Chapter 224: Chapter 223 : Persistent Uchiha Mikoto!!
"Is that so?"
Mikoto narrowed her eyes slightly, a sharp glint flashing through them.
As she spoke, her fingers brushed her wrist, activating the summoning seal carved into her skin. She turned and threw a kunai.
Clang!
White Fang reacted instantly, raising his hand to block the kunai.
"Shuriken Throwing Technique!"
Mikoto had anticipated this. Like a burst of scattered petals, dozens of shuriken were flung into the air.
Swish, swish, swish!
The sky darkened with the swarm of shuriken, whistling through the air like a swarm of bees.
Dozens of shuriken, guided by the Uchiha clan's unique shuriken throwing technique, curved through the air from all directions, converging on the same target.
Clang, clang, clang, clang!
White Fang's brow furrowed slightly. Using just one kunai, his ingrained, masterful skills allowed him to swing multiple times, deflecting all the incoming shuriken.
But after the deflections, he suddenly realized something.
A bitter expression crossed his face as he looked at Uchiha Mikoto, his gaze dark and unreadable.
He knew... he had been exposed!
That subconscious movement, even though he tried to avoid it, had revealed his White Fang sword technique.
Anyone else might not have noticed this detail.
But the person before him was an Uchiha known for their insight and possessing the powerful Mangekyō Sharingan. How could such a subtle move escape her notice?
"It really is... White Fang's sword technique."
Mikoto stared intently at him, her breathing quickening. "You really are Hatake Sakumo. But you were dead—I saw your body with my own eyes. Why... are you still alive?!"
Seeing that he could no longer hide it, White Fang sighed lightly.
He slowly removed his hood, revealing a plain, stoic face that resembled a frozen mountain, his eyes tinged with regret.
"It really is you... Hatake Sakumo!"
Mikoto's heart trembled violently when she saw that familiar face, as if struck by a heavy blow. She stood frozen in place.
Someone she thought was dead was now standing before her, alive. How could she not be shocked?
"Why do this, Mikoto?" White Fang said calmly. "If you pretended not to know, I could let you go today. But now, you'll have to leave your life behind."
Whoosh!
His unique assassination steps were now fully revealed, no longer hidden.
White Fang moved at an eerie speed, closing the distance to Uchiha Mikoto. His kunai slashed out, creating a thin line of light in the air, like a delicate thread.
Sensing danger, Mikoto hurriedly raised her kunai to block.
But White Fang's strike, that thin, thread-like trajectory, cut through her defense effortlessly.
When their kunai met, the expected burst of sparks did not occur.
What replaced it was something as smooth as a butter knife, which effortlessly cut through Mikoto's kunai and then burst out with a spray of blood from her left shoulder.
Mikoto covered her left shoulder and staggered back a few steps. The intense pain made her unable to stop herself from kneeling on the ground.
She looked at the broken kunai, its cut surface as smooth as a mirror, leaving her confused. The material was still kunai, so why did the difference feel so huge?
"Slashes, and slashes, are not the same," White Fang said, as if seeing through her confusion. He spoke calmly, "Perhaps you've never paid attention to the angle of your slash. Even the slightest deviation can make all the difference."
As he spoke, he demonstrated. He grabbed a kunai and slashed again.
In his hands, the kunai seemed like an incredibly sharp weapon. A faint flash of lightning chakra jumped as a thin thread, no thicker than a silken strand, sliced through the air.
"Did you see that? The slash just now," White Fang said, looking at Mikoto. "The key lies in the difference in how you hold the weapon, the angle of the blade's landing, and the trajectory of the force when you strike. That's what determines the power. It's the most important element of White Fang's sword technique."
"Anyone wielding a weapon will have slight deviations in the angle of the blade."
"It's those tiny deviations that create a hidden angle between the blade and the trajectory of the force, causing a massive loss of power."
"That's not slashing. It's more accurate to call it 'striking.'"
"The true essence of White Fang's sword technique is to make the blade's angle and the trajectory of the force match as closely as possible. Only then can nothing stand in its way."
As White Fang continued talking, even explaining the essence of his sword technique, Uchiha Mikoto felt more and more confused.
