Kakashi watched as the three were attacked by enemy ninjas but refrained from intervening immediately. He knew that Kurenai already had the strength of a Chunin, and the blue-haired kid also exhibited Chunin-level combat power. They could hold their ground against these more experienced enemy ninjas for a while.

"I didn't expect Kurenai to join a new team with two such promising rookies!"

Kakashi was secretly impressed by Shishin and Sanniang. At just 12 years old, their Chunin-level strength put them on par with the talents of Asuma's generation.

"Water Release: Water Wall!"

Facing the enemy's jutsu, Shishin's face turned serious as he performed a defensive water jutsu.

Three water columns rose before Kurenai and her team, blocking the enemy's jutsu.

"But you've already lost a combatant. You're destined to be killed by us!"

The enemy leader laughed and charged at Kurenai.

The other two enemies also charged, one towards Shishin and the other towards Sanniang. After using significant chakra with their previous jutsu, they opted not to use more jutsu, having only a few techniques in their arsenal.

The real struggle began, with Kurenai facing the enemy leader alone while Shishin and the weakened Sanniang faced the other two.

Though Kurenai wasn't a match for the leader, she confused him with illusions, avoiding immediate danger. However, Shishin and Sanniang were struggling.

Despite their efforts, the three were steadily losing ground, on the verge of defeat.

"Kurenai! Leave us and run!"

"We can't hold on much longer!"

During the fight, Shishin and Sanniang urged Kurenai to escape, seeing that she had the best chance of survival.

"No, I won't abandon you!"

Kurenai, panting, replied firmly, quickly thinking of ways to defeat or escape the enemy.

Seeing Kurenai's refusal, Shishin and Sanniang felt helpless.

The battle continued, and ten minutes later, Shishin and Sanniang were covered in wounds, their chakra nearly depleted. Kurenai quickly regrouped with them. The three enemies paused, surrounding them while panting, though clearly in better shape than Kurenai's team.

"Heh, looks like you're out of chakra, hahaha!"

Seeing the exhausted trio, the enemy leader laughed, triumphing over the nearly defeated Leaf Genin.

"What now? I can't move anymore..."

Shishin murmured bitterly, a hint of despair in his eyes.

"Me too."

Sanniang's voice was calm, but his hands trembled, and he could barely hold his sword, yet his gaze remained defiantly fixed on the enemy.

"Unless someone saves us, we're dead!"

Hearing this, Kurenai couldn't help but smile bitterly, feeling intense reluctance. She had hoped to become a Chunin, never expecting to die in the exam.

"Haha, someone saving you? How naive!"

The enemy leader laughed mockingly, "Even if someone comes, they can't save you now!"

He grew impatient, about to order his men to kill the Genin.

"Really? Are you so sure I can't save them?"

Before the leader could finish, a calm voice interrupted. Kakashi's figure silently appeared like a phantom in front of Kurenai's team.

The enemies and Kurenai's team widened their eyes in surprise at Kakashi's sudden appearance.
