"What do you mean, Tsunade?"
In the Hokage's office building, the ANBU agents relayed Tsunade's words. The Third Hokage waved his hand and said, "Since it's Tsunade's wish, then so be it. With her watching, nothing will happen. You can go back and rest."
"Yes!" The ANBU ninjas were delighted to have a rare day off. Following the Jinchuriki in shifts every day had become exhausting.
Just after the ANBU ninja left, the office door opened abruptly. This behavior annoyed the Third Hokage, but the arrival of the person left him unable to express his anger.
"Danzo, why are you here?" The Third Hokage continued looking at the documents on his desk.
As Hokage, he was the most powerful and busiest person in Konoha. Being Hokage wasn't easy; daily affairs left little private time.
"Sarutobi, why did you withdraw the people following the Jinchuriki?"
"Because Tsunade is with Kushina. Aren't you reassured with her there?" The Third Hokage knew Danzo's intention the moment he spoke.
"Danzo, we promised Mito-sama to treat Kushina well. I hope you remember that."
"Hmph, so what? As long as it's good for the village, a vow means nothing if not upheld," Danzo felt no guilt in breaking promises, believing everything he did was for Konoha's good.
A being like the Jinchuriki should be controlled by the Root, not allowed to run around, attend school, or fight with classmates. Going out for picnics and barbecues was ridiculous.
The Third Hokage shook his head, ignoring Danzo, and continued his work. He wouldn't adopt Danzo's suggestion. As Hokage, he had to maintain face. Controlling Kushina and spreading the news would damage his reputation.
Moreover, the Third Hokage didn't trust the Root. Bringing Kushina under their control could result in releasing the Kyuubi, leading to Konoha's end.
When the Third Hokage ignored him, Danzo knew his proposal failed again. The Third Hokage wouldn't let him touch the Jinchuriki. Snorting, Danzo turned away.
At that time, Kushina, unaware of Danzo's intense gaze on her, was busy eating barbecue and praising it. Even Tsunade, initially uninterested, ate heartily.
Minato smiled, feeling burdened. Cold sweat dripped from his forehead. The food seemed lacking. Was there enough seasoning? Both Tsunade and Kushina ate voraciously. He quickly joined the battle for food, not wanting to be left out.
A small wild boar and two hares soon filled their stomachs. Tsunade patted her belly with satisfaction. "Your cooking skills are good. No wonder Kushina has been thinking about it and dragged me along."
"Hiccup~~" Tsunade burped, and Qianyue nodded slightly, acknowledging the compliment but saying nothing more.
"Kushina, Tsunade-senpai, Minato and I are going to train. If you feel bored, you can go back first," Qianyue said.
After eating, it was time for training. Qianyue and Minato headed into the woods, with no intention of inviting Kushina. She felt a little disappointed; she also wanted to participate but couldn't follow shamelessly. Ninjas didn't like people watching their training, as it could reveal information. Only close friends were exceptions, and it was clear Chigetsu and Minato didn't consider her one yet.
"You'll die in his hands sooner or later," Tsunade said, noticing Kushina's lonely appearance.
"What? Whose hands will he die in?" Kushina didn't react.
Tsunade leaned lazily against a tree branch, "It's nothing, just remembered some past events. I want to sleep. Don't disturb me. Try to control your chakra and don't let it be affected."
There was an extra Nine-Tails in her body, corroding the seal and affecting Kushina's practice, much like Naruto's experiences.
Kushina showed a serious expression, nodding heavily. "I won't be defeated by the big fox. I will defeat it!"
"Tsunade-sama, can I trade some ninjutsu with you?" Kushina asked.
"Ninjutsu? The Uzumaki clan's techniques aren't enough for you?"
"Wait!" Tsunade immediately reacted. "You don't want to help that kid Yagami Qianzuki get a ninjutsu scroll, do you?"
"Because I want to thank him." Kushina held Tsunade's arm, shaking it coquettishly. "Okay? Sister Tsunade, I just want a shadow clone ninjutsu scroll."
At school, when Qianzuki complained to Minato that a shadow clone would help her learn and train rapidly, Kushina kept it in mind. She wanted to help Qian Yue.
"I reject."
"How long has it been, Kushina, since you thought of cheating? Will you do it again in the future? No, I object to this."
"Two hundred thousand!" Kushina puffed up her face and raised two fingers. "If you don't agree, I'll go to Uncle Hokage. He promised I could ask for any ninjutsu."
"Wait!" Tsunade grabbed Kushina, saying righteously, "How can you ask the old man? He's busy. Kushina, you're too ignorant. It's better for me to help."
"Here's the deal: give me 400,000, and I'll help teach him. Without a teacher, even a scroll might not be enough. Besides, he has strong self-esteem. If you just give him the scroll, he won't accept it. I'll teach him as a reward for the barbecue. This is reasonable, right?"
"It's only 400,000. You won't suffer a loss."
"That's true, but…" Kushina felt something was off. Even with her wealth, it felt like cheating. She was still young and it was her dowry.
Tsunade didn't know how much money Kushina had, only that Konoha took over the Uzumaki legacy and designated a commercial street for her. All the shops and land on that street belonged to Kushina.
