perch.

As his eyes roamed over the vast expanse, Damien felt a profound sense of shock. Among the piles of ancient bones were the unmistakable skeletons of dragons, their massive frames twisted and shattered, their claws reaching skyward in frozen death throes. Yet beside them, more numerous by far, lay the remains of another race entirely—one Damien recognized instantly, dread crawling through his veins:

Zergs.

Billions upon billions of Zerg carcasses stretched across the landscape, their forms grotesque even in death. Giant, insectoid mandibles, curved scythes, skeletal wings, armored carapaces; every type Damien had ever trained against was there, mingled with monstrous forms he'd never even imagined. They vastly outnumbered the dragons, their fallen legions stretching infinitely beyond the horizon.

"My god," Rage Monkey muttered, eyes wide in genuine disbelief. "I've never seen anything like this. It's…a massacre of unimaginable proportions."

Blackie stared out solemnly, her gaze thoughtful but disturbed. Even General Hei Tian, known for his cold stoicism, swallowed heavily at the sheer scope of the devastation.

Yet, amid their stunned silence, Fluffy simply sniffed disdainfully, his nose scrunched with apparent disappointment.

"This is nothing," he scoffed casually, nudging an enormous zerg skull out of his path. "The Cosmic Battlefield is infinitely worse. You'd find ten times this amount in a single crater there."

Damien turned sharply, raising an eyebrow. "Worse than this?"

"Far worse," Fluffy confirmed, eyes distant for a moment. "There, the dead pile higher than mountains, filling entire worlds. And yes, Zergs are there, too."

Damien's heart tightened slightly. "You mean the Zergs aren't just confined to Earth's galaxy?"

Fluffy chuckled grimly. "Not even close. The Zergs are everywhere. They're the universal plague, the common enemy of all sentient races. They multiply faster than rabbits on steroids, mutate to survive practically any environment you can imagine. They're…" He paused, releasing a deep, dramatic sigh, as though recalling endless battles. "They're a damn headache."

Damien's expression hardened in understanding.

"No wonder the Super Soldier program trained me so relentlessly to fight them. They knew how widespread the threat really was." He thought to himself.

"They're a freaking pain in the neck, to say the least. This scene is extremely common in the main universe." Fluffy continued. "Why, I once-"

Blackie's voice suddenly cut sharply into the conversation. "We're not alone," she whispered, her daggers already held tightly. Her keen eyes scanned the horizon, narrowing slightly.

Indeed, Damien could now sense multiple presences around them. The other dragon clans, Red, Blue, Green, White, were all arriving from portals nearby, landing in distinct groups, exchanging wary glances as they quickly assessed the vast battlefield.

Humans, orcs, and even strange, towering beasts Damien couldn't recognize emerged as well, indicating the presence of multiple worlds converging here, all at once.

"The Bloodroot Ginseng is going to be hard to claim," Rage Monkey noted quietly, gripping his Emberfang Rod tightly. "We have far too many competitors."

"Don't worry," General Hei Tian reassured calmly, stepping forward with disciplined confidence. "This battlefield is immense, and its treasures are countless. To other races, the Ginseng may hold little value compared to other legendary artifacts. Our chance remains good."

Damien nodded slowly. "Good."

"System," he called quietly within his mind, "show me the attributes and status of valuable items nearby. Only the highest quality."

[Acknowledged.]

Instantly, Damien's vision shifted, layers of information filling his sight. A subtle golden glow illuminated various points around them, highlighting the few notable artifacts. Yet, disappointment quickly crossed his face; every highlighted artifact nearby was damaged, incomplete, or drained of its original power.

"These outer areas have been looted clean," Damien remarked, shaking his head slightly. "If we want anything worthwhile, we need to move deeper."

General Hei Tian nodded decisively, taking position at the front. "Follow me. The inner zones hold the true treasures."

As they advanced, the other dragon clans moved cautiously in parallel, maintaining respectful yet wary distances. Silence prevailed among them, the tension thick enough to taste on the dry, dusty wind.

Damien studied the battlefield carefully as they traveled deeper. They passed fallen zerg queens whose massive corpses had petrified over countless centuries, draconic warriors impaled on enormous zerg talons, and skeletal husks of ancient titans that loomed like small mountains. The atmosphere was oppressive, the desolation absolute.

Suddenly, Damien's vision flared brightly. Off to the left, behind a sprawling dune of twisted bone, something pulsed urgently with golden radiance.

"Wait!" Damien said sharply, halting abruptly.

Hei Tian stopped immediately, turning to Damien curiously. "Lord Damien?"

"Over there." Damien indicated sharply, pointing towards the distant, bone-covered dune. "There's a valuable treasure. It's strong. Still intact."

Hei Tian's eyes narrowed, his draconic senses alert. "Understood. We proceed with caution."

Quickly, the group moved toward the highlighted area, their feet crunching softly across bleached bones.

Fluffy strode forward confidently, eyes glittering with anticipation, sword ready in hand. Rage Monkey followed cautiously, staff crackling softly with flame. Blackie slipped silently behind Damien, vigilant and deadly, while Hei Tian kept careful watch at their flank.

As they crested the dune, Damien's breath caught again.

Before them was the largest dragon skeleton he had ever seen.

It stretched for a mindblowing 100 meters!

[Proceed 50 meters, and dig 10 meters]

"Monkey, Fluffy. Dig." Damien ordered when they reached the point specified by the system.

General Hei Tian frowned slightly in confusion but he remained quiet.

The other two, however, didn't hesitate in the slightest.

"Hahaha! Did I tell you one of my favorite pastimes is digging?" Rage Monkey bellowed with glee, already hurling himself down the slope and clawing through bone and dust like an oversized, overenthusiastic puppy.
