Neurolink System in the Modern World

Chapter 460: The Real Plan

Three months had passed since the dawn of the New Era.

Shao Mi, alongside six other influential families in Asia, gathered for an important meeting on her territory .

The attacks from the Zol Clan had finally subsided, but a new, more pressing issue had emerged.

They all sat around a long table, waiting for Shao Mi to speak.

She was considered as the most influential at the moment, especially since she had a breakthrough two months ago, unlocking 70% of her heritage and becoming the most powerful person among them.

Currently, the power she wielded placed her among the top 10 most powerful beings in the world.

This wasn't the informal ranking used by Cerebrum for the Gifted; rather, it was a list of individuals capable of single-handedly destroying nations. In comparison, the rankers of the Gifted list were insignificant, like ants.

For instance, Shao Mi could kill Zhang with a single blow, without even exerting 25% of her power. Such was the huge gap that separated them.

"Thank you all for being here. I'm sure most of you are aware of the problem we're facing," she began the meeting, turning her gaze towards the monitor displaying the cities previously destroyed by the Zol Clan.

However, this time, it wasn't the ruins and debris that caught their eye, but rather the giant circular black gates floating in the air. These structures had appeared ten days ago out of nowhere in various locations where the Zol Clan attacks had occurred.

This aroused everyone's curiosity, leading them to investigate the structure.

However, all their efforts, including attempts to destroy it, proved futile as the mysterious object remained immune to any type of attack.

"So, does anyone have any idea what this thing is?" Shao Mi asked, acknowledging that while she might be the strongest, this phenomenon was beyond her expertise.

It was wise to seek opinions from real experts on this matter.

"I have some guesses " A voice broke the silence, catching everyone's attention.

It belonged to a woman with black hair, dark eyes, and a brown complexion.

A red dot adorned her forehead, adding to her mystique. Her name was Rina Gazi, representing the Asura Family from India.

Known for her expertise in studying alien technology, she was a very valuable scientist for her family.

The Asura family history ran deep, much like Shao Mi's family. They both had a tradition of practicing martial arts, but their techniques differed.

While the Asura family focused on defense and making the body nearly indestructible, Shao Mi's family on the other hand focused more on offense.

But that wasn't the only aspect the Asura family was renowned for.

In the modern age, their technological standard was also a notable strength. In fact, they were not far behind in the development of Alien Technology.

As all eyes turned to her, she prepared to share her thoughts on the mysterious occurrence they faced.

"I think these structures are actually portals to another world," Rina began to explain.

After hearing her conclusion, the expressions of everyone in the room became more serious .

The notion of other worlds existing wasn't entirely foreign to them. They had encountered evidence of non-human beings predating humanity and possessed knowledge of ancient alien civilizations.

However—

The presence of these portals posed a different type of problem. Unlike ancient alien civilizations, which were just relics of the past, these portals were a real threat to humanity right now if Rina's theory turned out to be correct.

"Are you certain about this?" Shao Mi inquired, seeking reassurance regarding the credibility of Rina's words.

"I'm about 75% sure. Please take a look at this data," Rina said as she stood up and manipulated the controls.

The monitor changed images, displaying a diagram illustrating various readings.

"When we attempted to attack this structure with photon light, it didn't reflect as expected; rather, it was just absorbed," Rina explained while gesturing toward the monitor before continuing her explanation.

"As we know, matter cannot be destroyed or created. However, after contact with this structure, it seemed to vanish completely, as if it never existed. In my theory, the entire matters were teleported elsewhere."

"So the likelihood that this thing is related to space is really high," she added to emphasize her point.

"What about physical attacks?" one of the attendees inquired.

"Regarding physical attacks, we observed that while the attack did not vanished, the kinetic energy generated from it was also seemingly teleported away," Rina explained. "This phenomenon is likely the reason why the structure appears to be immune to any form of attack."

After Rina's explanation, everyone nodded in understanding. They were all intelligent individuals, capable of grasping the implications of her words quickly. Stay tuned for updates on empire

"Is this really their real plan?" Shao Mi sighed, her head aching at the mere thought of the trouble the Zol Clan had caused.

If she had known they were planning something like this from the start, she would have insisted that the other families hunt the clan down together without sparing any expense.

"I Think Miss Rina is right. Remember that rumor?" An attendee spoke up, this time an elderly man from the Middle East.

"What rumor ?"

"Well, there was a rumor that the Zol Clan aren't originally from Earth. That's why they hate humans so much. If this portal is real, it could open up their original world. And if that happens, Earth is doomed," the attendee explained plainly.

"This is becoming more dangerous. I think we should share this information with other continents. If those things are really portals to another world, our struggles for power here on Earth would become worthless. Instead, we might find ourselves facing extinction," one of the attendees voiced his opinion on the matter.

"Do you think they don't know that yet?" Rina replied directly. "They won't lend a hand without something in return, even if we warn them that it could mean the end of the world. That's just how corrupt people are," she added her tone tinged with frustration.

"Then what's our next move?" Shao Mi voiced the question on everyone's mind.
