Naruto: God Reborn

Chapter 14: 14

13:

Unohana turned to the Konoha group, her eyes softening ever so slightly. Her voice carried the same calm authority as before, though now it seemed almost compassionate. "I wish your village the best," she said, her gaze lingering on Kurenai. She apologized, but states that Aizen's death was necessary

Kurenai frowned at her words, understanding their implication. She nodded solemnly, unwilling to say more.

Unohana's eyes flicked briefly to Aizen's body parts. Her grip on her sword loosened as she began walking away, her presence shrinking as the group collectively exhaled, tension dissipating.

But then, the air shifted. Unohana froze mid-step, her sharp instincts flaring to life. Slowly, she turned back toward Aizen's lifeless form, her expression darkening as violet energy surrounded his dismembered body.

Piece by piece, Aizen's severed limbs began to glow, the eerie light drawing them together like magnets. In seconds, his body had fully reformed, standing tall as though nothing had happened. His violet reiatsu pulsed once more before receding into a calm stillness.

The group was stunned.

"What in the world?" Ino gasped, her hands trembling.

Kurenai's breath hitched as she instinctively stepped in front of Tazuna. Her crimson eyes widened in disbelief. "How can someone defy death itself?" she whispered, her voice laced with unease.

Anko's jaw tightened, her hand reflexively reaching for a kunai. "This guy... he's not human."

Hana crouched, her ninken growling low as they bristled at the unnatural display. "No... he's something far worse."

"Just what are you Naruto" Sasuke thought perplexed

Tazuna, pale and trembling, muttered, "What kind of monster are you ninja dealing with?"

Aizen smirked. "Would you look at that," he said mockingly, his gaze locking with Unohana's. "It seems I'm still immortal."

Unohana's eyes widened briefly, genuine shock flashing across her face before her expression hardened into murderous resolve. Her grip tightened on her Zanpakuto, her reiatsu flaring once more. The air grew heavy, the promise of bloodshed thick between them.

The oppressive weight of her reiatsu bore down on the group like a storm. They staggered under the pressure, their instincts screaming at them to flee.

Aizen's smirk vanished, his voice cutting through the tension like a blade. "Run."

There was no need for elaboration. The Konoha shinobi read the room perfectly, and Anko didn't waste a second. She grabbed Tazuna and gestured for the others to retreat. "Move it! Now!"

The group scrambled, their breaths heavy as they retreated to a safe distance. Behind them, Unohana's reiatsu surged, her killing intent crashing against Aizen's form like waves against a cliff.

You cannot escape your sins," she hissed, her voice layered with malice. "Not in this world. Not in any world."

Aizen exhaled slowly, his smirk returning. With a burst of power, he shattered the remaining seals on his body, save for the one over his right eye. His reiatsu erupted, meeting Unohana's oppressive aura head-on.

The clash of their spiritual energies sent shockwaves tearing across the battlefield. Trees splintered, the ground cracked, and the air itself seemed to vibrate under the weight of their power.

From a distance, the Konoha group, Tazuna, Zabuza and Haku paused, overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of what they were witnessing.

What... That brat?" Zabuza muttered, his grip tightening on his sword. "Just how strong is he"

Haku's usually calm demeanor wavered, his wide eyes betraying his unease. "Such immense power... I didn't think this was possible."

Anko leaned against a tree, her breath ragged. "If we were any closer, we'd be crushed."

Hana crouched, her ninken whining and pressing themselves close to her. "This isn't a fight. It's a calamity."

Tazuna clutched at his chest, his face pale as he tried to speak. "I-I thought you ninja were strong... but this... this is beyond anything I've ever seen."

Back at the battlefield, the clash continued. Unohana pushed forward, her reiatsu lashing out with deadly intent. But then, to her shock, Aizen's power surged. It wasn't just overwhelming, it was incomprehensible.

His reiatsu crashed against hers, overpowering it with terrifying ease. The sheer force of his energy blasted Unohana back, sending her skidding across the ground until she came to a halt.

As she stood, shaken but determined, suddenly she couldn't sense his reiatsu. She tried to sense, but there was nothing. No trace of his energy, no lingering presence in the air. Her eyes narrowed in disbelief.

"Impossible," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "Even suppressed, I should be able to sense something."

Aizen stepped forward, his expression calm yet commanding. "It's not that I'm suppressing my reiatsu," he explained, his tone almost condescending. "It's simply on another level, one you can no longer perceive."

Unohana stared at him, her disbelief evident. The realization that Aizen's power had transcended even her understanding sent a shiver down her spine.

