Chapter 66: CHAPTER 65 - Relocation of the Camp

"Sensei, I haven't..."

Kakashi furrowed his brow slightly, his voice filled with frustration. He was confident in his Lightning Release technique, convinced that by using the properties of Lightning Chakra to boost his speed and penetration power, he could break through Kiyo Hyuga's Revolving Heaven. He also believed that once he shattered the Revolving Heaven, he could safely dispel the Chidori in his hand, ensuring that Kiyo would only suffer a few minor injuries.

"Kakashi, I've already told you," Namikaze Minato said with a solemn expression, addressing Kakashi. He then gestured toward Hyuga Mirai and Kurenai Yuhi, who were perched in the trees.

Kakashi followed Minato's gaze and noticed that Kurenai Yuhi hadn't finished her hand seals yet, and Hyuga Mirai was signaling him with a kunai that had an explosive tag attached.

Realizing this, a bead of cold sweat formed on Kakashi's forehead. He had unconsciously overlooked the presence of the other two. If he continued as planned, Kurenai would first use a genjutsu to interfere with his chakra flow, and then he would be struck by the explosive tag... he would definitely be badly injured.

"Understood?" Minato's voice was firm. "This time, you lost thoroughly."

It was only after seeing Kurenai's actions that Minato decided to step in. He couldn't let one of his subordinates get hurt on their very first day at the front lines.

"I... understand, Sensei." Kakashi lowered his head, dispersing the Chidori in his hand.

Kiyo Hyuga felt frustrated by Minato's sudden interruption. She had just been about to say something when Hyuga Mirai and Kurenai Yuhi leapt down from the trees.

"Kiyo, let's call it a day. We're at the front-line camp, and this is the best outcome."

Upon hearing Hyuga Mirai's words, Kiyo Hyuga exhaled slowly and lowered her stance, dropping her Gentle Fist form.

"Thank you, Minato-sensei, for stopping it. Otherwise, Kiyo-sama might have been hurt."

Minato scratched his head and smiled. "Not at all. If I hadn't intervened, Kakashi would be the one hurt for sure. Mirai-kun's team coordination is where my student still has room to grow."

At that moment, Minato's shadow clone called forth Obito, bringing him back from the bushes.

As Obito returned, he clenched his fists and shouted, "Damn it, Kurenai, you ambushed me. If we go again, I won't..."

"Obito!" Minato scolded, pressing down on Obito's head. It was bad enough to lose, but if he didn't accept it, it would be a complete defeat.

"Sensei..." Obito tried to lift his head, but upon seeing Minato's serious expression, he had no choice but to lower his gaze and mutter, "We lost."

"There's no need to be so serious, Minato-sensei," Hyuga Mirai said with a polite wave, smiling. "It was just a friendly match between classmates. Our team still learned a lot from yours, and we gained quite a bit."

After Kurenai dispelled Nohara Rin's genjutsu, Mirai spoke again. "Well, that's enough for today. I have another mission to attend to, so I'll be leaving now."

Hyuga Mirai waved goodbye to the others and, along with Kurenai Yuhi and Kiyo Hyuga, headed back toward the camp.

As they were leaving, they bumped into Akimichi Fuu, who had jumped down from a tree. As usual, Akimichi maintained his cool demeanor and simply said, "Nice work, you've grown a lot," before disappearing in a flash.

"It's been a long time since I saw Captain Fuu use that Body Flicker technique. It's a bit nostalgic," Kurenai chuckled.

Hyuga Mirai nodded. "It really is a bit nostalgic..."

'What an exceptional companion. He always considers others in his words.'

After Mirai and the others had walked away, Minato was still reflecting on the earlier events. He looked over at Kakashi, Obito, and Nohara Rin, then made a mental note to focus on training their teamwork. While it may not match the perfect coordination of Hyuga Mirai's team, at the very least, they shouldn't be fighting as individuals like today.

---

"Kiyo, next time, don't be so stubborn. You knew that Revolving Heaven wouldn't hold up against Kakashi's technique. If you had adjusted your approach, you could have easily won the match."

Hyuga Mirai gently advised Kiyo.

Kakashi's Chidori had only recently been developed, with both strengths and weaknesses clearly apparent. The technique had tremendous acceleration, but the inertia it caused during the sprint was difficult to control.

If Kiyo had used an Air Palm to destabilize the ground ahead of Kakashi's path or used an explosive tag to block his way, Kakashi would have been forced to dodge, giving Kiyo the perfect opportunity to attack.

Instead, she had chosen the most straightforward approach—using Revolving Heaven to block.

Revolving Heaven was a perfect defense, but not the strongest one. If an attack exceeded its defensive limit, Kiyo would be the first to get hurt.

Kiyo Hyuga's injuries were not a huge problem, but for Hyuga Mirai, it would be troublesome. Zosuke Hyuga, being a loyal member of the main branch, would definitely come after him once he learned of Kiyo's injuries.

"I understand," Kiyo said softly, then added, "I'm going back now," before turning to leave.

"She doesn't seem to be in a good mood," Kurenai observed as she watched Kiyo leave.

"She's too proud. She could accept either winning or a draw, but today, she definitely lost," Hyuga Mirai shook his head.

After a brief pause, Mirai continued, "She'll be fine in a while. Kurenai, I'm heading back now."

"Alright, take care, Mirai-kun."

After bidding Kurenai farewell, Mirai returned to the supplies management camp. He checked the memories of his shadow clone and found that in the time he had been away, only four squads had come to collect supplies.

However, with the standoff between Konoha and Sunagakure still ongoing, Mirai predicted that one side would eventually break the deadlock and initiate a war.

It seemed likely that Sunagakure would be the first to strike, even though Orochimaru had destroyed much of their stockpiled resources.

After a short while, Orochimaru sent a message back using his white snake, informing Mirai that one person could leave, but he would need to wait for a mission.

Mirai wasn't in a rush. As long as there was an opportunity, he would take it. Having people constantly around him was not ideal, and using shadow clones wasn't always reliable.

A couple of days later, Orochimaru moved the entire camp to the Land of Rivers, preparing to defend against Sunagakure's attack outside Konoha.

Perhaps negotiations had broken down, or maybe Sunagakure had grown too greedy, demanding that Orochimaru be handed over along with ten times the compensation for their losses to avoid war.

Sunagakure wasn't just after resources—they wanted to blame Konoha for the disappearance of the Third Kazekage, using the excuse of seeking revenge to plunder resources and express their dissatisfaction. It was a win-win situation for them.

Orochimaru must have received a message from the village, which is why he had prepared for battle.

This worked out well for Hyuga Mirai. As the one in charge of military supplies, if war broke out, it meant there would be significant profits to be made.
