New World with Four Husbands

Chapter 290: Elyva Omylarion City

Coco stirred awake, her eyes flickering open as she slowly returned to consciousness.

Her gaze was hazy and unfocused, her movements clumsy as she tried to orient herself, and slowly, she lifted her head, lifting her hand to rub the sleep from her eyes.

A slight frown emerged in her features as she tried to clear the fog from her mind, her body feeling sluggish and heavy.

However, even if she was still disoriented with sleep, Coco noticed that the carriage had stopped, the sudden stillness breaking through the fog of her sleep.

Coco's eyebrows furrowed in confusion as she looked out of the window and saw that they were indeed stationary, their surroundings still and unmoving around them.

The realization that the journey had come to a halt filled Coco with a little hope, then she tore her gaze away from the window and looked around the carriage, just in time to see that the mediators were already looking at her.

None of them spoke, except for the mediator beside her.

"Are you feeling okay now?"

Coco turned to look at Zaque as he spoke, her expression still slightly dazed, the sound of his voice snapped her out of her daze, her focus shifting to him.

"You've been asleep for the rest of the ride. I didn't want you to feel sicker so I just let you sleep." Zaque added to his question, Coco's eyes met his, her gaze softening as she took in his words.

She nodded to answer him, her head bobbing weakly.

"Yeah." Coco said, her voice groggy and soft, dripping with sleep, "Just sleepy."

"I could tell." Zaque hummed out, the corner of his lips curving into a soft smile at her response, his expression gentle and warm.

He was about to speak again, but he was interrupted by the sound of the carriage door creaking open as someone opened the door, the light from outside flowed inside, the sudden lightness cutting through the darkness of the carriage.

Coco's gaze fell on the sight of stone walls as the door opened, the sight of unfamiliar stone bricks causing her to pause.

The cool, gray stone was different from the stones she usually sees around the forest, and strangely, the light caught against the hard surface and cast long shadows on the ground.

As Coco stared at the wall, a pair of legs came into view, causing her to look up, her gaze caught Sinclair's, his red eyes meeting hers.

Sinclair looked visibly relieved to see Coco awake and looking well, his expression softening as he caught sight of her, his gaze lingering on her face, his eyes narrowing briefly in concern before relaxing in recognition.

The tension in his body eased at the sight of her, the memory of her pain earlier fading at her improved state.

In comparison to her state earlier, Coco appeared to be in better condition, her complexion was less pale, her breathing steady and her eyes less unfocused.

It was enough to tell Sinclair that Coco had recovered.

The hybrid smiled faintly at her, his expression soft and understanding, then, he tilted his head slightly, gesturing with a subtle nod towards the direction of where they were heading.

"We're already here," Sinclair said softly, his tone almost gentle.

The words were simple, the statement straightforward, but the subtle hint of reassurance was clear in his tone.

The journey was over, their destination reached.

Just like that, Coco immediately perked up, her energy returning to her in an instant, and she sprung up from her seat, her body moving quicker than expected.

The sudden movement caught the others off guard.

However, Coco stumbled upon standing, the sudden movement causing her to stagger on her feet.

Fortunately though, Zaque was there to catch her, his arm darting out to steady her, his movement was quick and reflexive, his grip firm and sure as he supported her weight.

Sinclair looked at Coco with a frown, concern in his eyes.

"Be careful." He said, his voice stern, but gentle. "You're going to hurt yourself."

Sinclair moved closer, his gaze fixed on her as if expecting her to stumble again, but he held a hand out towards Coco, the gesture an invitation for support.

She immediately reached out, her hand grasping his as she began to descend from the carriage, Zaque reluctantly let go of her as she started to exit the carriage, trusting that Sinclair's grip was strong.

Sure enough, Sinclair's grip was firm, providing a solid anchor point for Coco as she began to descend from the carriage.

Her steps were clumsy at first— making her husbands flinch— her balance off due to her prior dizziness, but her hand remained tightly wrapped around Sinclair's, keeping her from stumbling.

The mediators simultaneously let out a sigh of relief as Coco stepped out of the carriage, relieved that she didn't hurt herself.

Coco, on the other hand, was in awe.

Her eyes were wide in surprise as she looked ahead of the carriage, the sight before her was breathtaking, a grand gate standing tall and proud before them.

One of the gates was open, the gap wide enough to enable the carriage to pass through, and that was what caught her attention the most, especially with Alithe standing beside it, engaged in conversation with someone.

The sound of their voices was a soft murmur, the conversation too low for anyone to hear, but their body language made it clear that the two were speaking to each other with familiarity.

"Let's walk through the gate." Sinclair said, squeezing Coco's hand, "I want to see your reaction upon seeing the city at night."

The two of them walked past everyone, their footsteps quick, but careful.

As they walked through the gate, Sinclair ignored his husband and made sure that he was extra cautious on leading Coco inside the city.

Then, upon seeing the sight before her, Coco's lips parted.

"Welcome to the main city of the kingdom, master— also known as Elyva Omylarion City."