Why is he telling me all this?
But White Fang seemed to ignore her completely. His gaze shifted toward a part of the forest, and he said calmly, "If you've understood, then hurry up and leave."
A figure slowly stepped out from the forest, trembling with disbelief as it called out, "Is it really you, Father?!"
It was Hatake Kakashi.
Father and son were reunited under these circumstances, and Orochimaru, who had been standing nearby, showed an intrigued look.
"Kid, I'm not your father," White Fang said coldly. "I'm just a vengeful spirit driven by hatred."
"No, you are Father!" Kakashi's eyes trembled as he slowly approached White Fang. "If you weren't my father, why would you tell me the essence of the White Fang Sword Technique?"
Swish!
White Fang appeared in front of him in an instant. His cold, emotionless eyes made Kakashi's heart tighten.
"I'm teaching you the essence of the White Fang Sword Style, but it's the lingering consciousness in this body causing trouble." White Fang swung his kunai, delivering a sharp strike that cut through Kakashi, blood spraying. He then said coldly, "Also, your nonsense is too much. I don't like it!"
Kakashi's shoulder blade was split by the blade, blood pouring out. His pupils widened in shock before he passed out.
That was such a brilliant strike, with perfect control of force!
Orochimaru couldn't help but almost applaud. To keep his son out of the whirlpool while imparting some essence of the technique, White Fang truly put in a lot of effort!
With a swing of his kunai, White Fang flicked the blood off and then turned to glare coldly at Mikoto. "Next is you."
"I know, you're lying. You are White Fang!"
Mikoto glared at him fiercely, gritting her teeth. "You want to kill me? Fine. But I have one question. I hope you'll answer me."
White Fang stopped, his brow furrowing slightly. "What question?"
"Can you tell me... how did you come back to life?"
Uchiha Mikoto's eyes were burning with intensity, her face twisted in madness. "Please, tell me how you revived. Even if you have to kill me, I just need to know!"
"You want to revive Uchiha Sogetsu, don't you?"
The hint was so obvious that White Fang immediately understood Mikoto's thoughts.
"Yes!"
Mikoto didn't hide anything. She spoke bluntly. "As long as I can bring him back, I'll pay any price!"
After a moment of silence, White Fang shook his head. "Sorry, I can't tell you that."
He tilted his kunai slightly, swinging it with a sharp angle. A thin line, as fine as a silken thread, sliced through the air. It was aimed straight at Mikoto's head.
Clang!
Sparks flew, and the sound of metal striking echoed.
However, the strike stopped just in front of Mikoto's neck, blocked by a dark red chakra skeleton.
"Don't underestimate me, White Fang!" Blood trickled from Mikoto's lips, her eyes bloodshot. She gritted her teeth and said, "Either you tell me the answer, or... even if I die or go blind, I will bite off a piece of flesh from you!"
"Susanoo, huh?"
White Fang's gaze tightened. Just as he was about to strike again, he heard Orochimaru's voice from behind.
"Wait!"
Orochimaru stopped White Fang.
"Why?"
White Fang frowned slightly, narrowing his eyes, a hint of sharpness in his gaze.
Clearly, if Orochimaru didn't give a valid reason, he might consider whether to deal with Orochimaru along with this situation.
Orochimaru ignored White Fang's threatening look and turned his attention to Uchiha Mikoto, speaking in a meaningful tone: "Are you truly willing to pay any price?"
"I am!"
Mikoto responded without hesitation. "As long as it can bring Uchiha Sogetsu back to life, I'll pay any price!"
"Perhaps, I can give you a chance."
Orochimaru raised a finger and said, "But whether or not you can seize this opportunity depends on you."
Upon hearing this, White Fang's expression changed slightly. He clearly realized Orochimaru's intention. "Are you insane? Don't you know the consequences?"
"Don't worry so much, White Fang."
Orochimaru smiled faintly. "This is just a suggestion. Whether it works or not is not in our hands. If it doesn't work, we can just kill her."
"No problem."
Uchiha Mikoto didn't give White Fang a chance to speak, responding directly: "If it doesn't work, you can kill me. It's fine."
