Tsunade closed her eyes in shame.
Kaede chuckled lightly. "Why would I kill such a valuable collector's item like you?"
Tsunade felt even more humiliated.
She was the granddaughter of the First Hokage, the princess of the Land of Fire—and now being called a collector's item?
Though it meant she wouldn't die, it felt even worse than death itself.
Kaede leaned toward her ear and whispered:
"Besides... don't you want to see what happens to old men like Sarutobi Hiruzen?"
"What are you planning?!" Tsunade turned in terror, staring at Kaede's profile.
Kaede smiled. "Even though I've declared Konoha disbanded, it's still the village I lived in for over a decade."
"And my clansmen... they long to return to their homeland."
"So... I'll just take it back!"
Tsunade looked at Kaede's smile—it was like staring into the face of a devil.
He was planning to destroy Konoha completely?!
Rage boiled inside her, but so did a deep sense of powerlessness.
He'd only used taijutsu and had completely overwhelmed her.
How could Konoha possibly resist him?
Was the village truly doomed to fall at his hands?
"Hokage-sama!"
Just then, panicked voices rang out.
Konoha's shinobi had finally realized their Hokage had been captured!
Kaede smirked playfully at Tsunade.
"Your subordinates are loyal—far more than that old man Sarutobi's ever were!"
Tsunade's heart froze. She could tell Kaede was ready to kill.
She quickly turned and roared, "Run! You're no match for him!"
But she had underestimated the loyalty of her men.
They could die, but the Hokage could not fall!
"Let go of Hokage-sama!"
A ninja flung several kunai at Kaede, but he casually lifted his sword and deflected them all.
"Water Style!" the leader shouted.
A nearby ninja quickly weaved hand seals. "Water Style: Grand Water Surge!"
A massive column of water surged toward Kaede.
The leader then pressed his hand to the ground. "Lightning Style: Ground Volt!"
Lightning infused the water, forming a combo jutsu aimed directly at Kaede.
If it hit, it would be trouble for him.
Tsunade might get caught in it too, but saving her was their top priority.
"Your men are clever... and decisive," Kaede praised.
Then, holding Tsunade, he leapt upward—and hovered in midair!
The leader cursed. "Damn it, he can fly!"
Kaede had shown this ability during the night he destroyed Konoha, but only briefly. They had forgotten.
And now, it had become a major problem.
Six jōnin stood helplessly below. Kaede was untouchable in the air.
But he wasn't running.
Realizing this, Tsunade shouted again:
"Run! Kaede won't let me go easily!"
Still, the jōnin hesitated.
They couldn't bear the guilt of abandoning the Hokage!
Kaede grinned. "Exposing your weakness like this... how troublesome."
He raised his other hand to his mouth.
"Senpō: Fire Style—Phoenix Sage Fire Technique!"
Dozens of golden fireballs rained down.
"He didn't even use hand seals?" Tsunade was stunned.
She urgently looked down toward the jōnin.
They hadn't realized the danger. Some were preparing Water Style to counter.
A heavy water wall rose to shield them.
The next second—
Boom!
The water wall shattered instantly.
Then the fireballs exploded!
Scorching flames engulfed a radius of dozens of meters. The jōnin didn't even have time to react before being consumed.
Sigh... "Dealing with these small fry really is boring."
Kaede shook his head. A simple C-rank jutsu had wiped them out.
Tsunade stared at him in horror. "You killed so many... don't you feel any guilt?!"
Kaede raised his brows. "Did I hear that right?"
"As shinobi, isn't killing our job?"
He smirked. "Seems you're delusional now. Time to end this war."
Although Kaede's Fire Release had briefly tilted the battle, the numbers told a different story.
The Takigakure shinobi weren't like the Uchiha—they fought with restraint.
In the distance, the Konoha forces were pressing their advantage with superior numbers.
Kaede, still holding Tsunade, flew directly into the center of the battlefield.
That's when many Konoha shinobi finally saw it:
Their Hokage had been captured!
"No way... Hokage-sama lost?"
"She's been captured—how are we supposed to fight now?"
"Damn it, it's that Kaede again!"
"If the enemy is Kaede, we can't win!"
In that moment, Konoha's forces recalled the fear they felt days ago—when Kaede had crushed them.
Panic spread.
The Uchiha and Takigakure forces seized the opportunity to counterattack!
Kaede raised his hand to his mouth again.
Tsunade took the chance to shout:
"As Hokage, I order you—retreat now!"
The Konoha shinobi froze. Then, without hesitation, they scattered in all directions.
And Kaede's next attack descended.
"Senpō: Fire Style—Majestic Fire Annihilation!"
Chakra poured out like a torrent.
A firestorm covering hundreds of meters swept down on the Konoha army.
The sheer force resembled a natural disaster!
The Konoha shinobi were consumed by terror.
Some accepted death and stood frozen, eyes closed.
Some tried to resist with ninjutsu.
Water Style turned to steam the moment it touched the firestorm.
Then they tried Earth Style.
But the moment the firestorm reached the ground—
RUMBLE!
The vegetation turned to ash, and the ground began to bubble and boil.
Within moments, the entire area turned into a lake of lava.
Those clever enough to use Earth Style were now suffering the consequences.
No one survived the lava lake.
In the end, with the retreat and losses from earlier, over two hundred Konoha shinobi perished.
More than a thousand Konoha ninjas had now died at Kaede's hands since the night of the village's destruction.
In less than a week, one-fifth of Konoha's forces had fallen to him.
"This... this is the true power of the Uchiha?" a Konoha ninja collapsed in despair.
"Damn it... is Konoha really finished?"
At that moment, morale hit rock bottom.
Tsunade stared at the scene in anguish. Those were her comrades!
She glared at Kaede in hatred.
"What the hell are you trying to do?!"
Kaede smiled. "You'll understand soon enough."
With the enhanced Divine Tree in his hands, Tsunade was already his.
"Someday, when the Hokage herself leads the destruction of Konoha... that'll be quite a show."
