Chapter 243: Chapter 243: Unsealing
Boom! When the final cone-shaped Tailed Beast Bomb exploded and dissipated in the night sky, the air above the Allied Shinobi Forces finally cleared.
Bang, bang, bang... As the shadow clones vanished, Naruto, exhausted but smiling, watched the safety of everyone below before collapsing from overexertion.
"Ugh…" The overwhelming fatigue struck him like a wave. His legs gave out, and he fell to his knees, his body drained of the Nine-Tails' chakra, which had yet to fully recover.
"Naruto! Are you okay?!"
Sakura and other medical ninjas immediately rushed to his side, pouring their chakra into healing techniques to stabilize him.
"Sakura…" Naruto whispered faintly. His consciousness blurred, and before he could finish his sentence, his eyes closed, and he slumped forward.
"Naruto!!" Sakura cried, her voice filled with panic.
A Clash in the Sky
While the medics tended to Naruto, Kirito launched himself toward Obito, drawing the surprised gazes of the Five Kage.
"That person…?" Mei Terumi frowned, vaguely recognizing Kirito. His unique appearance, along with his daring approach toward Obito, piqued her curiosity.
Gaara narrowed his eyes. "What is he trying to do? It's too dangerous to charge in alone right now."
"He's that Konoha ninja who uses Wood Release," Onoki observed. "Given our current state, letting him test the strength of the Ten Tails Jinchuriki isn't a bad idea. If he's in trouble, we can support him. Don't you agree, Hokage?"
Tsunade nodded, her faith in Kirito's abilities unwavering. However, like Mei, she couldn't ignore the resemblance between Kirito and Obito. "Is it just a coincidence? Or…"
Kirito vs. Obito
In mid-air, Obito's attention snapped to Kirito. His previously dazed expression shifted into one of interest, and he raised his hand. A black orb of chakra formed on his palm and rapidly reshaped into a spike-like projectile, which he hurled at Kirito.
Without hesitation, Kirito extended his hand. A similar black orb formed in his palm, transforming into a staff-like weapon that intercepted the spike mid-air, deflecting it with ease.
Obito's eyes narrowed. Without a word, he propelled himself toward Kirito like a cannonball.
Boom! The two collided with the force of an explosion, the impact reverberating across the battlefield.
Obito's outstretched hand, aimed for Kirito's head, was knocked aside. Kirito countered immediately, landing a powerful backhanded punch to Obito's face, twisting his features grotesquely.
Yet, the damage seemed to have no effect on Obito. Flames erupted from the horns on his shoulders, morphing into five palm-shaped tails that encircled Kirito, ready to tear him apart.
Behind Kirito, a Truth-Seeking Orb materialized and reshaped into a spinning saw blade. The blade sliced through the flaming tails, severing them before they could strike.
"Power…" Obito muttered, his tone laced with frustration. His body distorted like a serpent, attempting to coil around Kirito.
Anticipating the move, Kirito seized Obito by the head and hurled him downward with immense force.
Boom! Their bodies crashed into the ground, sending debris and smoke flying in all directions.
The Five Kage Intervene
"The masked man is down! Now's our chance to strike together," Ai said, determination flaring in his voice.
Tsunade nodded. "Let's move!"
Meanwhile, Obito struggled beneath Kirito's grip. No matter how he twisted his body or tried to strike back, he couldn't shake Kirito's iron hold.
[He can't control the Ten Tails yet, even with the Rinnegan. He's far from the one who truly mastered its power.]
Kirito held Obito firmly, using the power of the Divine Sovereign Analysis Technique to study the seal binding the Ten Tails within him.
Realizing he couldn't win through brute force, Obito's body began to swell unnaturally. His limbs expanded, and a terrifying amount of energy surged within him.
"Is he planning to self-destruct?" Kirito muttered, watching the transformation unfold. "Seriously… who does that?"
The Explosion
In the next moment, a blinding white light erupted from Obito's body, engulfing the battlefield. The light rose into the night sky, illuminating everything as if it were day.
Rumble! The Five Kage, who had been rushing to Kirito's aid, were caught within the shockwave, struggling to shield themselves.
The Allied Shinobi Forces turned their horrified gazes toward the glowing ball of energy, its radiance accompanied by waves of searing heat.
As the light dissipated, a massive, bottomless crater came into view. The residual heat shimmered in the air, a testament to the devastating power of the blast.
Hovering above the crater, Kirito remained unscathed, though the silvery-white halo that once surrounded him flickered faintly, nearly extinguished.
[That attack almost destroyed my "armor."] Kirito examined himself, noting the damage. His combat suit, crafted from high-density chakra, could be repaired with enough energy, so he wasn't concerned.
Obito's Resilience
From the center of the crater, a grotesque sphere of flesh began to swell and reshape itself. Slowly, it took on the form of Obito once more.
"Huff, huff…" Obito panted heavily, his body trembling from the strain. For someone who had yet to become a perfect jinchuriki, the self-destruction technique had nearly destroyed him.
Swish! Kirito moved instantly, appearing before Obito. Grabbing his arm before he could retaliate, Kirito pressed a chakra-laden palm against Obito's abdomen.
"Six Paths: Ten Tails Coffin Seal – Release!"
