Chapter 51: CH-49
"Here, learn this as quickly as possible." A petite man wearing a doctor's vest came up to me and gave me a huge bundle of books.
Yes.
... books.
'Shouldn't they be giving me the A-rank Mystical Palm jutsu?' I thought…remembering how iconic of a jutsu that was in this world.
Picking up one of the books, my expression soured, "Introduction to Physical Anatomy." I read out loud the cover of the book.
It was horrendous how the book was thicker than my arm...and there were countless others as well.
'People told me the path to strength is hard...but this is just too much.'
'Fighting and training is much easier than this,' I thought as I continued flipping the pages, reading and understanding the stuff that was written.
From the skeletal structure to the different types of muscles...Arteries and different processes in the body.
However by the time evening arrived... I had just o
finished one book; three more were left.
Creek.
The doctor entered my room; seeing me on my second book, he seemed shocked. That expression, however, soon changed into the dehydrated look he always had.
"Can I take these books with me to my home?" I asked the man, to which he nodded.
"Just make sure they are in the same condition... The hospital is already tight on budget.".
His eyes soon wandered across the room before coming across one book. Picking it up, he put it in front of me.
'Different types of poison in the land of fire.' It had these big words painted in purple while the background was black in color.
Overall, the book seemed ominous.
"Doctor?" I questioned the man.
"I have read your file. You are a swordsman..." I nodded to that, and he continued...his ever-stoic eyes finally showed a bit of emotion, "He died in the war against Sunagakure..."
I stopped admiring the book at that and focused all my attention on him...Having your friends die ... is one of the worst feelings for a man.
"He died from poison... by an enemy swordsman, so if you ever wish to… You can reply in kind as well.". His eyes showed me the picture of how traumatised the man was.
"I will be reading this book tonight, sir." I nodded. A small tinge of respect for him grew inside me.
He nodded and soon left me to my devices.
His name was Mahima Saru, a retired chunin who later ventured into medical ninjutsu...and found his talent.
'Of course, considering he was at a very high post at the hospital, he must have been good at healing. '. I thought as my attention was now on the Black book.
'Poison ... It isn't a bad addition to my arsenal,' it thought.
.......
(Deadlock poison—It slowly spreads throughout the nervous system. Within twelve hours, the target is paralyzed.
I moved towards the next poison on the list.
(Crab fish poison—found at the coastal regions. The poison can immediately destroy the digestive system; the process takes around thirty minutes.
Reading the summary, I found it more suited to my needs... however, it was still not it.
'In fact, most poisons on this list take too much time to affect.'.
There is a reason that people don't really buy poison all that much.
'Of course I will have to purchase the antidote for myself as well.'.
Reading the next in the list, my eyes lit up.
(Liquor poison—This originates from the double-horned boars near the south of the land of fire.). The victim was feeling boozy, and different symptoms such as dizziness, sensitive eyesight, movement control issues, and multiple issues originating from the consumption of alcohol will happen.
The effect is instantaneous; however, the dose is not lethal.
To say I had found the perfect was a big understatement.
Making someone lose control of their bodily functions between fights is a huge death sentence.
Provided it might work less on stronger ninjas, however, the poison, once applied multiple times, would show wonderful results.
'At least I hope so.'. Looking once more at the
...
The walk towards the Hokage tower had been more or less peaceful; I had brought Misachi with me since she had nothing better to do anyways.
The evening sun was very close to setting. The tower was placed just in the middle of the setting sun, giving it an ethereal look.
Konoha was bathed in a red light, ironic since the war too had been red for the most part.
'Telling Misachi about my war posting was good.' Considering I had two weeks left, it was better I told her beforehand.
Stepping in the tower, the place was just as busy as it always was.
Ninjas in different jerseys walked around searching for missions. A huge line was still placed near the four attendants; however, the pace of it was quite fast.
'Meaning I don't have to wait too long.'.
However, that wasn't my destination. Making my way across the hallway to the next one, Misachi spoke, "There, I think that's the desk.".
Looking at the place, it was mostly filled with civilians; there were some old, and some were younger.
Placing myself in the line, I waited for a few minutes.
Reaching the desk, I was met with the smiling attendant.
"Hello sir, how are you doing?" The vibe was completely different from the other place where people selected missions.
Here people were carefree. "I would like to request a C-rank mission.".
"Please write the contents of the mission here, sir." He spoke while handing me a smooth scroll.
I wrote down the need for liquor poison, with the place at which The person was supposed to find them, The antidote was also mentioned as a bonus find as well the time for which the task had to be completed.
"Thank you, sir. Please wait for the task to be verified for its authenticity and degree of risk. The result will be shown to you tomorrow.".
I nodded. He put his hand forward and spoke, "One second, sir, identity card please.".
I put the card in his hand, to which he noted the details.
"Thank you.".
I nodded and went out.
"Was that the first time you put on a mission?" Misachi asked from the side.
"Yeah ... never really had a need to.".
She nodded at that. "We as samurai do consider poison cowardly...but it's true that it's highly effective.".
I nodded to that.
She continued, "And I would rather you prefer your life over any differing values.".
I smiled towards her, " Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to me " .
She nodded, and soon we were home.
"It's still only evening; what will you do now?" She asked, placing her things on the table.
"It's not what I would do; it's what we would do. Let's train Misachi.".
She laughed at that, "You crazy training junkie, come' on then, let's see who lasts longer.".
"I wonder if you will be different in training than you are in bed," I spoke with a small smirk. I loved seeing her flustered.
"That's different…We don't talk about that." She turned her head to the side with a pout.
Holding her hand, I pulled her on the field.
"Ready?"
"Ready"
We both got into our running positions. The very next second, we were jumping across trees. Misachi was running from me while I was trying to catch her.
The game was supposed to boost our cardio as well as quick thinking.
'More like catch and catch but with superpowered individuals.'.
Seeing her slithering from tree to tree, I increased my pace... however, not enough to easily catch her.
'I am so much stronger than her now…It's not even difficult.'.
The gap between our strengths had increased quite a bit.
Seeing her commit a mistake by jumping on a broken branch, I quickly came in between her and the ground, holding her while softly landing.
"Are you good?" I asked with concern.
"Yeah," she spoke flustered... "How are you so fast?".
She seemed confused at my sudden speed-up, "Let's just say… I train a lot.".
She tried to say something; however, I didn't let her. My hands quickly wandered around her body, tickling her from every place I could find.
"No stop," she spoke in between laughing crazily, "Ahaha haha, stop no, hahaha haha.".
Kissing her on the lips, I stopped my offense, "Time for round two; don't get caught, or I will increase the tickling session.".
"You!" she spoke with fake anger.
She suddenly jumped from my arms and held my face, inching closer and closer to my lips.
'Is she?' I thought as I stood frozen, caught off-guard.
Our lips were almost touching, and I closed my eyes.
'Mhmm? Why hasn't she kissed? Opening my eyes, I was bewildered to find her on the farthest tree from me.
She pulled out her tongue as said, " Catch if you can, loser-gami ".
"Oh, it's on." I spoke with a sharp glint in my eyes.
