Naruto- White Fang Template

Chapter 50: CH-48

Today was a good day, Why? , because apparently I had been called for a on field promotion.

'I am a chunin now,' I thought while looking at the attendant in front of me.

Currently I was in the Hokage tower. I was called here this morning. The shock of past memory wasn't enough, as some moments later, a ninja knocked on my door.

'Report to Hokage Tower,' he said, and I nodded.

"Sir, your file checks out. Here is your new identity card." She spoke to me, her hands moving in a robotic motion.

'She must have been doing this for a while.'. I accepted the card and read the information.

(Kagami Hatake).

(Age - 16)

(height- 6'1)

(Affiliation—Konohagakure)

(Rank: Chunin)

A small chakra pathway was constructed on the said card, a neat Fuinjutsu trick.

'If I put chakra in it, it would act as proof of my identity.'.

The card would only function with the addition of my own chakra; hence, it was more or less safe.

"Thank you," I spoke to the woman and made my way outside.

Misachi had asked me to buy a few things, so I made my way towards the market.

On the way, I could see multiple kids playing ninja, perhaps just over five years old.

Their parents were basking in the sun, as the weather had gone a little chilly in the Hidden Leaf... Many restaurants hadn't opened up and instead were preparing for the evening, a rush hour.

I went a little ahead and bought the necessary things from the different stores.

Making my way home, I was met with a huge building. The place was modern in its design, colored white... It looked professional and safe.

However, it had a trace of sadness around it; I could feel my mood getting somber at the sight.

Multiple people were walking in it, appearing sick, while some had to be carried on a stretcher.

The majority were, in fact, normal, perhaps a cold or a flu at most.

I instantly focused in on the big sign around the place.

'Medical nin in need, hiring,' it spoke.

"Medical ninja?" I muttered to myself, It was a profession most didn't choose.

The majority of Konoha took too much pride in fighting, with the job of medic left to woman.

'However, I know its potential.'.

White Fang was good, but if I had to reach heights higher than him, then I needed to do something more.

'Something he never did.'.

I steeled my expression and made my way inside. The place was jampacked with multiple people moving around in a hurry.

"Excuse me, sir," one spoke from behind. I shifted a little, giving them the necessary space to walk.

I made my way to the counter, which had a whole line to it. It took me about five minutes before I could reach the attendant.

"What's your need, sir?" He asked in a professional tone... However, I could see the dark circles surrounding his eyes.

'The work must be tiring to have such a state in the morning.'.

"I was wondering where to go for the hiring of medical nin." I spoke, pointing at the big poster that was inside the hospital as well.

He let out a tired smile, "Three rights to Mr. Makuto," he continued, "But first, your identity card, sir.".

I let out my card and inserted my chakra in it, placing it on his hand... I let him write down the details in his register.

"Off you go, Mr. Kagami," he replied while giving me back my card.

Pocketing it in, I made my way to the doctor's room.

The place had a lot of shinobi waiting in the sitting area. There was just one desk in the entire room, with the doctor sitting beside it.

'An interview.'.

I looked as he continued interviewing each candidate. Most of them were, in fact, civilian shinobi; however, I could see some of them were from smaller clans.

There was even one from the Yamanaka clan, their clan emblem and blond hair signifying their connection.

"Next." He spoke, and I got up, taking my place at the interviewing desk.

"Name?"

"Kagami Hatake"

"Mhmm, identity card." I once again took it out and presented it to him.

"Why do you want to be a medic, Nin?" he asked me. His tired look had finally vanished, replaced by an attentive gaze.

'I must bullshit my way through this.'.

"I have been at war, doctor. It isn't fair. It isn't enjoyable... It's ugly; I have seen wounds on my comrades; I have heard their screams," I spoke with a serious face. "I have always wished there was something I could do, and I wish to change that here.".

He nodded at my answer. His eyes turned appreciative. 'He respects my fake commitment.'.

Honestly, the truth wasn't that far off. Being a medical ninja would help me a lot in my strength.

'Just the fact that I could heal myself is more than enough.'.

"That's a good answer. The test for your aptitude will be conducted in the adjacent room, Chunin Kagami.". He spoke like he had repeated this statement a hundred times.

Making my way to the adjacent room, It was filled with people; they were distanced apart to make space in the room.

"Join in," the head proctor called to me, pointing me at one empty space at the far end.

"Listen, there is only one goal here. You will be given half an hour to create a chakra scalpel." I could hear the gasps of people surrounding me.

This technique was B-rank in nature; let alone thirty minutes, it would take most people months.

"Of course we don't expect you to learn it so quickly; however, your progress will be measured, so please do your best.".

One of the people close to me raised their hand. "Will we be given a scroll, sir?".

The proctor nodded, "Yes, it will be distributed in a minute.".

I could feel the competitive energy in the environment; I even felt excited at the mention of learning a new jutsu.

'Chakra scalpel was useful...far more than people expect it to be.'.

The jutsu cuts the body from the inside to avoid infection, However this same trait could be used offensively.

'Kabuto did it.'.

I held the scroll open. The jutsu had been written down with the necessary signs.

I read the content in a minute before focusing on my hand, the principal was more or less the same.

I had learned the chakra sword quite easily...so perhaps a scalpel would come easily as well.

Focusing chakra on my hand, I tried to move it in the shape of the sword.

The moment I tried sharpening it, my chakra broke apart...

I tried multiple times, each time focusing more and more on the jutsu.

'It's a scalpel...not a sword; I should try smaller and thinner.'.

Manipulating my chakra, I let only a little bit of it outside my body. My Rasengan training had increased my chakra control to a terrifying degree.

Rather than making it sharp and long, I made it fragile and thin.

However, I kept sharpening it until it felt as if my hand had become a small dagger in itself.

'However, this isn't enough; it needs to be sharper.'.

Instead of retaining the shape, I continued lessening its width until the scalpel was just barely over my hand.

Raising my now energy-covered hand, I marveled at the ease with which I picked up the jutsu.

"What?"

"How?"

"Did he already do it?"

"No way."

Multiple gasps rang among the crowd surrounding me, the proctor seeing all the attention focused on my hand.

How?" " Even he seemed shocked at my pace, his head tilted towards his watch. "It's been five minutes.".

I spoke to lessen his confusion, "One of my techniques has the same principle as this jutsu... hence it was quite easy for me."

However, that didn't change much of his expression. "Jutsu or not, a chakra scalpel is a B-rank technique. The fact that you learned it so easily shows your talent in chakra control.".

He soon covered up his bewildered face.

"Approved. Tomorrow, come at 7 am sharp and meet me in this very room." His voice soon turned rough. He scowled towards the other examinees. "All of you, stop gawking at work on your jutsu.".

That seemed to have brought back their attention as they too focused on learning the jutsu with all they got.

I exchanged information with the proctor about the timings and schedule, explaining my need to be back in the war in some weeks.

"Unfortunately, you won't be able to join the war as a medic, Nin, since two weeks is too little time to learn all we have to offer," he added, "However, don't worry; if you survive the war, the hospital will always be open for you.".

I thanked the guy and made my way home.

Picking up the things I bought, I soon put them on the counter and explained everything to Misachi.

"You sure are talented, Kagami," she spoke with a smile. "Do your best tomorrow; I believe in you.".

I smiled.

'Medical Ninjutsu, huh...let's see how far I can reach.'.