14: Aizen vs Unohana

Unohana's composed demeanor faltered for a moment. Sweat trickled down her brow, her instincts screaming at her to move.

"In the spirit of fairness I won't use Kyoka Suigetsu," Aizen said, his voice calm yet laden with menace. " Instead, I shall grant you the privilege of witnessing Kurama."

Aizen summoned the Zanpakuto. Its crimson blade gleamed under the pale light, an almost living aura pulsating around it. The hilt, with its fox-head design, seemed to glare at Unohana, as if Kurama itself was challenging her.

The moment the blade was drawn, the oppressive weight of Kurama's reiatsu was unleashed, pressing down on the battlefield like a tidal wave.

Unohana's hand instinctively tightened around Minazuki. "Another Zanpakuto "she thought, shocked

"You've piqued my interest, Aizen," she admitted, her lips curling into a faint smile. "But don't think for a moment that I'll let you walk away unscathed."

Aizen chuckled softly. "Confidence is admirable, but I wonder how long it will last." He raised Kurama, the crimson aura flaring around him as he called out, "Rampage, Kurama!"

The blade erupted into raw, fiery energy, lengthening and transforming into a serrated weapon that looked more like a predator's claw. The crimson aura around Aizen intensified, forming a spectral fox with flickering tails and piercing red eyes.

"Shikai," Unohana murmured, eyes narrowing as the air around Aizen ignited with destructive potential.

"Come," Aizen said simply, gesturing for her to attack.

Unohana wasted no time. She surged forward, her movements a blur as she closed the distance between them. Her blade met Aizen's with a resounding clang, the sheer force of their clash splitting the ground beneath them.

Aizen countered with a quick slash, but Unohana twisted her body, avoiding the strike by a hair's breadth. She retaliated with a sweeping horizontal slash aimed at his legs. Aizen blocked effortlessly, Kurama's serrated edge catching Minazuki's blade and locking it in place.

"Impressive," Aizen remarked, pushing her back with a single swing. "But you'll need more than brute force."

Unohana smirked. "Is that so?"

With a flick of her wrist, she unleashed a rapid series of strikes, each one faster and more unpredictable than the last. Aizen deflected them with ease, his movements almost languid as Kurama's cloak shielded him from her relentless assault.

Aizen swung Kurama, releasing a barrage of crescent-shaped reiatsu slashes.

Unohana's eyes widened as the attacks closed in on her. She leapt into the air, spinning gracefully to avoid the deadly crescents. One grazed her arm, leaving a searing cut that sent a jolt of pain through her body.

Before she could recover, Aizen appeared behind her, his speed unmatched. He raised Kurama, the blade glowing with raw power, and brought it down with devastating force.

"CLANG!"

Unohana barely managed to block, but the impact sent her crashing to the ground, creating a massive crater.

From the rubble, Unohana emerged, her smile more feral than before. Blood trickled down her face, but her eyes burned with sadistic joy.

"Bankai," she whispered, cutting her hand alongside the edge of her blade. Her blade dissolved into a torrent of blood that engulfed the battlefield, staining the ground and air crimson.

Aizen watched as the blood twisted and coalesced around her, forming a grotesque yet beautiful aura of destruction.

"Fascinating," Aizen said, his voice betraying a hint of genuine curiosity.

Unohana dashed forward again, the blood swirling around her like living tendrils. Each strike of her blade was accompanied by a whip of blood, forcing Aizen to stay on the defensive.

Aizen smirked, stepping back to evade a particularly vicious strike. "You truly are remarkable, Captain Unohana. But let me show you the difference between our powers."

The spectral fox around Aizen roared, firing a torrent of flames. Unohana's blood and Aizen's flames collided mid-air, creating a chaotic storm of destruction that tore through the battlefield.

Suddenly, Aizen raised Kurama, the blade pulsating with immense power. "Let's end this game," he said, his tone final.

Unohana's instincts screamed at her to act, but it was too late. Aizen unleashed Tailed Beast Bomb the concentrated orb of energy forming at the tip of his blade before hurtling toward her.

With no time to evade, Unohana raised her blood to shield herself. The explosion that followed was cataclysmic, a blinding flash of crimson and black that obliterated everything in its path.

When the smoke cleared, Unohana stood amidst the destruction, blood dripping from her body.

Aizen, untouched, approached her slowly. "You've given me quite the show," he said, his voice filled with mock admiration. "But it's over."

Unohana smirked, saying that the fight was far from over.
