New World with Four Husbands

Chapter 294: Exciting morning

The morning sun slowly began to rise, its first faint rays peeking over the horizon and bathing the city in a pale orange glow.

Birds could be heard chirping, filling the air with their melodic sounds, and a gentle breeze blew through the air, carrying with it the smell of fresh dew and a hint of sweetness.

The city slowly stirred to life, the sound of footsteps and murmurs filling the air as people began to start their day.

A particular house in the city still has its occupants sleeping and snoring the morning away, but a certain woman slowly regained consciousness.

Coco slowly stirred awake, her eyes fluttering open as she took in the unfamiliar surroundings, her blurry vision slowly cleared as she rubbed her eyelids, her gaze taking in a room that was unfamiliar to her.

The room she found herself in was foreign to her, the furniture and decorations distinctly different from what she was used to.

There was a sense of dread on her stomach when she saw the room's unfamiliar furnishings and design, something she had never seen before, and the bed she was lying on was soft and comfortable, the sheets wrapped around her body snugly, unlike the one she used to sleep on in the inn.

She sat up, disoriented and confused, her mind still fuzzy from sleep, her heart racing in her chest as she looked around, her mind racing with questions and her eyes opened wide when she felt a gentle, warm weight at her feet.

Looking down, her body relaxed when she found Konoha curled up at the end of the bed, the feline's soft white fur glinting in the soft morning light.

The sight of her fluffy companion, cozy and content, brought a sleepy smile to Coco's face, the grogginess of sleep receding slightly at the sight of the familiar and comforting presence.

Then, as Coco stared down at Konoha, her thoughts slowly cleared up as the memories of the previous day came rushing back.

The journey, the arrival at the house, the dust, the tired faces of the mediators, Zaque telling her to take it easy and rest— everything came crashing into her mind, the events replaying like a film.

Her mind was now clear and fully awake, her previous grogginess replaced with excitement as Coco's face broke out into a wide smile, finally realizing where she was.

The realization hit her with a jolt, the knowledge that she had finally made it to the main city sending a wave of excitement through her weary body, and despite the exhaustion that still lingered, the excitement of being in the main city buzzed through her.

A wide smile tugged at her lips as the significance of the moment sank in, all because they had made it, they were finally here— she finally arrived at the city!

"We're here, Konoha!" Coco squealed as she bounced out of the bed, her movements energetic and eager.

The sudden movement startled Konoha, who had been curled up at the end of the bed, and caused the feline to let out hiss and shoot her a glare, not used to the sudden burst of energy so early in the morning.

Coco paid no mind to the cat, her attention focused solely on the fact that she was in the main city.

"Finally!" Coco laughed before she dashed out of the room, the door slammed behind her as she ran down the hallway, her footsteps light and quick as she darted through the doorway, her body moving with a speed that is not usually seen on a woman of her physique.

The hallway outside the room she was in stretched out before her, the walls adorned with paintings and the floor carpeted with ornate rugs.

Coco's hair was tousled, her clothes wrinkled and slightly askew, but her face was bright and awake.

She glanced quickly at her surroundings, taking in the grand staircase, the elegant vases placed on every corner, and the tall windows that allowed the early morning light to stream inside, casting long shadows on the polished, but filled with dust floor.

Coco sprinted down the grand staircase, her feet moving quickly and urgently.

She paid no heed to the thin layer of dust that covered every surface, her focus solely on her destination, her footsteps echoed loudly on the wooden stairs, the sound reverberating through the still house.

She descended the stairs in long, quick strides, her pace unnaturally fast as her excitement pushed her on.

Coco ran into the kitchen, the first room she bounded into, her eyes quickly scanning the surroundings and finding that the kitchen was spacious with some of the marble countertops gleaming and the wooden cabinets free of dust.

The sun shone through the open window, casting a warm glow across the room, making it easier for her to see that the husbands did a good job on cleaning the room.

Coco came to a stop by the doorway, her chest heaving from the adrenaline and exertion, and glanced around, her eyes darting from corner to corner, eyeing every piece of furniture her eyes could land on.

Once she was satisfied, Coco exited the kitchen and stepped into the living room, her eyes immediately scanning the space.

The room was large and airy, the tall windows allowing sunlight to stream into the area, with the furniture being arranged in an aesthetically pleasing manner, the couches and chairs placed strategically to create cozy nooks.

Coco paused for a moment, her gaze sweeping over the room, remembering that she sat down on the couch after Zaque kicked her out of the kitchen.

"He probably took me to bed." Coco hummed, smiling softly, but she was snapped out of her thoughts at the sound that filtered in from outside the room, her attention immediately drawn to the noise coming from outside the house.

It was faint, but discernible, and it seemed to be coming from the direction of the gate, her ears straining to identify the sound.
