The ninja in front of Kurenai made a hand seal and executed a C-rank jutsu, forming hard stone slabs on his right palm. Then, he struck Kurenai's delicate body!

Hearing this, the other two ninjas' faces changed in unison!

The three ninjas drew their kunai and slashed their arms without hesitation. This was the simplest method to break an illusion, though it usually only worked on low-level ones. In high-level illusions, such actions wouldn't register in reality; thus, there'd be no pain.

As their vision cleared, they realised the three fallen bodies had disappeared, and there was no one in sight around them!

"Kill! Don't let them escape!"

The ninja who had attacked Kurenai cursed, evidently the group's leader. His anger was palpable—after setting up a trap and nearly killing the enemy, they had escaped using an illusion! This failure left him highly agitated, especially since the enemy had already lost one member!

Meanwhile, behind a large tree just 20 meters away, the three Genin panted, hiding.

"What do we do? They shouldn't find us, right?"

Shishin, still shaken, clung tightly to the tree, not daring to look back.

"They won't. We're in the dark now. As long as we stay hidden and still, they won't find us."

Sanniang replied calmly, admiring Kurenai. He had known from their conversations that Kurenai was skilled in illusions, but he hadn't expected her to cast one that could deceive three enemies simultaneously!

Their voices were extremely low, afraid the enemy might hear them.

As Shishin and Sanniang finished speaking, a mocking voice sounded above them!

The three stood up in shock, looking around to see they were surrounded again!

"Who are you? Why are you attacking Chunin exam candidates?"

Kurenai, desperate and angry, questioned the enemies.

"You are impressive. An illusion by a Genin entrapping all three of us. You are very talented in illusions, which makes it even more imperative that we kill you!"

The leader sneered, quickly making hand seals. He wouldn't give them time to stall. As he did, the other two ninjas made seals, preparing a joint attack to annihilate the three Genin, especially the injured Sanniang, who could barely stand.

"Shishin, Kurenai, run!"

Seeing the enemy's attack, Sanniang's face changed. Gritting his teeth, he urged the others to leave, not wanting them to get hurt, protecting him.

Shishin's eyes widened, but he stood firmly behind Sanniang without hesitation. He couldn't abandon his teammate in such a moment!

Kurenai hesitated momentarily, then stood her ground, ready to face the enemy's jutsu.

"Haha! Kids, prepare to die!"

The leader laughed, pressing his hands to the ground. The earth cracked, extending towards the three Genin!

"Wind Release: Wind Cutter!"

"Fire Release: Fire Dragon Jutsu!"

The other two ninjas also unleashed a C-rank wind and fire jutsu!

From a distance, Kakashi observed the three intruders coldly, estimating their strength.
